This is a short conversational excerpt from a YouTube interview (Scott Empringham with another speaker) about marketing strategy. The speakers emphasize documenting progress publicly (the "human highlighter" idea), sharing work-in-progress on social media (example: announcing joining Global Speakers Academy), and rejecting the ‘wait-to-launch’ model in favor of ongoing storytelling while building a business.
The one thing I did differently. A lot of the other students were. I think they waited to market themselves.
They were like, okay.
I've got my speech. Now I'm going to try to market myself. I was already talking about what I was doing at Global Speakers Academy before I went. Oh, my gosh, I just signed up for this thing called Global Speakers Academy. I'm going to be able to tell my story. And so I started talking about that on social media.
You were documenting again, I want to pause. People don't miss this. This idea of the human highlighter. A lot of asking. And you were talking about what you're doing in the midst of building another part of your business, a different branch of your business. You're not waiting till it's done to present it or to. I think the old model is. I'm going to launch. Yeah, right. Was this idea of. It's email. Email, email launch, the course launch, whatever. And what I love about you and what I'm reminded of just in. Even in our newer ventures is talk about this.
