This is a short interview with Clint Pulver recorded at the EO Alchemy event in Salt Lake City. Pulver introduces himself as a professional speaker (over seven years), shares his central mantra—"It's not about being the best in the world; it's about being the best for the world"—and recommends books (How to Win Friends and Influence People; A Million Miles in a Thousand Years; StoryBrand). He describes life-changing habits (consistency; doing secret good deeds) and names his top non-financial investments as people—God, family (wife), and close friends. He closes with a desired legacy phrase paraphrasing Oscar Wilde: "Live, don't exist."

So if you can tell me your name again, you hear it? Eo give me just 30 seconds about yourself.
Yeah, cool. My name is Clint Pulver, and I'm here at EO Alchemy. We're hanging out in Salt Lake City, and I've been a professional speaker for over seven years, traveling the country, helping people to connect with the younger generation, but also helping the younger generation connect with themselves.
Awesome. You certainly connected with everybody last night. Is there any mantras you have or, you know, sort of affirmations or any mantras you live by that have gotten you through any hard times?
Yeah, absolutely. For me, it's not about being the best in the world. It's about being the best for the world. And that mantra is something that I live by every single day and trying to do something bigger than myself, and in doing that, helping other people, being the significant person, not just the successful person. So it's not about being the best in the world, it's about being the best for the world.
Awesome, man. Two or three books you think everybody should read.
Absolutely. So how to Win Friends and Influence People. Amazing. My favorite book of all time is Think. Actually Not Think and Grow Rich. A Million Miles in a Thousand Years. A Million Miles in a Thousand Years by Donald Miller changed my life. It's all about how to make your life a better story. Read the book. The other book is by Donald Miller, and it's called Story Brands. And if you're in any part of business or anything that you're trying to create, anything in your life, Story Brands, read it. It'll change your life. It's awesome.
Speaking of reading, two or three habits, do you think have just changed your life for the better?
I think. I think the power of consistency, my mom always taught me little by little makes a little a lot. So doing little things day after day, consecutively matters, and it creates results. So that's been a huge one. One thing for me, too, is to do. To do a good deed and keep it a secret. If you can do that every day, there's something about just that, that sense of looking and being aware of how to serve and help. I'm not perfect at it, but it's been something that has definitely helped to have gratitude, but then also, again, to be the best for the world.
Outstanding investments, not necessarily financial, could be emotional, spiritual, whatever. What are some of the best investments you've ever made?
Yeah, the best investments for me, obviously, number one is people. And I guess within that, I would say for me, on a very personal level, God is a major investment in my life. Second would be my family, my wife. And third, the power of good friends. You know, classic Jim Rohn. You become the average of the five people that you associate with most. Show me who your friends are and I'll show you your future. That investment in good quality relationships, connection, people, and surrounding yourself with people that you like yourself best when you're with them. Best investment I've ever made.
Final question. Billboard word phrase you'd love to see on a billboard. When you pass on, what's the legacy to leave behind?
I would say to live is the rarest thing in the world for most people merely exist. And. And that's all. So I guess the billboard would say live don't exist. That's a quote by Oscar Wilde. But live don't exist. We need more people to live in this world.
