How to randomly (and creatively) select a winner for your promotions with this online tool.

Shaun Whynacht shows how to use pickerwheel.com to run transparent giveaways and random selections. Import names, spin the wheel in full-screen mode with sound and confetti, then manage winners by hiding or removing entries. Works for customer promotions, sales meetings, or team idea rotations.

So have you ever wanted to do a giveaway in your business and you just didn't feel like it was coming across as legit because, you know, you just, you randomly picked it out of a box and you went on social media and you said, hey, here's the winner? Well, this site here, pickerwheel.com, is completely free, uh, and is a great way for you to actually show people how randomized any draw or giveaway you have is. And I want to show you how this all works. So go to the site and then you have what are called inputs. And this is where you can start to put in the names of people that you want to add in there. You can also go ahead in the top and go to, um, sorry, not there, to this one here, viewer import inputs. And you can actually paste a list. So if you have people opting in, let's say in a CRM or you exported a list from something, you can copy and paste all those names in there and then they'll show up in that list. As well. So for example, I'm just going to show you here. This is one— oh, not that one there, wrong thing. This is an export we did. We're testing a contest with the client, and we don't want to give away their actual email address or anything, but we have a bunch of first names. We actually exported the ID of the contact record in the database. So what we're going to do is we're just going to highlight this whole list here. I'm going to copy that to the clipboard. We're going to hop over here. I'm going to paste it in, and as you see, it puts the ID name there. And we can say add the list. So there we go. It starts to populate that whole list. Now on the bottom left-hand side, you got sound, you can turn that on or off. Let me get rid of the little ad here. And the really cool thing here is you've got your full screen mode. So it can come up like this. So you can go ahead and you can either stream live or you can record a Loom video just like I'm recording for this one here and then post that later. So you can be like, hey guys, we're gonna give away whatever the prize is, right? A new blank. So here are all the people that entered the contest. Let's go ahead and give it away, right? You hit spin, it's gonna spin, it's gonna do its thing. And this is my favorite part right here— boom, confetti and everything! Okay, so in this case it comes up with their name. You could have their first and last name, that doesn't matter, completely up to you what you want to have in their free tracker. But what we're doing, uh, for our client is we are actually having this ID show up here so that we can then search the database and make sure the right Gabby has won. Now, if you're giving away multiple things, you've got the options here to click Done. It'll actually just stop and you can spin again. It'll leave Gabby in the list. You could hit Hide Choice, which will actually remove her from the list so that she doesn't win again. And this Count One, I haven't really tried this one. Let's just see what— I don't really know what that did for me, but regardless, in most cases we're either going to take them out or we're going to leave them in. Okay, and then down here you can actually go open title section, so you can give it a name up top. What else we got here? Enable the weight. Oh, I don't really know what we— okay, so I guess we can give people, let's say they got like 2 entries. Right now everybody in there is evenly weighted on the randomization, but let's say, you know, some person has double entered or whatever, you want to give them extra weight in the draw, you can go ahead and put the those in there. Shuffle, which will actually shuffle the order, so randomize that part. So yeah, so you might want to even do that to show people why you set it up, that you put them in, you're going to shuffle and randomize it. And you can reset all counts, remove all inputs. So if you want to remove them all, you can do that and it comes back to this. File— what's this? So you can save a list to the file, come up with a file, delete, save file. So yeah, so really cool site, check it out. It's pickerwheel.com. I recommend if you're doing any kind of draws, even if internally in your team, you're on a sales meeting or a team meeting and you got a couple people and you want to give away a gift card, Amazon gift card or something like that. This is a kind of cool, fun way to do this kind of thing. Or here's another idea. Maybe you got a group of 10 people and you want people to share their ideas, right? You want to randomize it, put all the names in here and then spin it and be like, okay, you know, Jeff's up next and then okay, next, Sally's up, right? So that's a kind of a fun way to bring this kind of excitement to your team, to your clients, and to your business. So if you found this helpful, go ahead, please like and subscribe to the channel. We love putting these videos together for you. Got any questions about this? Leave it in the comments. I'll be happy to answer it for you.
