Sugar is not your friend. I have a woman who has Alzheimer's and she was doing great. She had cognitively declined a little bit and all of a sudden she became wildly psychotic. Her husband couldn't dose out her insulin properly. The home healthcare aides weren't giving her her insulin on time and they were giving her bread for breakfast and sandwiches for lunch and chicken and pasta for dinner. We got her into the, to a psych hospital and I called up the doctor and I said, Before you give her medicine, can you just regulate her sugar? And they did it for 3 days and she was back to normal. Not only was she back to normal, she regained a year's worth of milestones that we lost from all of the sugar.
