A short personal reflection (YouTube video) by Scott Empringham offering three core life lessons: guard your mind (be intentional about media and what you consume mentally), guard your body (watch diet and substances influencing health), and guard your environment (choose people and surroundings deliberately to accelerate personal change). The speaker emphasizes these lessons developed over time and the outsized influence of media, food marketing, and close relationships.

I love this question. I wish I learned these lessons early on, but I didn't. They evolved over time. I never realized how profound these lessons were until I got much older. Guard your mind, Guard your body, guard your environment. 1. Guard your mind. The stuff you put into your brain, the stuff you spend time scrolling throughout social media, the stuff, the movies, the videos, all the stuff you watch, has a profound impact on you. It did on me. I'm very intentional about what I put in my mind now, so I guard it. Second, guard my body. I've got to get better at this. But guarding your body, what you put into your body, that too obviously has a profound impact. There's people that have paid millions of dollars to get you to get addicted to all kinds of sugary crap or salty crap and put it into your body and tell you you're doing something good for yourself. Guard your body, guard your environment. The people you surround yourself with will have more of an impact on you than you could ever imagine. Your wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, significant other. Your friends. Change your environment and you can change your life faster than you could ever imagine.
