Sarah Williams explains why waitlists need automated emails instead of just sitting dormant. The first email should confirm they're on the list, show a personal photo, and pitch a product they can buy now while they wait for the main launch.

I just went through a launch, I sold out, and now I'm closed. So I have my waitlist up. So what I want to make sure is that I have an email automation triggered when someone joins that waitlist. The purpose of your waitlist is to capture those people that have said, yes, I want in. This could be prior to you launching, you have a waitlist set up right now, you're collecting people that are saying they're interested. Or maybe you're running an open/close cart where you're closed Currently you're sold out like me, I have a waitlist up and so I'm collecting those people. But what I don't want those people to do is just be collected in a bucket and they don't hear from me. I wanna set up an automation so that I can nurture them until I have my cart open. So the first email on a waitlist automation is you're on the list, this is what it means, here's a picture of me in the box. And then, oh, by the way, did you know you could grab one of our past boxes and I'll ship it to you. Super easy. It's like a short paragraph, a picture, a short paragraph, a button to buy.
