In this instructional video, Shaun Whynacht demonstrates a simple method for downloading videos directly from Facebook when the original source file is unavailable. He explains that by modifying the video page URL—replacing the leading "www" or "business" segment with "m.basic"—the user can access a basic, low‑resolution version of the video. Using the browser’s right‑click menu (Save Link As/Save Target As), the video file can be saved locally. Shaun notes the downloaded file is lower quality but sufficient for purposes such as backing up Facebook Live recordings, extracting audio for podcasts, or re‑uploading to platforms like Vimeo or YouTube. He walks through examples both in Business Manager and a regular news‑feed context, showing how to locate the video URL, edit it, and download the file. The tutorial concludes with a call to like, comment, share, and subscribe.

Have you ever had a video that you've uploaded to your Facebook page and you just cannot find the source video file? You want to put it somewhere else, you don't have it, or you just want to have a backup copy of it. Maybe this is common if you've done a Facebook Live and you'd still like to have that physical copy, maybe for a presentation. Well, what I'm going to show you here is how you can download an actual video from your Facebook page. So here we are on our Facebook page. We're just going to scroll down until we come across one of the videos that, that are here. So I'm just going to click on it so that it opens up in the video viewer page. What we have to do now is in the very top, mine says business because I'm in Business Manager, but yours might just say www because you don't have Business Manager. But whatever the case, you're going to replace that first part with the following: m basic. And when you do that, it's going to give you this basic version of Facebook, which is very primitive. And what we can do now is if we right-click on this, we're getting options to Save Link As. And we get this on a, on a PC, you'll get Save Target As. On a Mac, it's Save Link As. But when we do this, it allows us to now save a copy of that video file to your computer. And I've already did it prior to this, so I'm just going to show you here. I'm going to pull it over So here's the video file. Now one thing that I'm going to mention is it's not a high-res version of this video file. It is a low-res basic version, but it's better than nothing if you want to have it. Uh, and especially if you're doing something like a headshot video where you're talking to the camera, it's not as noticeable that it's low resolution if you upload it to anything like Vimeo or YouTube. But when we're getting into tutorials where we got some fine detailed text just like this, probably not the best kept video for that, but at least you can get great audio. So let's say you're doing an audio interview or video interview with somebody, you can at least save it this way, strip off the audio, use it into your podcast. So remember, you're gonna go and you're gonna put it into your browser and change the www or the business with mBasic. Now let's go ahead and look at regular Facebook. Let's just see if we can find a video in your newsfeed here. I'm just going to see if we can find one. My luck, probably we won't find one that we can use. Let's just see here. So here's one here with Ron Howard. What we want to do is we want to right-click on it at this point and we're going to say show video URL. So we're going to copy this to the clipboard. We're going to go ahead and we're going to put it in a new tab and we're going to paste it. Here's where the www comes in. We can change this to M Basic. We got this view. Right-click, Save Link As, Downloads. Downloads here. So we can go ahead and grab that video file. And just like magic, also a very other simple but important shot, there's the video file. So it's as easy as that. Remember, M Basic. Hopefully you find that helpful. Hopefully it saves your bacon every now and then. And I appreciate the time watching these tutorials.
