Is your Vape Pen Toxic?

Sherry Caplan Stalino, founder of Connected Wellness, breaks down three questions to ask before buying a vape pen: Is it just cannabis and organic cutting agent, no flavoring or polyglycols? Is the oil in glass or ceramic, not unknown materials? Is there a ceramic barrier between the medicine and metal coils? Check where it's made and prefer organic parts.
Hi and welcome back to our channel. Is your vape pen helpful or could it be toxic? I'm Sherry Caplan Stalino, founder of Connected Wellness. I am sure you have been hearing in the news all different things about vape pens, so I thought I would help set the record straight. So most of the vape pen information that you're hearing does have to do with the e cigarette industry, but for the cannabis industry I wanted to share with you some basic guidelines that have been put out there by some of the experts who are producing vape pens. So here's that information. One, the cutting agents that are used to make the vape pen matter. You should only have cannabis and an organic cutting agent in that vape pen. So when you purchase your vape pen at the dispensary, remember to ask what is in this vape pen? Pure cannabis with an organic cutting agent or does it have something like flavoring or polyglycol? You do not want that. You want organic cannabis and you want an organic cutting agent. The second thing you need to be asking at the dispensaries is the cannabis itself sitting in a chamber that is glass or ceramic or is it sitting in some other material? There was recent testing done with some vape pens out of China that showed that the the chambers that the cannabis was sitting in in the vape pens were had toxic chemicals. So not to give China a bad rap, but sometimes the materials are not made well enough to to handle the medicine in the vape pens. So be sure to ask where those vape pens are produced. The actual device of the vape pen. And then the third thing that there has been a lot of talk about that could help make a vape pen saf. The actual medicine in the vape pen is not touching any metal or any of the heating coil. That means that there would be a ceramic separation between the heating coils and the actual medicine. So that's another question that you can ask at the dispensaries. I hope that's helpful for you when you go to the dispensaries and go to purchase your vape pen so that you can pick a vape pen that will be more safe for you. I hope this information has been helpful and as newer information comes out, we will share that with you in up and coming videos as well.
