Hey everybody, we are getting connected in all the places right now, but I'm super excited because I have the Fuzzy Shark. She's known in our mastermind as Fuzzy Shark. Amy's here with Amy Sews, and we've got a super inspiring story to tell you about. We're going to talk about her journey into subscription box, subscription box ownership. Um, but I would love to just get the chat started a little bit, um, with are you in a crafting space? So Amy's in the crafting space, she's more in the quilting— not, it's not quilting, sewing space. I get them mixed up a little bit. Are you in a crafting space? Let me know in the chat. I've got two chats going on right now, one's inside Subscription Box Week, one's on the main page and on YouTube. Um, but I'm excited to be here. Amy, why don't you start by just introducing yourself and talking about a little bit about how you got started many years ago?
Yeah, so I'm Amy Bachman from amysews.com and then Amy Bachman Sew and Quilt. So I just— and just to put things in context, I'm 61, right? So learning, right?
Can we also just mention we have multiple 60-year-olds in our Mastermind that are killing it.
Yes.
Okay.
Yes, crushing it. Absolutely. So I've, uh, 34 years brick and mortar, right? So I am a sewing machine retailer. We sell sewing machines from $99 to $20,000, and we sell quilt fabrics, we do classes, we hold events. And so that's always been kind of my foundation of my retail life. And so, um, about 19— no, 20— 2001.
I was like, 19 what? We're going away.
We're going back. So yeah, so 1991 is when I started, which—
when you started your, your business, my business, my retail business, right?
So 2001, 2002, somewhere in that day, I went and started doing online classes. And, um, it was in Yahoo Groups. Like, that was it, the Yahoo Groups.
And I went to now MySpace world right there, right?
That was before MySpace. I didn't know MySpace existed. Google Groups, Yahoo Groups, whatever, chats, whatever they were back then. And I wish I would have known now what I knew then as far as nurturing the community. And because after a while I got so sick of it, I can't do this anymore, and I walked away.
Okay.
So I had, you know, 300-plus classes I still have on CDs that we mailed to everybody. So, but doing kits is part of what the retail, what we do for the classes.
So, you know, you were building what kind of kits, and they were kind of one-off sales, right?
Project kits, right? So like this tea towel behind me, you get the tea towel, you get the fabric, you get the design, you get whatever. And that was a normal thing for retail. You show up for your class, here's your kit in front of you. So, you know, as everybody did on COVID, we just kind of redirected. And I was sending out kits and doing live Facebook prior to me knowing you. And you showed up on my Facebook feed one day. And I'm incredibly skeptical of everybody. And I thought to myself, well, It's just $15. What am I going to lose? Right. So I'll listen to somebody talk to me for $15. It's fine.
Yeah.
All of a sudden the light bulbs just started exploding and that's just what it was. I'm like, oh, you ding dong, you're already doing this, but you're not doing it right. And so here we are.
Okay. So I show up in your feed, probably like many of you in Subscription Box Week. If you'd never heard of me before, before I showed up in your Facebook feed, just say Facebook feed in the chat because I really need to know this. I spend a lot of money showing up in your Facebook book feed. Yeah. Um, but that's how Amy found me. And, um, okay, so you, you go through the Post-it Note Challenge with me. We lay out what— like we did last night inside the group, we lay out what this could look like. And which box did you start first?
We started with the Brother Scan and Cut, right? So I looked at all the equipment that we sell, and I picked two that had the biggest pain points as far as learning and education. I wanted to really drill down and sometimes I think I went too far, but it's working out okay. So the Scan and Cut started first and I was fortunate enough that I already built a community. I already had a couple thousand people in a Facebook group. People knew me from inside the industry. So I just said, hey, I'm going to do this. And then automatically overnight, 100, like 150 members, which—
Okay, let's, let's stop right there because you just said I had a couple thousand people in a Facebook group, right? Which in Facebook land is not a lot of people. And from that, you converted a couple thousand people into a couple hundred subscribers, right?
Overnight. That— I didn't even know what a launch was. I just said, I'm going to do this, who wants to let me know?
Okay. And that was for the Brother Scan and Cut. So what kind of— what kinds of things did you have in your box?
So I tell everybody I put dirt nothing in the box, right?
There's nothing.
There's nothing. It's $65. Every other month. It's bi-monthly. I base a lot of the— I put a $38 value on the education. They get a live Facebook class, and then I— it's recorded. Any PDFs and patterns they can download in their library. Um, and so inside the box, again, you may get a tea towel, nice tea towel, chunks of fabric. Um, I always put like some sort of a goodie in there, like whether it's a some sort of, uh, tool, a weeding tool or something that's relevant to the ScanNCut, a pair of scissors or something along those lines. And then, um, that's it. I mean, in tissue paper, in the pretties, right? And it wasn't pretty, Sarah. I've never done anything pretty until I started watching the box openings, and I'm like, oh my gosh, I was embarrassed for myself when I was mailing people. So now there's pretty inserts and their little tip sheet and you know, doing the little extra, um, details in there. But some boxes are heavier than others, you know, as far as maybe, maybe they'll get like a yard of fabric and some, some fusible web. Or, you know, this time they got little wooden trays and some fabric to go inside of it. So the box has never been probably any more than a $20 retail.
Okay, because you're selling the how-to, right? You're teaching them a skill, you're teaching them a project, you're teaching them how to use their ScanNCut machine, right?
Right. Yes. And they have the option of class only for— I think it's $37, I think. Um, but less than 10% get class only, and those who do get class only are Australia, England, South Africa, places where we can't mail it anyway.
Okay, so you start this thing off, you start with 150 subscribers, and I remember this, I remember this picture of your boxes. I don't know if it was on like a cart or if they were stacked behind you, but I remember your very first picture of your 150 boxes, um, as you were along this journey. What happens next? Like, how do, how do we continue to grow that subscription?
So I did the wrong thing. I started another one instead of drilling down and making the Scan and Cut a monster, right? So then I started with, oh, that's doing so well, let's do the serger thing. And again, that's kind of— it worked out, but it's been hard focusing and growing both, right? And then I, a year later, threw a tea towel thing in there, which it may disappear. But, um, yeah, I did it wrong. But looking back, I mean, it's worked out organically because I wasn't doing a lot of Facebook ads. I wasn't doing the things because I still am head knee-deep up into my retail store, right? I didn't give that up. So I'm— now I got two monsters I'm juggling. And, um, so I just let it keep growing organically. People talk about it in Facebook groups I have, and I use the term influencer lightly because there are people in the industry who have known me a long time and they just talk about it. Like, you know, I sent them one and like, oh, this is so much fun. And they're in the classes and because they're learning too, because if they're in the embroidery space they want to use their Scan and Cut to cut things out. So they both— boxes have kind of grown organically.
I just pulled us up in the group because, you know, Facebook is weird, Amy. So I have— we have almost 300 people watching us from inside the group, but I had no comments. And I went and just made sure we were connected there, and there's 150 comments over in the group that I have— I haven't seen. Okay, so let's, let's go back. Everyone's saying way to go. You can't see this, but they're super excited. And Natalie says wants to be like both of us when she grows up, and she's well on her way.
I love her, she's doing great.
So we start subscription number 1 from a couple thousand people in a Facebook group. We get a couple hundred people into the Scan and Cut box, right? Then we start— is it the Serger box? Is that the next one? Yeah. Okay, tell me about that box. It's for a different machine. If you're not sewing inclined, um, these are different machines, and these are types of machines that Amy, um, sells in her, um, retail shop. So Serger is essentially— let me give you— let me see how much little knowledge I have. It's like one particular thing that goes on the end of the fabric. Is that all it is?
You could do construction with it. I say it's like the microwave to your oven. You still need a regular sewing machine, but this gives you like the commercial finishes. It looks like it— you bought it at the store. It replaces the old school zigzag, and it's faster, cleaner, that kind of thing. It's great for knits.
And this is very niched down.
Yeah, very niche.
This is a very niche down machine that is— someone very specific has this machine, right? Yes. So you launch the serger box. What's it called?
Um, it's just Power Serger Subscription Box. I did it, I did it all ugly.
It was fine.
Just the Scan and Cut box is fine.
And how many subscribers do you have in this serger box?
So we're hitting that 3-something.
Mid-300 subscribers in a very niched-down sewing machine that does one thing box, right?
And again, my Facebook page on Amy Sews, although it was hacked 3 years ago, still is at 3,900 people.
Less than 5,000 people.
Less than 5 on my retail page. So they're just people who want to be there. They're not people who just like for the fun of it.
So, so this, this is what when we talk about finding the right person and niching down and finding your sweet lot. Like, this is very niche. If she just did an all-in-one sewing box, I guarantee you it would not be as successful as her niche boxes are. Because when we go too broad and we try to talk to everyone, we're talking to no one. So she is talking to these people that have a serger machine, and let me show you all the things that you can make and do with this serger machine. And I'm going to put a kit together so you can work on projects with me. You're getting value out of the machine I probably sold you, or a machine that's been sitting there for a while, and I'm going to show you how to do different things with this one thing. And when we talk about niching down, this is exactly what I mean. We can't— we gotta quit going too broad. The boxes that we see in Launch Your Box, Amy, that go broad are not as successful as those that niche down. So we got subscription number 1. How many subscribers do we have in the Scan and Cut now?
Mid-500s.
Mid-500s. We started at $150, we've got mid-500, we'll say $550. We got $300 over in the serger box, but we got something else that we did too, right?
So the scan, the tea towel of the month thing, I'm like, I am nuts. And here's— I mean, I have a friend, it was really could use the extra couple hundred dollars a month. I'm like, look, if you do everything, prep everything, I'll put it out there and I'll just give you the money and So I mean, I still make profit on what goes in the box, but I'm paying her to pack it and do the classes and everything. So that's 90-ish, which it gets no love, you know, because she's not a Facebook person. She doesn't do videos or anything. So I, I kind of did a thing and I don't want to pull it back, but I just don't have the energy for 3.
Yeah. So you want to focus on the 2. Um, you've been building your audience for these two subscriptions.
Right.
We're at over 900 subscribers among the three of them. And let's talk a little bit about, let's talk a little bit about what this has helped you do with your retail business. Because I came from brick and mortar as well. I had a gift shop and this kind of got me started with the subscription box. I thought I, you can only reach so many people with a physical location. And so this was a way that we could get our things out into the world without having to have multiple locations. So let's talk about how these 900 subscribers and the income that it's bringing in has helped your retail business.
Well, it helps a lot because those of you who are in retail understand, I just put things in perspective. My rent's $10,000 a month. My payroll is $12,000 every 2 weeks. We've had a very, very rough retail couple months. I can't wait till this election's over, but I don't have to worry about paying myself. I don't have to worry about, you know, are the lights going to stay on? I don't have to worry about any of that. Although I do try desperately keep my box money separate from my retail, um, you know, meet retail money.
You need one part of the business to fund the other part of the business, right?
Right. Yeah.
Because things ebb and flow. Sometimes the brick and mortar is going to be the higher performing, and sometimes the online is going to be higher performing. And we've seen that over the last several years kind of go up and down with the our world dynamics, our world economics. But we don't always have to be full force on both income streams. And that's the beauty of having a recurring income stream. Sometimes it helps float other things that we've got going on. Right?
Right. Absolutely. So my personal life, I'm not panicked where before I was always saying I was shaking the couch cushions to make sure everything was okay. But the recurring has been Just amazing. I can't say enough about it. And I think the, the biggest thing I had— and again, I told you, I'm, you know, I have trust issues, I'm skeptical about everything— but my 34 years of retail, which I'm blessed to say I'm in the top performers right across the brands that I sell, um, I thought I knew it. Hey, I've been doing kits and events forever, what's the big whoop, right? And I didn't know what I didn't know.
Subscription box, right?
Yeah, I didn't know what I didn't know. And the online marketing world is so different than my Google Ads driving people through my door, because that has a mileage for comforts, you know, you know, an hour. Some people travel an hour and a half, but that's kind of like the max. Where now I'm reaching everybody. And the weird thing is, is now, like, we're— Bernina and Brother launching new machines. Hey, do you have the new machines? I'd like to order it from you. And so I am selling machines to my box people, especially Scan and Cuts, right?
So Well, there's someone here online that just said they need a— they really want a serger so bad. Well, now you know where to go.
Now you know where to go. At least if I like— I try to want you to buy at local dealers so you get your lessons, but I can at least give you some little bit of guidance though. You can reach out at support@amisews.com. Don't give me 600 emails, it's going to take me a minute.
Now listen, what I'm seeing in the chat right here, there is a lot of people in the chat— you can't see this because it's in the group, but, um A lot of people are in the brick and mortar industry. A lot of people have a retail shop and a lot of people are saying, you know what, I needed to hear this. So let's go back into, I'm retail shop Amy and I'm thinking about starting a subscription. I saw this crazy girl in my feed named Sarah. She charged me $15 to come to this wild week of training and I did this. And what were you thinking as you were starting to lay out this subscription box plan for your ScanNCut machines?
I realized I'm already doing it, right? So I already know the education, I know the projects it makes, I know all that. And I have— and again, if you don't have money to bootstrap your box, you have stuff in your retail store. For the— so the first thing I did when I kept a little ledger about what I stole from my retail store was—
you stole it for the other business?
Let's see. I did.
I mean, I hear Amy say she stole some stuff.
But my husband's very, you know, financially minded, so we had to keep track of what I was borrowing, let's say. Um, so I walked in my retail store, I was like, wow, I got a lot of this. How can I translate that? That was the first box, right? So I only need to cut, you know, 150 little squares or whatever I was putting in it. So again, the first couple boxes was really before I even found you as far as like the pretty stuff and The— I totally understand the community building online now, which I was fine with my retail people. It's so easy to face to face to build a relationship, but now I'm trying building relationship with people outside. So I think it was the same customer, but, but in a different space. Yeah.
So it was very easy to reach new customers with this subscription box the same way that I was. Like, I could only reach you if you lived in the tri-state area. Right? Like, if you are Texas, Oklahoma, and maybe Louisiana, I got to touch you because I was, I was that, I was that close, right? But when we start thinking about how this world is so big, like, how many people out there in the United States own a serger machine? And how many people is it just sitting there and collecting dust because they bought it for something specific and they're no longer doing it? And how can I reach those people and bring their machine back to life, right?
Right. And in, in perspective, I bet you only 15 people that come to my retail store get my box. Yeah, because first of all, they already have access to you. So I'm thinking, oh, everybody who comes here is going to want it. Well, that wasn't the case. And you know, no matter— I think no matter what kind of retail you have, look at your best sellers, especially if you have a point of sale system where you could break it down, like what's the What's my bestseller? What time do I sell? And then that's what you go with, right? So, and, and going to the, the Mastermind group or going to Sub Summit, and, and now I'm kind of in your world, seeing what people have for a subscription still boggles me to death. I'm like, oh my God, that's insane.
But what's the most wild subscription you can think of that you've seen out there?
Um, men's, the underwear. Right, the underwear. Okay, right, men's underwear, men's and women's underwear. He would sub-summit.
Yeah, I have that subscription, Splendies. Is that— I have Splendies subscription. I get 3 pairs of underwear every month and they're cute and they're, um, it spices up my underwear drawer. You get stale with your undies, right? Like, you need— you, you don't buy them enough, let's just say that.
You know, until they're like rags, throw them away more often.
Do you know you should throw away a pair of panties every 6 months. Yeah, I mean, the fibers break down.
Yeah, when they're rags, you get rid of them and get new ones. So this— I mean, and we've seen everything from, especially in the craft space. I worry about the people that are having just a generic craft box because it fits everybody but it fits nobody. Yeah, I, I think when I see, you know, people like a specific medium, they do really well. You know, um, but it's— yeah, there's— and the people with the digital downloads, I'm totally jealous, right? That's—
yeah. So Christy's asking if you see a ton of people subscribing as a gift. Do you have subscribers?
No, I don't. This is because when I— I just started doing Facebook ads, but any emails or anything I've ever done, the pain point is, did you waste your money buying this? Because that's the pain points I hear at the store. Oh, I wasted my money. I hate it. You know, I want to— and when you hear in your retail store customers with feedback, then that's the pain point you need to find, right? That's what you have to fix. Like, if you sell, um, clothing and everybody complains that, oh, there's never enough plus-size clothing, well, there's your boutique thing right there.
You got to go after what You gotta go after the larger, the larger market that's looking for you. Yeah, right.
Yeah, you have to look and see what people complain about or what sells best.
Um, so there's a huge discussion in the chat, Amy, about this underwear subscription. Um, so I'm just going to address this, that yes, I have worn underwear with the elastic hanging off the cotton because I just didn't want to throw it away and have to go shopping for new underwear. This is when you need an underwear subscription. It's called Splendies. Um, it's super cheap. And, um, anyway, he was at Sub Summit. The founder of Splendies, CEO Splendies, was at Sub Summit last week. He's an incredible dude. Like, he's a really good guy. Yes, he's very giving with his knowledge. He's very helpful to other people in the industry. So anytime you can support a business that is run by people like that, 100%, that's what I want to do. Um, okay, so now we've got subscriptions, you've got your brick-and-mortar store. How do you manage both of them? Because you just told me you're leaving to go on a cruise. Do you know that Amy sells machines on cruise ships? I didn't even know this was a thing, but she will go on cruise ships, teach classes with her sewing machines, and people buy sewing machines while they're on these ships. Tell, tell people about this. I didn't know this was—
so we're leaving for Alaska on Saturday. We're doing a Scan and Cut cruise, so they are bringing their own Scan and So I just sell accessories and add-ons there. But a lot of times, if you want to go on a— there's sewing and embroidery cruises, really nothing to do with my box, is more my retail. But you know, you get on there and you think you have a great machine, and all of a sudden I put in front of you the biggest, baddest machine there is, and you're like, oh, my machine's nothing, right? So we give them a good price because we ship it, there's no taxes in international waters, you know, we kind of put this package deal together. And, you know, it's kind of cool beans that— and a lot of people don't have dealers close to them, or they don't— they live in the middle of Iowa where there's nothing, and so they don't know what's new and exciting. So it's an opportunity to get them, and then of course you sell your boxes while you're on there.
So, um, it's an incredible business model. Who knew one sewing machine shop could have 900 subscribers and go on cruises throughout the year selling her machines? Like, who knew this, this life existed? And it's pretty incredible, right?
Yes, I'm, I am so blessed considering over the 34 years there's been some very low lows like 2008, 9/11, some really difficult times, and then there's been extreme highs. And I think with retail it's hard to save your money to level things out because inventory turns, nothing is what you expect, right? With recurring revenue knowing that I may lose a couple subscribers or gain a couple subscribers, my retention rate is 98%. So wow. It's, I have people who've been in the 3 years and I'm like, what are you people doing with this stuff?
Do you have like subscribers that are in multiple subscriptions of yours?
I have some in all 3s. I call them the double Ds or triple Ds. They're just the doers. They do all of it.
The double Ds and the triple Ds. Okay. Yeah.
And they get it all. And, and they are, my demographic is say 50 plus. Okay, they're usually widowed or not married.
They have time on their hand. I'm gonna have a little bit of discretionary income, right? And they're, they're doing your things.
Yeah, my, my kind of acronym for them is LOMLOTS— lots of money, lots of time. And they want to be attached to somebody. They want, you wanna, you know, do what you're doing or learn what you're learning. I'm guessing probably 60% never open their box. They just know every month they get to visit with people. So that's— we're launching something else in the fall, but that's a whole different discussion.
And when you say they get to visit with people, how do you create community around these subscription boxes?
You, you, you encourage them, but when they— when they— they won't post directly on your Facebook page, but they'll send you a picture. So I post the picture and make a big deal. Look what she made. It's so exciting. And if they send me a question, I make sure I answer that question. And I personally sign off the email, even though, you know, I may have someone else helping with emails or, but I want them to know that's me and you genuinely care how they're doing with their equipment right now. Unfortunately, you learn life stories and you hear all kinds of things, but that's That's part of it, right? If you aren't a people person, probably building a community is a little harder. But then bring someone in who's willing to do that. Bring, bring in a front-facing person. I had Jim join me. He's incredibly talented. He does half the classes with me, and I was afraid to give that up because I, you know, it's Amy Sews, where's Amy? People don't care. They want to be part of it, and they want to be part of something bigger than themselves. House.
Yeah, a lot of time we think it's about the stuff, we think it's about the product that we're providing. And while we, we want to provide great quality products and, you know, things that matter, it's about being part of something that's bigger than yourself. Even for someone like me where I don't teach a skill, I don't teach a craft, I don't teach anything in my subscription box, my subscribers stay because they feel like they're part of a community. They're a part of community of women that like the same things and are similar people. And that's what we're creating here with our subscription boxes. We're going to do some training tomorrow inside Subscription Box Week. I'm going to walk through how I curate an experience with every single box. We touched on a little bit of it last night during the Post-it Note Challenge, but I'm going to go in depth. There's a reason Amy has a 98% retention rate. There's a reason I have a 96% retention rate. 96 of all the people every month stay, and next month 96% of them stay again, and next month 96% of them stay again. There is a reason for that, and it's not about the stuff that's in your box. And if we can get out of our head thinking that it's about the stuff— we want to curate a great experience with that stuff, but it's honestly about how that stuff makes them feel, or how the community makes them feel. That's why people stay. Amy, let's talk a little bit about Launch Your Box. Yeah, I just got to share with you that we've added over 150 new members into Launch Your Box in the last— just since we've started Subscription Box Week. And I'm excited for them. I'm excited for them to really be able to spend some time digging into their box concept and actually get going. If you look back at your time in Launch Your Box now, Amy is in my mastermind, so I have 3 levels. To my coaching programs. I have Launch Your Box, Scale Your Box, and our Elevate Mastermind. And Amy's in our Elevate Mastermind. Now, thinking about your Launch Your Box days, what is the best part to you about being in Launch Your Box?
I think because you have it broken up into these segments that are very doable. And I want to, I want to call it a science because it's, if you do the little modules and you build, it's going to be fine. It's when you think you know something more than what's in those modules, that's when you get into trouble. And that's how I got into trouble. I'm like, this chick doesn't know what she's talking about. I've been doing this for 30 years, right?
She wasn't even born yet when I started this.
I know, but Launch Your Box clarified everything for me, that it is doable, it's obtainable. And I saw the energy within the group and the questions were being answered and I just, you're very giving. I mean, for knowing what I have paid in my past for advice, consultants, that kind of thing, this is a dang bargain for what you get because you can very easily launch and launch well, um, inside Launch Your Box.
Yeah. And I think the best part is just what we're talking about with our own subscriptions. The best part is the community. right? We can see it in the chat here. I can see Kendall said she joined yesterday. I see Amy joined. I see Lori joined last night. I see Lena joined yesterday. Alicia joined today. Like, this is what I'm talking about. It's the community. You're coming, you're coming to join Launch Your Box for the information, but you're going to stay for the community. Amy's part of the mastermind. Because of the community that is in that mastermind. Yeah, I'm a nice little perk every now and then. She gets to see me 3 times a year, but she stays for the women that are in that mastermind. And that's what we're building in Launch Your Box. You've seen how I organize a community inside Subscription Box Week. And if you're not part of Subscription Box Week, you can still jump in and join us. Just go to subscriptionboxweek.com and sign up. We only had one day yesterday, so you can go in and watch the replay from last night, and then I'll be back tomorrow for training round number 2. But you can join us in Subscription Box Week still. If you're in Subscription Box Week right now, the call to action here is to join us in Launch Your Box. We have Bonus Number 1 that goes away tonight at midnight. That, that means you can use what you paid for Subscription Box Week toward your first month inside Launch Your Box. You get Bonus Number 2, which is VIP after-hours chats. That is only for our new members. So it's a very small group and you'll get connected with me right away. And I've already I've already written some notes based on a lot of last night's questions. We're going to talk about pricing tomorrow night in our after-hours chat. So that's going to be a great chat for you to join. And then you get bonus number 3, which is our engagement library of a year's worth of social media posts. And so you can join right now and get all 3 of those bonus. The first bonus ends tonight at midnight. And I want you to come join us, right, Amy?
Like, yeah, absolutely. We're in there all the time, all the time, and somebody's always there if you have a question. And it may be someone from Scale Your Box who's rolled back to Launch Your Box to answer a question, or as we've grown, that's the number one thing. And in the mastermind, there are ladies there that have unfathomable subscriptions, right? Yeah, my perspective. But everybody participates, you know, there's not one person that's so snotty about what they do, they don't share anything. And I think that is unbelievable. And then in very few industries, if you're in retail, you understand exactly what I'm talking about. Everybody's so territorial and protective of what they do because everything's a secret. Um, this is a whole new experience and it's been a game changer for me.
Yes. And, uh, team, I can see in the group, will you— can you draw drop the link for them to join. It's a special secret link because it's not available to the public right now, and a coupon code. If you'll drop that in the chat, in the group chat, I'll pin it so everybody can find it. But this is, this is the time, Amy. Yeah, this is the time for them to start making steps. We talked about it a little bit this morning on Monday Momentum. This is the time to get in and start making progress. Whether you're 61 or 46 or 25, if we would have known what we know now at 25, could you imagine what we would be today?
I'd be on a yacht somewhere, bebopping around. That would be, that would be my thing. I would own the world at this point.
So yeah, like you just have to get started. And Amy's a great example of just taking what you know and putting it into a recurring revenue stream. For her business. She'd been selling machines for years. All she— and she'd been selling kits for years. All she had to do was get organized with what this actually looked like for her business and then started putting the pieces together to make it happen. 900 subscribers later, Amy's got 3 subscriptions. I have no idea what's up her sleeve next. She just dropped that bomb on me right there. We're going to talk about that later.
That's right.
Um, and she's able to have steady income when sales are down. I remember us talking, I think maybe was it last, early last fall, sales had been rough, like we weren't getting enough people in the door, right? And sometimes that happens. So having this revenue stream has been a game changer for her business, and we want it to be for yours too. Oh, I see the comment over here. I'm gonna see if I can pin it.
On your own business now, you need to take this time to work on your business and not in your business. You can't be on the sales floor all day and not be working the back end. And that's— you have to step aside and work on your business. And this is the perfect thing to do. And oh my gosh, in the scope of things, it is nothing financially, nothing. I, I would literally empty the ashtray in everybody's car in the parking lot to get that monthly fee because of how it changed everything.
It changed everything.
Yeah.
And what I see in you as you've built your business online I've seen your confidence level increase. I've seen your knowledge about online business increase. And I see you just leaning into things that you never have leaned into before. And I'm so proud of you. And you should be so proud of you. And last call, come join us.
That's right.
Inside Launch Your Box. You won't regret it. Use your $15 from Subscription Box Week, apply it to your first month of membership. That ends tonight, so we would love to have you. And then I'll be back tomorrow for training day number 2. I'm going to show you how to curate an experience, because it's not about the stuff, it's about the experience. Amy, thank you so much for joining me.
Sarah, everybody, click that Join Now button. I'm telling you, I'm telling you, you have to trust me with this one.
You're so sweet. Whoever needed a serger machine, holler at Amy. Go find her at amysews.com, and I'll see you back in the group tomorrow morning.
Bye guys! Bye everybody! Thanks Sarah Williams.
Thank you.
