How to Build Momentum in 30 Days (Even If You Feel Stuck)

In this solo presentation, Sarah Williams addresses subscription‑box entrepreneurs who feel overwhelmed or stuck at the start of the new year. She normalizes the anxiety that comes with holiday downtime and proposes a concrete four‑week momentum plan to reset, refocus, and grow the business. Week 1 (Clarity & Cleanup) focuses on refreshing top product listings and website visuals to match the new season. Week 2 (Visibility & Voice) encourages showing up again through stories, reels, B‑roll, or voice‑over content, emphasizing personal connection and algorithm variety. Week 3 (Make an Offer) tackles the typical January churn by launching mini‑promotions, ads, or email campaigns to attract new subscribers, reminding owners that cancellations are often financial and not a reflection of their value. Week 4 (Reflect & Reset) has entrepreneurs review the month’s actions, tweak the plan, and set goals for February. Throughout, Sarah shares practical tips (e.g., using short B‑roll clips, voice‑overs), cites community wins from her Launch Your Box program, and promotes resources like her free Six‑in‑Sixty workshop and mastermind groups. The overall message is to discard guilt, take small actionable steps each week, stay self‑motivated, and treat every month as an opportunity rather than a lost period.

Good morning. Good morning. Happy Monday. Happy official Monday of the new year. I'm excited because every time the calendar just turns, whether it's a new month, a new week, or really we have all of that here. We have new month, new week, new year. It makes me feel like I have a fresh start with things. And, you know, I'm just going to normalize the amount of overwhelm that you might feel in the new year right now. I'm feeling it. I had a little bit of panic attack over the weekend. I feel like, okay, the fourth quarter is over. I can settle in. I, I can relax a little bit. And that's actually not the case. I have a lot of stuff going on and a lot of work that needs to be done. And feel like maybe I lost a little momentum over the holiday break. Like, I'm taking a lot of downtime. I don't know what day it is. I'm reading a new book almost every day. Like, I'm trying to relax, but every time I relax, I'm getting behind on work. So that leads to overwhelm, or feeling like I lost momentum, feeling like I'm behind. Um, let me know in the chat if you are feeling behind already for January. What I want us to do today, and I want us to do this together, is just throw that guilt away. We are not going to start the year feeling behind. We're not going to start the year feeling stressed out. We are going to start the year building some momentum in our business, even if we feel like we've kind of lost that momentum over the last few weeks as, you know, we've shut down a little bit. And listen, like, we get to that point of shutdown, like we need to shut down. And I don't want you to feel guilty about that because we need to rest. If we rest, we don't burn out. If we rest, we don't quit. But now here we are, January 5th, brand new year, brand new month, brand new season of things. And, and so what I want to do is talk about how we can turn these next 30 days into some momentum building, even if you felt behind, even if you felt stuck, like we have an opportunity just to reset today and we're going to talk about that. And I don't want you to stop and shut down. That's what we don't want to do in our business. We don't want to shut down, shut down, shut down. We want to keep building on the momentum. I don't know about you, But I had a crazy good December. Like, I finished so strong for 2025, and I'm really proud because I took most of November off. You know, I went, I went and got married, and so I was feeling like I was already behind going into December, and I was feeling a little bit of guilt about that because we really build a lot of momentum in November. But I finished December really, really strong, and I really want to build on that momentum. Even if you didn't have a great December, it's time to just reset that. And so you don't need a big launch to do that. You don't need to jump through hoops to do that. We just really need to create some clarity and create some focus over the next 30 days. I'm leaving today to go to my mastermind. I have my 6 and 7 figure business owners meeting me in Dallas today. And our whole session this week is about clarity and focus. And I think that always when we look back at things and we look forward to things, knowing exactly where we're going is the most important thing that we should do. Because if not, we kind of just flail around. We kind of just, you know, we kind of just are like a hamster in a hamster wheel, like, okay, got to keep going. I got to keep posting on social media. I got to keep showing up and doing a live. But why, why are we doing that? What are we doing? Getting clarity and focus about what we want for the year. That's what we're going to do this week when I'm with them. I'm going to see Christy. I can't wait to see you tonight or tomorrow. But here's— let's talk about it because I'm going to see Jonica. She's on her way to the airport. Like, it feels so good to be in person with these ladies and I get to see them 3 times a year. They're part of my Elevate Mastermind. And so So it's just, it's one of those things you go through. Launch Your Box, you move into Scale Your Box. From Scale Your Box, you'll have— you can join the mastermind when, when I think you're ready, when you think you're ready, when both of us think you're ready. So that's where we're at with that. So let's start. Let's start with this 4-week momentum build, no matter where you're at. Okay. So if you're just in the building stages of your business, like if you're just getting ready to launch this year, maybe you haven't launched, maybe you're not selling, or if you're already in the subscription box business, let's reset. Let's do some clarity and cleanup. Week number 1 is clarity and cleanup. Okay, so for me, I want to go through and I want to refresh product listings. What are your top products right now? Not what were they in December, because with season change, product selection is going to change. So how can we refresh our top product listing? What's driving business? What's driving sales in the business right now? Maybe I need some fresh product images. Maybe I need a fresh product description. How can you go through and clean up some of your top 10 product listings? Let's just clean that up. Let's make it fresh. There's some things that I do, you know, and they're like a seasonal cleanup. So like, I sell a lot of t-shirts, okay? Well, some t-shirts have shorts and flip-flops with them. Some t-shirts have a beach bag and a water bottle with them. Right now, they don't need to have a beach bag and a water bottle with them. They need to have a cardigan and a fuzzy, you know, beanie with them. So if I was gonna look at some of my top listings, How could I make them fresh with what season that we're in? Okay, so I want you to think about that. Clean up your website. If you've got product images that are all different sizes, maybe it's your homepage needs a little refresh. Clean up your website, clean up your top 10 product listings. Let's get real clear on what we're doing this week. Now next week, I want you to start showing back up. Maybe you've been a little bit of a hermit. Maybe you've shut down, reset. Okay, I haven't gone live in a couple of weeks. It's been Christmas, it's been New Year's. Maybe I haven't been posting anything about me on my page. Let's start to show back up. I want you to show back up in week 2. Visibility and voice is week 2. So show your face or share your voice. Stories, reels, emails. How do we get more personal? Let's show back up. Let's talk about what we've been doing on the holiday break. Let's talk about what we're prepping right now. Like we're in full January box prep right now. Like, we don't have time to waste. We've had a little extra time off. They had the whole week of Christmas off. They had New Year's Day off. And so we're kind of scrambling and catching back up. Let your audience know, hey, we're back, we're working on January stuff. Let's get behind the scenes. Let's tell a story about a product, why you made it, who it's for. Let's start getting visible again if we've kind of shut down. And if we've not, how can we get visible in a different way? We have to constantly shake up the algorithm, right? So if you're doing something, the same thing over and over again, how do you break that up a little bit? How do you do something different? If you don't want to show your face, that's fine. But let's show your voice when you talk on a reel. Like, even if it's like a B-roll of like the warehouse right now, like I could just do like a B-roll. I don't know if you can see through my window here, but they're working in the warehouse. I just did a B-roll. I could just take a 10-second B-roll of the warehouse right now and I could just be like, we're back from our holiday break. This is what we're working on. This is what we're excited about. This is what's coming up. My face doesn't have to be on it at all. And you are like, but Sarah, I don't have a warehouse. That's okay. Take a B-roll of you walking down the street. You know, just, you know, the funniest thing is the B-roll that gets the most views is me driving in the car. It's like 10 seconds just putting the camera up, turning it on. And I'm just— I'm literally going somewhere. I'm driving in the car. All the driving in the car B-rolls, we can put anything on them, like driving to work today, ready to get back at it. Like, there's so many things that you can do. Your voice is a visibility for you. Like, when you hear me speak, like right now I'm talking to you, it's kind of like we're on the phone having a conversation. It's personal. Your voice is very personal and it connects people to you. So if you don't want to show your face, share your voice. Okay, now week 3, let's get an offer out there. Let's start making some sales. Maybe that's a subscription offer and it doesn't have to be a huge launch. It could be a special this week. It could be some sign up now and get this box. It could be a product that you're dropping. Maybe you've got something for Valentine's Day. Like, let's get some sales rolling back in. Let's— you probably, if you're like me, have had a crap ton, and that's an official word in my dictionary, crap ton, crap ton of cancellations between December and now January. And I'm probably going to get another crap ton by the end of this month because people are resetting, people are People are cutting back. People are, you know, it just happens every year. It's like clockwork. December and January are my highest churn months because people spent too much money in the holidays and they're cutting back. It's not you, it's them. Please remember this. If you have to write that down and put a sticky note on your computer, it's not you, it's them. The number one reason people canceled their subscription for me in 2025 was financial. And it's probably the number one reason for you too. Okay. It's not about you. It's about them. And I don't want you to get discouraged by it. Instead, we need to get our offer out in front of more people. We need to talk about our subscription. We need to— the call to action. We need to ask them to join, tell them what we want them to do. Okay, so let's create some momentum with our subscription. We need to get some new subscribers this month. Mini launch, ad campaign, email campaign, whatever you want to do. Let's get it on the table. Like, it doesn't have to be a full-blown launch, but can you do like a 4-day promo? Sign up now, send an email every day, go live every day, throw an ad out there for the week if you want to. Like let's get some momentum back in people subscribing and people are subscribing. Like I just looked this morning and I had 2 new, I had 2 new subscribers overnight. I'm getting about anywhere from 2 to 5 new subscribers a day right now is because I'm running an ad campaign. I'm not showing up selling my face off. I'm just running an ad campaign in the background. So people are subscribing. Okay. So we just have to get our offer out there in front of people and people will join. B-roll is just a term. It's just short video clips. So when I say B-roll, it could be me walking through the airport. It could be me walking through the warehouse. It could be, you know, just any little thing like I'm going to take a bunch of B-roll as I travel to the mastermind. So getting loaded in the car, getting out, getting in the hotel, setting up the meeting room, you know, B-roll of me welcoming my members into the room as we get started on day 1. That's B-roll. Okay, so just little short video clips that you can use a voice overlay on or text overlay on. Okay. Week number 1, clarity and cleanup. Week number 2, visibility and voice. Week number 3, make an offer. Invite them to join. Let's go make sales. Week number 4, I want you to reflect and reset. I want you to take a look at what you've done this month and tweak your plan and roll it into February. So continue to clean up listings, continue to show up and get visible, continue to make offers. We don't have to only make an offer when we're launching. We need to be getting subscribers every month. And we need it right now because we're getting cancellations. It's the nature of our business. Last week, I just— I got 3 new sweatshirts designed. I threw them out there in a promotion where they were $10 off for 72 hours, and I sold over 100 sweatshirts in 72 hours. I haven't sold 100 sweatshirts in I don't know how long. People are buying. People want to subscribe. So don't tell yourself— there's these lies that we tell ourselves sometimes. January is not a good month to sell stuff. January is typically my second best month of the year because I have the momentum off of December. January is my second best month of the year. People are putting all their cute little Christmas shirts away and they need something fresh in their closet. I'm here for it. So think about how your product, how your niche can revive in the new year. Pick some action items, make yourself week 1 goals, week 2 goals, week 3 goals. We have to start making small actions. Maybe week 1 is to get some new followers on your page. Maybe week 2 is to send an email. Maybe week 3 is to go live for the first time. Start giving yourself some actionable items that if you're a box checker, that you can check that box. But we can't let another month go by without taking action. We have to build that momentum. We as entrepreneurs, we have to be self-motivated. And if you're not self-motivated, it's never going to work for you. So how do you motivate yourself? Give yourself some tasks, give yourself some accountability, write it down. And if you need a fresh start, if you need to, like, okay, I just need to reset. 2025 was a hot flaming mess. I need to reset. I need to start over in my brain. Go watch my Six in Sixty workshop. Start fresh. Curate your fresh boxes. You can find that at sixinsixtyworkshop.com. It's free. An hour. Save an hour of your time today or this week to go refresh what you need to be doing to build your subscription box business. But sitting this month out is not going to work for you. You're going to lose all the momentum, or you're not going to get started. Every month we don't get started is a month wasted. If you're feeling behind, if you're feeling overwhelmed already, just take it one thing at a time, one thing at a time. But you've got to keep building momentum for yourself. You've got to be self-motivated to make this work. I've got some wins here that I want to share before we get done, because our members inside Launch Your Box are making progress every day. And sometimes it's not progress of I made sales. That's just one thing. There's so many little things that you can do besides just making sales. Paula H started going live on social media and actually loves it. Courtney B gained 600 new followers from a page like ad that she learned inside our Launch Your Box training library. Jocelyn, who's here with me today, you see her in the chat. She said she packed and delivered 225 boxes as a donation It's great for her know, like, and trust factor and brand awareness. Jen hit 9,000 followers on social media. Andrea had huge success clearing out her inventory in the 12 Days of Deal promo that I taught inside Launch Your Box. Everyone's on a different path. There's 5 different people here doing different things and having wins in different areas. We've got to grow. We've got to sell. We've got to put these things into place. I have a whole library of things that you can do at whatever stage you're on. We just have to start taking action towards our bigger goal. And so I want you to use today as just a fresh start. Let's leave whatever baggage we have in 2025, like whatever didn't work out for you in 2025, whatever hiccups you had in 2020, let's just leave them there. Just leave them there. We're starting fresh. We can build momentum. We can hold ourselves accountable and we can make progress and growth in multiple areas of our business. And that's what I want for you. And that's what today is about. So I'm just going to give you my momentum. I'm going to give you my courage to show up, get visible, and make progress. All right, I'm off to Dallas for my mastermind. Um, I'll be sharing some behind the scenes of that with you, but have a great week and I'll talk to you soon.
