How To Get Started with LinkedIn Live

Shaun Whynacht walks through the LinkedIn Live application process step by step. He emphasizes providing a sample stream link, describing educational content you'll produce, and committing to a realistic schedule like weekly streams. Honesty matters: reviewers manually check submissions, and sales pitches get rejected.

Hey everyone, it's Shaun Whynacht here at Blue Cow Marketing. Well, this video I'm going to show you how you can apply and get started with LinkedIn Live. That's right, LinkedIn is now offering live video streaming. So you're probably familiar with it from Facebook being able to go live, but now on our favorite professional platform LinkedIn, you could have the option to do so. Now it's not available for everyone. There is an application process. So I wanted to show you how you go about doing it. Now the link to this page is below this video in the comments. You can go and click on that. So how it's all going to work is you need to go and fill out the LinkedIn Live application, then they're going to review it, uh, and then select your streaming tool and all that kind of stuff. And then, then they'll integrate that tool with your LinkedIn. So first step, we're going to go and we're going to apply to LinkedIn through their application. Now I already did this, but I just wanted to show you this, what you can do. So we're going to click on this, come up, and they're just going to ask you some questions like what is your email address, Are you applying to stream as a member, so as you, as your personal LinkedIn profile, or under your LinkedIn business page? Okay, so you're going to pick that. What's the URL to that profile? What's the name of the company organization you wish to stream from? How many connections do you have? What region are you based? Do you currently stream on other platforms? This is going to be key because they are reviewing this. They're manually going to check this out. So in our case, we do stream live on Facebook? So I chose yes. And then if answered, post a link to a video that you screen or that you have streamed from. So we did, we went and found one of our stream videos and we put that link in there. What do you want to stream live on LinkedIn? So they want to know some information about what it is that you want to put out there. Obviously, if you say things like, hey, I'm just going to try to sell my products, you're probably not going to get approved. It's going to be something where they want to provide value to their members. So in our case, we are providing educational content, tutorials, things like this, like you're seeing, as well as training and presentations and all that kind of stuff, right? How often do you want to stream? Now, don't keep it— don't look at this and say, okay, they'll approve me if I say, you know, at less than a month or monthly, right? I put down weekly for ours because we want to be consistent. We want to provide valuable content. Daily might seem a bit excessive, but I think weekly is a good frame of mine for that. And then is there anything else you'd like to know? Just write in there why you want to do this. Be legit, uh, and be honest and truthful in there. The last part down below is if you are streaming from a page, they want to know different page URLs, um, that you are streaming from. And then you hit submit, and it'll probably take a couple of days to hear back. But this is the first step if you plan to be doing some live streaming or want to do some live streaming on LinkedIn. This is what you need to do. So visit the link down below, right down below this video. Click on this, go to the application, and fill it out and get started. Hey, what's the worst that could happen? They'll just say no.
