Finding your Internship Finding your internship can be quite a lengthy process. There is not really an internship culture in Israel and therefore this can take quite some time. After you've been accepted to the program, you will be placed with a placement coordinator who will work with you one on one to find you the best internship. They will provide you with a list of options. However, don't worry if you don't see one that you automatically like. We are very happy to approach new companies on your behalf. We do, however, only send your resume out to one company at a time and this is why the process can be such a lengthy one.
The Internship the internship part of the program runs for four months. We expect you to work a minimum of 25 to 30 hours a week at your placement. We found that different participants work different days and different hours according to what's best for their employer. Some participants work five or six hours five days a week and others put more hours into fewer days. As I said, this will really come down to what's best for you and your employer during the four months of the internship. There is also mandatory educational programming set out by US Career Israel and by Masar. There are four education days that turns into one per month where we target a different part of Israeli society and study it in depth. You have to choose at least three of those to attend. There are also three overnight trips where we take you to different parts of Israel and you must attend at least two of those. Free time. Your free time whilst you're on the program is your own. This is a very independent program in nature. People do everything from joining the gym to volunteering to just hanging out with friends.
