Drive More Traffic to Your Subscription Box Website

In this live "Monday Momentum" session, Sarah Williams guides subscription‑box entrepreneurs on how to boost website traffic during Q4 by leveraging social media, especially Facebook. She begins with community check‑ins, promotes her text‑reminder service, and asks viewers to subscribe to her YouTube channel. Sarah then shares a personal story from a recent mastermind retreat in Naples, Florida, illustrating the power of Facebook: 85% of her own social‑media traffic comes from that platform, contradicting the narrative that Facebook is dead. She outlines her tiered coaching ecosystem—Launch Your Box (foundational membership), Scale Your Box (advanced growth for launched boxes), and an elite Mastermind (6‑figure+ owners) — describing the structure, benefits, and upcoming waitlist. The core of the session is a concrete, daily "in‑the‑moment" engagement challenge: post a spontaneous photo or video (personal or work‑related) to the feed each day through the end of the year, tell a short story, and ask a question to spark conversation. Sarah explains why authentic, frequent personal posts lift algorithmic reach, drive sales, and build the know‑like‑trust factor, even when a social‑media manager handles product posts. She offers practical tips for coordinating with managers, adjusting posting frequency, and focusing on feed posts over stories. The session ends with a commitment call‑to‑action—participants type “I’m committed” in chat and pledge to post daily, reinforcing habit formation and community accountability.

Good morning. Happy Monday. Welcome to Monday Momentum. Today we're going to talk about the fourth quarter and leveraging your social media. So if you're joining me live, let me know that you're here. And also let me know where you're watching from this morning. I just got back from Naples, Florida. I was out there with my mastermind and we had a topic of discussion on our day one. About driving traffic to your website. And one of those ways that we were discussing was leveraging our social media. So I thought it would be a great topic for us to talk about this morning. I've been missing y'all. Let me just tell you, I wasn't live last week because it was a holiday. I wasn't live the week before because I was on vacation. And so I've been missing you for weeks and weeks. So let me know that you're here. Good morning. Let me know where you're watching from this morning. And then also I popped my text reminder number on the screen this morning. I sent out 500 texts a little bit ago. If you are not on the text list and you would like a morning reminder, a Monday morning reminder, I'll just send you a quick text before I go live to remind you that I am going live for Monday Momentum. So just text me the word Monday to 940-204-0023. And you will get that Monday morning text to remind you that I am live. And that way, if you know it's a holiday or I'm on vacation and you're not sure if I'm going live on that Monday, you'll get a text when I am live. So don't worry about that. Good morning, everybody. Let me come over to the chat and say good morning. I see I've got some YouTube watchers this morning. I see Diana's here. If you listen, if you are not Team, can you grab my YouTube link? Um, if you are not subscribed to my YouTube channel, could you do me like a giant favor today, um, and go subscribe? My goal is to have my first 1,000 YouTube subscribers by the end of September, and so I need your help. Just go over there, hit the subscribe button, it's totally free, um, and then you can watch past Monday Momentums, very easy. On YouTube. I do a lot of YouTube Shorts. Um, I have some of— we're loading some of the podcast episodes in on YouTube. So if you love that platform and you can watch video and listen to audio and stuff on that, I would love to hit my 1,000 brand new YouTube subscribers by the end of September. So I would appreciate that very, very much. Um, Charlene's over there watching me on YouTube this morning. Good morning, um, from Ohio over there on YouTube as well. And then we've got our good old Facebook, tried and true Facebook. I got to tell you a little funny story, but good morning, Andrea. Good morning, Rebecca. Good morning, Val. Hi, Sandy. Good morning, Michelle. Hi, Selena. Good morning, everybody. I see the team is here with us. Good morning, Kelly. Good morning. Some of you I can't see, and that's okay. It just means I need you to give StreamYard permission. There's a link in the description today that will let you give StreamYard permission so I can see your name because I'm on StreamYard. You're on Facebook, they have to play nice with each other. You have to give them permission so that I can see you guys like I can see Michelle and Stephanie and Sherry. I was like, who the heck is Sarah? What do you mean? Have I been gone that long, Sherry? What's going on? Good morning, Tara. Good morning, everybody. Okay, so let me tell you this story about Facebook. So I'm out at the mastermind last week. I'll tell you a little bit more about that. But one of my mastermind members, Lo, she has been heavy Instagrammer. She's a heavy Instagrammer. She runs a lot, she has run a lot of her business on Instagram, has grown on Instagram. And I really challenged her this year to not overlook Facebook. And I said, there's a lot of potential on Facebook. And I know you love Instagram and I want you to lean into Instagram, but Facebook just has I think you're missing, I think you're missing something by not giving any face, giving any love to Facebook. And she's like, okay, I'll try it. And she said last week, she goes, y'all, Facebook is where it's at. And you know, I laughed because she was really resistant to Facebook. And I know where it's at. It's, it is really hard, um, has been really challenging for me to grow on Instagram. But Facebook is where I get the most engagement, the most reach, the most interaction on anything. And so if you are not giving any love to Facebook, I'm going to challenge you to give it a little more love and see what it gives back to you, because it's a, it's a great platform. And I know that there are people out there that will tell you that Facebook's dead and you need to be on TikTok and you need to be on YouTube and you need to be on all these other platforms. Y'all, Facebook is not dead. 85% of my social media traffic comes from Facebook every single month. And I am on a lot of platforms, so I'm just going to tell you that Facebook is not dead. Nurture your Facebook, give it some love, stop resisting it, and, um, and you're going to see some uplift from it. And it's a perfect part of our conversation today. So last week I spent the week in Naples, Florida hosting my mastermind students. There's 20 of them, and Basically, if you don't know the way this flows with my business is I have Launch Your Box and that is my very first membership that I started with the coaching side of the business. And that's where I have the most students. So I have Launch Your Box and that's really the entry into my world. And you could have already launched your box and come into Launch Your Box. It doesn't mean that that's all that I teach you. Those of you that are in Launch Your Box, you know, we talk about marketing, we talk about logistics, we talk about products, we talk about launching. We talk about all the things and it's a really great membership to get you going to really outline your marketing plan and to make progress with your subscription box initially launching. But also it doesn't stop with a launch. You have to grow every single month in order to maintain your subscription and continue to grow. And we have lots of resources in Launch Your Box. So that's where a big chunk of my students come in at and stay for a very long time. Then I have the next level, and the next level is called Scale Your Box. And this is for people that have launched their subscription box and they're interested in scaling. And so we take the materials from Launch Your Box and we do the advanced level stuff inside Scale Your Box. So I'm really working with Scale Your Box students on developing a multichannel marketing plan. We're gonna get systems and processes in line so that we can scale our businesses and doing those things that are kind of next level. Like if you've got something that's working now, how do we throw the gas on it? How do we make it scale? How do we continue to grow? And so that next level is Scale Your Box. And so we're getting ready to open our Skill Your Box membership next month and I'll have some more details for you. I do have a waitlist team. If you could chat, if you could drop the Skill Your Box waitlist in there. So if you've launched your subscription box, if you have subscribers, you're ready to dig in for the advanced training and be with that group of people. You'll get more information about our Skill Your Box membership as we launch it next month. But we have a great core group of people there. And then from there, this is where the mastermind comes in. So the mastermind is for people that are making 6 figures a year or more and they have a subscription box or a membership. So they're building in recurring revenue. And so I did a one weekend beach retreat a year ago in September to test it and to see if I really wanted, if I had the bandwidth to really do this and do it the way I wanted to. I did a beach retreat. 20 people came out to the beach retreat. It was the most amazing weekend. It filled my cup up so much and I knew I needed to do that going forward. And so I developed a full-year mastermind. And so these were my mastermind people that were out at, in Naples, Florida with me. So what they get is they get me in person 3 times a year. So we meet different parts of the country. I try to choose different places. We've been to La Jolla, California this year. We met in Dallas after Sub Summit and had a day together, and then we were in Naples, Florida this week, and it was so beautiful. We're at a little boutique hotel there and it was really great. But that in-person connection is at a completely different level than anything else that we do. And what's been amazing over the year that I've seen these 20 women bond and network and collaborate and lift each other up and celebrate each other. And, um, when we have those bad days, they just pick each other back up and remind them of their worth, remind them of their abilities, remind them of their skills. Because a lot of us don't have that support at home, right? Like There are a lot of us that we are the only entrepreneur in our family. I am the only entrepreneur in my family, and, and as much as my family loves and supports me, and no matter what I do, they just don't get it. They don't understand it. And, um, so what, what it's like being around a group of people that absolutely get the good days, the bad days, and everything in between is that they— everyone is like-minded and everyone is handpicked for that mastermind. I, I handpick every one of those, and not everybody's a fit, and I'm not going to put someone that doesn't fit in that group because then that's just awkward. It's just awkward. So I need everybody to bring something to the table And I need everybody here that is like-minded, that has the same sense of mindset that everybody else does, because that's what makes a great mastermind. And when you only have 24 spots in that room, you want to make sure you fill it with the best synchronicity that you can. And so anyway, that's what we were out there doing. And so many of the ladies are in the groups Launch Your Box, Scale Your Box, sharing, helping, encouraging every single day. And it doesn't matter that they're making 6 figures or 7 figures or 8 figures. They're here because they were at one point uplifted in that way and they're giving back to the community. Stephanie, 6 figures would be $100,000 or more. We don't put the decimals in the 6 figures. So it's an elite group of It's an elite group of people. So that's, that's a little breakdown of Launch Your Box, Scale Your Box, Mastermind, and what I was doing last week. I am also a part of a Mastermind. So I have been in a Mastermind for 5 years now with my mentor Stu McLaren, and I am leaving on Sunday again to go to Canada and be the student in the room, be the member of the Mastermind instead of the leader of the Mastermind next week. And I'm looking forward to it. I think learning from people that you admire, that you want to emulate, that you are inspired by is very, very important. And also, I've been in that mastermind for 5 years with people from all over the world, and I have really great connections with those people, relationships with those people. And it's not always about what Stu has to say, but it's about everyone's feedback. It's about side conversations. It's about what we talked about at breakfast or lunch or dinner or after hours or that collaboration that we did together. Um, and so I get my cup filled up every time I go to the mastermind that I'm in as well. And so that was my goal when starting this mastermind was how can I deliver to my students the way that Stu does to his students? And so how do I create the environment for these women to thrive in this environment with me, because I feel like I was made for that. And every time I go, I just— I leave thinking, this is what I'm made for. No matter what I've done in my lifetime, no matter what accolades I get, being in that room, supporting, encouraging, uplifting, and really just mentoring these women through it. It's business and personal. Like, we go through so much as business and personal. Um, it, it, it's always intertwined. It is never separate. It is always there. So that's what I've been doing. But I've missed y'all, and so I thought today would be great to talk about an action item that you guys can get going on this week because it is September 11th. Y'all, when did September happen? When did we get out of summer? Because I don't know what happened. And, um, we are going to be hitting it hard over the next 4 months. And one of the things that we talked about as a group last week was how we drive traffic to our websites. If we aren't intentionally waking up every single day and actively driving traffic to our website We're not doing our jobs. We can't just put our website out there and hope people will come. If you build it, they will come. They won't. They don't know you're there. How are they going to come if they don't know you're there? And so we talk through different ways that we do that. And one of them was social media. And we do this a lot of different ways. We do it with lives. We do it with product posts. We do it with blog posts. We do it with box openings. We do it a lot of different ways. But what we see when we go into the insights of our social media pages is it's a direct correlation to you as the face of your business and the reach and engagement that you get on posts that are that way. I don't like to admit it. I don't like to admit it. But every time I post a picture and a story of whatever I'm doing that day, I get so much engagement and then I'll go post a picture of a coffee mug and I get 3 likes. Anybody else in the chat feel like that? Like I'm trying to sell this and trying to sell my coffee mug, but everybody wants to just engage with me and what I had for breakfast today. Right. And so what happens is we get in this, we get in this mode of post my boxes, post my product, post my things. But we're not engaging. And that's what we need to be doing over the next several months. That is our superpower as small business owners. We need to be doing it in the moment, picture engaging with our audience every day. So this is the challenge that we came up with as a mastermind last week, and I'm gonna put that challenge onto you as well. Every day from today, through the rest of the year, I want you to post an in-the-moment engaging picture or video, whatever that may be. So a great example would be this. A great example would be, let me do a picture right here. I'm in the moment and I— let me smile. There we go. I'm going to post this on my How to Start a Subscription Box page today, today, and I'm going to do a little rundown of what I'm teaching today in this live. That is an in-the-moment. If you're out there folding boxes, I want you to do an in-the-moment folding boxes and ask a question. If you're— maybe you're just drinking coffee today and you're trying to figure out what's on your to-do list and you're writing out your to-do list, post a picture of it every single day. Can you post an in-the-moment engaging picture from now until the rest of the year. Because what's going to happen is when you post that picture or video or whatever it is that you're doing, you're going to get people talking and that is automatically going to lift the next post that you do. So then when I post my picture of my cute coffee mug, that algorithm is already lifted from the previous post that people are engaging on. And you know what else I see every single day? I see sales from the engagement post, even though I'm not selling anything. I'm reminding them that, oh yeah, I want to go buy that cute shirt that I've been thinking about. Oh yeah, I want to get that bracelet set that Sarah showed us the other day. There's Sarah in my feed again engaging. And so that's what I want you to do. I want you to post a short video, a live or a static picture every single day that's in the moment of something you're doing. It can be personal, it can be work, it can be either one. Okay? And I want you to just tell a quick story and ask a question. And if you can do that from now until the end of the year, every single day, you're going to get a major lift on your social media. You're going to get a major lift on your engagement. You're going to get a major lift on your sales, and it's going to start to benefit your business in so many ways. Question: How do you handle this if you have a social media manager? I have two. I have one that does Framed and one that does How to Start a Subscription Box. And all I have to do is say, I'm going to do a post every day. They can still do their job. They can still post your products and all of the other things. But I'm going to do an in-the-moment and I'm just going to post it whenever I can in the moment. So don't wait on me. Don't plan on me. You still do your job. but I'm going to come in all willy-nilly spontaneous and I'm going to come in with some engagement and I'm going to help do an overall lift so they can still do their job. I just want you to be in the moment and start to do that and start to create some engagement. We have an ability to engage with our audiences. Okay. And if we stop doing that, and here's what I've noticed, those of you that have a social media manager, Engagement's down because it's not me posting, it's not me talking, it's not me interacting. And that's okay, they're doing their job, but we need to bring that back. Okay, Tara, you might be over-posting. You might be over-posting. If you're posting 7 times a day and getting 4 comments a week, Pull it back. Try this week to do 3 posts a day. Pull it back. You might be overposting and see if you get a lift in your engagement. Okay. It does not have to be your face every time. It could be a picture of your hand holding the coffee mug and there's something in the background that you're talking about. It could be, it could be something. It could be your hands doing something. It does not have to be your face. You don't have to do hair and makeup every day. I don't recommend that. Just in the moment. You could do stories and/or posts, but I don't want you to do just stories. I want this to be on your feed because in the stories, when people engage with you in the stories, people— other people don't see that. So we want to build community. So I would rather these be in your feed than in your stories. I do think stories are important, but I want to see the interaction on your page. That's going to help your algorithm. Okay. All right. Yes, Shauna, 2 to 3 times a day would be excellent for 2,000 followers. Um, when you post more, it's because you have hundreds of thousands of followers. So unless you have hundreds of thousands of followers, you don't need to be posting 7 times a day. Um, if you are posting 7 times a day and you're not getting traction, pull it back. Bring— rein it back in a little bit, and then you can slowly increase. But here's your challenge for the rest of 2023, and I want to know if you're going to commit to the challenge right here on this live, whether you're watching it live or you're watching the replay. I want you to type the word 'I'm committed' in the chat. It doesn't have to be hard. It can literally take 2 minutes. I don't want you to overthink it. It doesn't need to be a perfect polished selfie or staged scene. It can literally just be in the moment, engaging with your audience, telling a short snippet of what you're doing that day. Let them get to know you. Let them understand you. Let them connect with you. They will be buyers. They will be more loyal. They will be more likely to commit to you if you can commit to them. And when I say you committing to them, you're showing them what your life is like. And it doesn't have— like, some people show everything about their life. I'm not that person. I'm never going to be that person. I'm going to give you a little bit of my day every day, no matter what it is. It could be personal or it could be work. I'm just going to give you one little touch every day, and that's going to let somebody connect with me. And then you know what? They're going to connect with me with their credit card. They're going to commit to me because they know, like, and trust me. Giving someone a payment every single month is a big commitment. And we ask for that every single day. We ask you to commit to us by joining our membership or joining our subscription, but we won't commit to them. So stop hiding. Stop telling yourself you're not worthy, you're not good enough, you can't do this, you're too shy, you're too much of an introvert. I'm all those things, and I commit to showing up to you guys, with you guys, every single Monday. We can do this. And the more you do it, the more you're going to overcome that. And the more you do that, the easier it's going to be. And if you're not sure what to do, go follow me on how to start a subscription box. You're going to see me committing to this process every single day too. Okay, we need to build that know, like, and trust factor so that people feel comfortable buying from us and committing in a subscription with us. All right, we can all do this, and this can look different in so many ways. Team, let's do some share posts this week inside, uh, LauncherBox, and let's share whatever post is getting the most traction for us throughout the week. Okay, so if you do some posts this week, maybe Wednesday, let's do a post and we'll do one on Friday too. And I want you to share whatever in-the-moment post is getting the most traction for you so it'll give other people ideas for what they can do to the rest of the year. We can do anything for the rest of 2023. 5 minutes a day. Connect with your audience, engage with them, and let's commit to this. Just type, I am committed the rest of 2023. So it's a little over 90 days— what, 100, 100 days, 105 days, something like that. We're going to create a habit, and that habit's going to build momentum, and we're going to leverage this platform that we get for free We get it for free. It's like me standing on in the middle of the median out here in front of my warehouse with a sandwich board. Do you know how easy it is to just to do a post than to go stand out in the median and engage with the cars that are driving by? We get to do this for free. Build some traction. All right, okay, I want to see your posts today. So go get them posted in the moment, whatever you're working on. Let's commit, commit to yourself, commit to your audience. All right. I'll see you guys this week inside Launch Your Box and Scale Your Box. Bye.
