A seated glute stretch for your left side. Place your left ankle on your right knee, keep your spine straight, and lean forward gently if you need more stretch. Stop if it feels aggressive or uncomfortable.
Chapters
So in this stretch, we're going to be stretching out the glutes. I'm going to be stretching my left side, and what I want you to do is take your left ankle and place it on your right knee. In some cases, you might already feel a stretch into the glute muscle in this position. So if that's the case, stop there and just make sure that your spine is nice and neutral and upright. If you get a sense of feeling that the top of the cranium or the head is kind of elevating towards the ceiling, you should be able to feel a nice stretch into the back of the hip, into the glute area or the pelvis. If it isn't as much of a stretch as you'd like, you can gently press through the left knee very, very gently, or gently lean forwards with a straight back so that you keep your spine nice and straight and you don't slump, or you'll lose the stretch. So nice and straight and gently lean forwards, and you should get a really nice stretch into that glute. If at any point in time you become nervous about it feeling uncomfortable and that the stretch feels like too— too much of an aggressive stretch, pull back from the position, let the leg down, and give us a call.
