This is a short YouTube interview clip (uploaded Dec 20, 2022 by Scott Empringham) featuring Renee Marino, an actress, bestselling author and communication coach, explaining how failure and rejection set you up for success. Marino emphasizes "fail forward," taking imperfect action, learning from each rejection, persevering, and reframing 'no' as 'not now' rather than a statement of self-worth. She draws on her Broadway/film/TV experience hearing many 'no's' before a 'yes.'

How does failure or apparent failure actually set you up for success? Listen to what Renee Marino says. She's an actress, best selling author, communication coach, absolute expert in communication. Here's what she says.
It's all about the learnings. Fail forward, take imperfect action. My background is as a professional performer on Broadway and film and TV and there is no world bigger that teaches you about rejection and failing forward more than the entertainment field. How many no's I had to hear before I I heard the yes and that taught me about pushing through, persevering, leaning into to the core of who I was and not letting the nos and the rejections be a reflection of my own self worth or my talent or skill. And that was the greatest lesson I could learn. Even if something is a no, it's not a no because I'm not good enough or what I put forward is good enough. It's just a no for now and what can I learn from it And I bring that with me every day.
