30 Days of Content From One Subscription Box

In this Friday Fuel episode of the Launch Your Box podcast, host Sarah Williams addresses the common anxiety subscription‑box founders feel about constantly needing fresh content. She reframes the problem by showing that a single shipped box contains enough material to fuel an entire month’s marketing. Sarah walks listeners through a step‑by‑step system: first, she lists 15 static‑post ideas (flat‑lay, product close‑ups, hero item, selfie, product spotlights, FAQs, testimonials, etc.) that can be captured from one box. Next, she outlines six email concepts (sneak‑peek, product feature, usage guide, etc.) that can be sent weekly. She then provides five live‑stream formats (unboxing, packing‑party behind‑the‑scenes, AMA, Q&A‑derived posts, etc.) and six long‑form content angles (unboxing blog, behind‑the‑scenes post, style guide, 5‑ways‑to‑use, SEO‑rich articles). The core operational tip is a one‑day batch shoot: capture 15 images and 10 short video clips (≤10 seconds) in a focused 2‑3‑hour session, then edit and schedule them across social, email, and blog channels for the whole month. Sarah emphasizes that content does not have to be new—repurposing existing assets is efficient, consistent, and respects limited time. She promises a downloadable checklist for members and encourages listeners to plan their next 30‑day content calendar using this framework, then repeat monthly.
Hey there! Before we dive into today, I want you to take a deep breath because if you've been feeling the pressure to post constantly, to keep showing up online over and over again, and you're just running out of ideas, this episode is going to feel like a big exhale because you're already doing the work and I'm here to help you stretch it further. All right, let's go.
Welcome to the Launch Your Box podcast with weekly tips, tricks, and strategies to start, launch, and grow your subscription box. Now here's your host, Sarah Williams.
Welcome back to the Launch Your Box podcast. Today on Friday Fuel episode, I'm gonna talk to you about something that is probably constantly on your mind? Do you ever sit down and think, I have no idea what to post today? If that's you, you're not alone. But here's the good news. If you're shipping a subscription box, your content is already in your hands. Literally one box, you can create 30 days of content. Yes, just one box. So in this episode, I'm going to break it all down post by post. Email by email, video by video, and I'll even show you how to knock it out in one single day. All right, let's do it. Let's start off. So before we dive into these ideas, I want to shift how you're thinking about content. You probably wake up and think, okay, what should I post today? But I want you to start asking yourself, how can I talk about this one box in lots of different ways that connect with my audience? Here's the thing, like, you've already put so much thought, time, energy, effort into this one box. We've got to let it work hard for us because content doesn't necessarily mean new. It just means useful and consistent content. So let's start off with the good stuff because static posts, they're really good. Video is great. Static posts are better. They're just easier in my mind. And so let's walk through types of content that you can make from one box. So I sat down this morning before I was, um, you know, getting ready to record this episode, and I thought, I just want to help you create a monthly content plan with no guesswork. And we can literally do that with one box. We can have all of the content we need for our entire month with just one box. So I just started writing ideas, and I came up with like 15 static posts. If you're a note-taker, I'm going to give you a handful of those. I actually have put all of this into a checklist for our Launch Your Box members, so that will be dropped into the group the same day that this airs. And I also am putting it into our subscription box social media lesson in our library, so you'll be able to find it in the group and the library. But let's just start off with posts. I literally in, in minutes had 15 different post ideas from one subscription box. So let me, let me give you a handful of those so that you can do this. But that's literally a post about your subscription box every other day. Okay, so we've got those full styled flat lays of our boxes and we can post those every month and that's probably something you're already doing. But what about that close-up of one of those favorite products? What about that hero item? What about a close-up of every single item in your box? What about that selfie of you holding the box. That's great for shipping day. I forget to do this, and so what happens is I end up using the same one over and over again. New shirt, new outfit every month. I can hold that box. You can also do a product spotlight. So you could do these with each product. So product spotlight number 1, why did I pick this item? The what and the why. Product spotlight number 2, how to use this item from your box. You can do a testimonial with a customer, you know, testimonial. And I always use just a picture of the box and we overlay the testimonial on top of it. This is one really great one is going into like your DMs or your comments where people ask questions. Let's put a picture of your box and answer a frequently asked question right as a post. There's so many things that you can do with this. And these— I came up with 15 ideas. Like that. So I've got all those ideas for our Launch Your Box members. But let's talk about emails because content isn't just about posting. Content is about all of our marketing. So you could send an email every single week of the month. I've got 6 that I came up with that are really easy for me to do. Sneak peek email, super easy. I just only post about the sneak peek. I build excitement before it ships. This is something I can send like right when we're revealing the sneak peek. And then also I can send this like the day before our cart closes for the next month. You could do a product feature email just like we did a product highlight post. We could take one or two items from the box, dive into what that product is, why you picked it, how it goes with your theme, and then how to use them. So I've got 6 full ideas here that I'm going to give our Launch Your Box members. Now let's talk about going live. It's still relevant. I've been talking about it for years. It still works. Like, if you were to scroll my Facebook feed, my YouTube feed, um, every time that I'm live, I get the most engagement. So let's stop putting it off. And if you're like, I don't know what to talk about when I'm live, I've got 5 different ideas for you. And you know, I talk about that monthly unboxing, walking through the unboxing. You could go live with like your packing party behind the scenes, like whether that's just you and you're having a fun with it, or you've got 1 or 2 people helping you, go behind the scenes, talk, talk to them a little bit about the packing process. You could also do an Ask Me Anything. This is where those frequently asked questions come in. And do you see what I'm doing here? I'm tying this back into those posts. So if you go live and you say, ask me anything about our subscriptions, and you start getting lots of questions, you can answer those live. And then you could also take each one of those questions and make posts out of them. So I got 6 total here. Now let's go into long-form content, because this would be blog posts, this could be YouTube videos, this could be longer-form content. This is great for SEO on your website. It makes you highly searchable in the search field. But let's talk about different ways to do that. Of course, we could always do an unboxing blog. It's great. You can do that with the, you know, the recap of how you picked everything, how it goes together, what each month's theme is. That's the bare minimum. That is the one thing you should do. Then you could do a behind-the-scenes blog curating this month's box. You could do a 5 ways to use this month's block— block— box— this month's box. I like to do a style guide in my blog. So there's lots of options here for long-form content that has lots of searchable keywords in it. Now I went through that very quickly because it's Friday Fuel and we only have 10 minutes, but I've got a full comprehensive checklist that I'm going to drop inside Launch Your Box today. But here's the other thing I wanted to talk about. It feels like a lot when I say that, right? But here's the simple, simple way to do this. You batch it in one day. Like, it doesn't have to take you all month. To do these things. You don't need to wake up every day wondering which one of these shots you have to take and doing all of that again. You just need one concentrated shoot day, and really you just need a few hours. So you can take some B-roll, you can take some video during packing day, and then if you just say, okay, in one day I'm gonna, I'm gonna block 2 or 3 hours to take some photos That's going to be the best thing. And then that half day that you used for photos is going to, you know, drive your content for the rest of the month. And you're not going to have to wake up and say, oh, I got to go take another picture of my box today. No, because you're going to do it all at once so you can capture that full flat lay. Then you can capture the individual product in different shots. You can capture that picture that I said, take that selfie of you holding the box, take one of you pretend packing the box. Take some short video clips of, you know, the flat lay laid out, of you prepping things. Take the selfie with products on or using the products. Like, these are all things that you could capture very quickly without overthinking it, and then you have a bank of content all month long. So let's get 15 images. Let's get 15 images from our photo shoot that we can have 15 posts out of. Let's get 4 to 6 video clips. These are going to be Reels. And then I would take some more so that you have stuff for stories as well. Okay. And then let's do all those images that you're taking, those 15. Those can be what we put in the email and also put in our blog. So if you think about it, you probably need 15 images and 10 short videos. And if you think about how simple that feels, then you can create the content from everything that you are going to do for the next 30 days from 15 images and 10 short videos. And I'm talking short, I'm talking 10 seconds or less for your video clips. And then it's just a matter of editing your pictures, editing your videos, and you can do that, you know, late one night when you're watching TV, or, you know, while you're waiting, you know, at the grocery store checkout, like whatever it is. Maybe I don't check out at the grocery store, I'm in the grocery store pickup like the, um, curbside pickup line. These are all things if you just spend a few hours in one day getting all the clips, getting all the images, then you have content for the entire month and you're not scrambling every day to figure it out. This is smart marketing and it respects your time because we don't have the time. Okay, so let's wrap this up. You don't need more content ideas. IDs. You don't need more content ideas. You just need a plan to repurpose what you're already doing. Your box is your biggest marketing asset. You just need to stretch it strategically. So those 1 or 2 shots you take, we need to turn them into 15. One box, 30 days of content, one shoot to capture it all. So take your last box and I want you to plan your next 30 days of content. And I'll bet you'll be surprised at how easy it feels once you lay it out. And then all you have to do is rinse and repeat it month after month.
