Shaun Whynacht argues that service businesses shouldn't quote prices in the first 10-15 seconds. Educate prospects on what makes you different first. If they only care about price, they're not your client anyway.

Hey, it's Shaun Whynacht from Blue Cow Creative. I have a question for you. If you are a small business owner, whether you're dealing with somebody who's calling about products in your store or if you're a service provider and you have incoming calls regarding that service that you provide, if in the first 10 to 15 seconds one of the questions that that potential client asks you is how much is your service or product, Now if it's a standard product and it is a base price clear across the board no matter whether it's you or your competitor, then this doesn't apply to you. But if you're service-based and you provide added value, whether it's in how you provide the service or how you follow up, you need that opportunity to educate that prospect about the value that you provide. If they're basing their decision, their purchase decision, solely on the value or what they conceive as the value of what that product should be worth, then you don't need them as a client. They will not value the service that you provide if they're solely basing it on the ticket price. You first need to educate your clients. You need to tell them about what makes you different, what makes your service or your product unique compared to your competition. If you do a great job at that and you do a great job at educating that prospect, then when it comes time to say that price, they have all the information they need to validate whether your price is worth what you've described it as. So do that, keep that in mind, and you'll will be great at growing your business. I'm Shaun Whynacht from Blue Cow Creative. Check us out online at bluecowcreative.ca.
