Conversation in a YouTube video where Scott Empringham describes being in a personal financial crisis and deciding to apply the same marketing strategies he used for large automotive clients (GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota) to market himself. A friend prompted him to ‘market’ his situation and consider running a workshop; Scott recognized his strengths in identifying target audiences, core messaging, 60–90 day marketing plans and sales-event-style campaigns and applied those techniques to create an opportunity for himself.

You have access to this network, they give you the idea of doing a workshop. And I think even a story you shared with me, remember, in Mexico, was like, what I do for me, what I told my clients to do up to this point. Right. Am I following the story correctly?
100%. 100%. I was. I was in sort of the pit and thinking that just. I was just desperate. And then one day a buddy of mine comes by and he kind of gives me a rap on the. On the head. And I started thinking about it that, well, wait a second. And he actually is the first one actually pointed out. He goes, this could. He goes, you're marketing it, right? Yeah. He goes, the fact that you're broke. If you could turn this around, imagine the story that would be. So I finally started to myself, what if I could do for me what I did for my customers? And by the way, my customers were like the king of sales events. Gm, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, the Toyota Celathon. Like, that's what I got really good at. Identifying a target audience, building out core messaging, setting goals, metrics, core messaging, marketing plans at, you know, all that stuff for 60, 90 days, drive customers and sales to any day. So a guy said to me, what if you could do that? I said, if I could do that for me, maybe I have a shot.
