Stop measuring yourself by whether others approve and start asking if your actions fit who you're actually building. The speaker argues that external reactions are just data, while your self-crafted identity is the real standard for what you do.

Now, from now on, when something happens, you don't ask, did they like how I handled that? You ask, did I act in line with the identity I'm building? If yes, well, you learn, refine, move on. If no, just adjust your behavior next time. You don't have to beat yourself up. Their reaction is data. Your identity should be the standard. And if you want this to go deeper, that's exactly why my coaching program, Identity Reboot, was formed. You take the version of you that's been built by other people's expectations, you strip it down, and you rebuild a solid identity you can actually live from in your work, your relationships, and your own head. See, you're not broken. You've just been playing a game where the rules change every time someone's mood does. You don't need everyone to agree with your version of being a man. You need to be able to look at yourself and say, I know who I am, and I acted from that.
