How To Take Control of Your Business Facebook Messages

In this tutorial Shaun Whynacht of Blue Cow Marketing reviews the Aerie Messenger for Businesses app, explaining how it solves the problem of missed Facebook Page messages by pushing notifications to a mobile device. He demonstrates the app’s core features: connecting a Facebook Page, receiving real‑time pop‑up notifications, composing and sending saved replies, creating message templates with image or button attachments, and linking those buttons to external tools such as ScheduleOnce booking pages or an Infusionsoft information page. Shaun walks through the step‑by‑step setup of saved replies and button templates, shows how to send them, and highlights practical use‑cases for small‑to‑medium businesses (booking calls, directing prospects to product pages, lead magnets). He also cautions against over‑reliance on bots, emphasizing the need for a personal touch. The video ends with a call to action to subscribe, like the channel, and use the app to improve business communication.

Hi, Shaun Whynacht with Blue Cow Marketing. Another video review here for an app this time. I think this app is filling a void. I know for our business it has been a great addition. We've only been using it for a couple of days now, and I'll tell you a bit about why we came to look for an app such as this. If you're using Facebook Pages for Business and you know people are notifying you or sending messages through your inbox or directly message you. Sometimes you don't always get those notifications. You gotta log in, go look for them and so forth. Becomes a bit of a headache, you're missing opportunities. So I was looking for a better solution for that and I came across this app right here, Aerie Messenger for Businesses. And it was a free app to install, put it on my iPhone. And when I started to use it and look deeper, I found a lot more functionality in there that could be really useful for any small business. And I wanna show you some of that here in this quick tutorial. Tutorial. So again, the app, you just connect to it once you download it, and then you can authorize your Facebook account to push your page's notifications into it. So I have my app, my phone here connected as well, so we'll bring that up on the screen and we can just quickly take a look at the app. So we see it there on the bottom left-hand side called Aerie. And one of the cool things about this, I'm just going to go into the chat quickly from myself when I tested this. As soon as somebody sends a message through your Facebook page to directly message you, you'll get a pop-up text notification from the app on your device. So you're able to go in and then communicate back just like you would any other messenger, right? You could click and type and, you know, write your message back. But where the functionality really becomes a lot cooler is down here at the bottom, right next to where it says message. You see that little box with some lines in it? When we click on this, we can actually use this to create the saved replies that you would be able to do if you went and logged into Facebook and add the saved replies in there. But you can also add templates. And what I've done here is I created a simple template here because at our company we like to get clients on a call first so we can talk about their business and learn more about them before we even offer any of our solutions to them. And we call that a marketing blueprint. So it's a common thing that we would do is want to send them out a link to be able to book that. So I created this and I basically added this button in here and I'll show you how to do that in a second. And I could send this message back to myself here as a message. And what I would do is allow them to go ahead and they'll read the message and then they'll have a link down below to go to a URL. Now obviously I'm going to put this in here. I forgot an L. As you can see here, the pop-up messenger came up on the top that the message was brought back. So if I go ahead and go into my Messenger and I quickly take a look at that reply back, it came from myself here. See, so this is the message back. I could book a Blueprint call. Now when I click on this, what it's going to do is it's going to flip me over to my browser and it's going to open up that URL. Now we use ScheduleOnce for booking our calls And it's going to allow me to go and connect, or the contact or the prospect to connect to that URL and then go ahead and do whatever it is that you want, right? So we can then go ahead and book now our marketing blueprint. Pretty cool, right? I thought so. So let's go back and quickly show you how easy it is to set one of these up. Now you can either go into the messages down below here and you can go in and click on the little settings button. You can go and hit plus, and you got different ones. You can do save replies, you can add image templates, so you can actually put an image into the message and send it back to them, or a button template. Let's go ahead and use the button template. So I'm gonna call this one Infusionsoft page, okay? Because we have a page on our website for Infusionsoft, because that's the CRM that we use and recommend for small business. It's common that I wanna direct people to that from Messenger. So here is the link to our Infusionsoft information page. Okay, I'm gonna fix that up a little bit here, fix all the typos, just commonly, Whenever doing a demonstration or recording, you can't type. It's just a biological issue that happens, of course. Uh, here's a link to our Infusionsoft information page. Okay, so I'm going to do that and I'm going to add a button. And obviously you can add more than one button in here. So I'm going to call it— what's the name of the button? So see Infusionsoft info. Okay, so it cut off the letters because, um, it doesn't allow you to put more in there. So let's go ahead and fix this up, and we'll call this Infusionsoft page. And I'm going to put in the URL, HTTPS. I use a security certificate. You should do that as well on your websites if you have the ability to do that. Just makes things more secure. Ca/infusionsoft. There I go, mistyping again. All right, so there is our URL, and we're going to click Done, and we're going to click Save. Now we've got the template in there. So if I wanted to send that one, quickly click on it— oh, sorry, let's go back and close this. If I wanted to use that template, I I could go ahead and click on it and hit send. So really some great functionality in there to allow you to, to add in common things that you would be sending to people and allow them to actually click on buttons and go directly to the message, to the websites or the URLs that you're talking about. So think about the possibilities in your business. If you book meetings commonly or you sell products, maybe you've got 4 or 5 products that you have and you wanted to create links directly to those products or special promos or lead magnets, so to speak. The functionality is endless in this, but it allows you to have 100% complete control of that communication. You're hearing a lot about bots and it being able to then do those communications. I'm still not 100% sold as a marketer to suggest that people go the route of relying solely on communication with bots from their business. You want to be able to still have that personal touch with your clients and using an app like Area Messenger. I hope it stays around for a long time because this fills a void that was missing from the small business to medium-sized business world when using Facebook Pages and the Messenger side. So hopefully you found that helpful. Hopefully you use it and you get some effective results out of it. And if you like this video, please subscribe to our YouTube channel.
