A short YouTube interview (uploaded Dec 5, 2022 by Scott Empringham) in which speaking coach Jimmy Hayes Nelson argues that businesspeople are constantly 'on a stage' — from boardrooms to one-on-one conversations — and therefore must develop storytelling and communication skills to lead teams, grow business, and serve customers. The clip stresses that one-on-one interactions can be as powerful as large-stage speaking.

Are you a business owner that's not focused on improving your speaking skills? I caught up with legendary speaking coach Jimmy Hayes Nelson and founder of the well Crafted Life, and here's what he had to say.
So for business people that think I'm not a public speaker, but you are on a stage. And a stage may be the boardroom with your team. The stage may be across the table from a prospect. A stage may be the uncomfortable conversation with your boss. And everything that I teach as far as storytelling and connecting and a call to action works in a one on one conversation. It can work in a boardroom, it can work on a date, it can, it can work with friendships or people in your family. But that business person that thinks I don't need to work on my speaking skills, at the heart of this, we're talking about communication skills. And they do need that if they want to have a great team, if they want things to continue to grow, if they want to serve their customers in the best way they can, those communication skills are vital because those one on one stages are just as powerful as the 5,000 person stage.
