In this brief video, a farmer from Atlantic Canada reflects on the severe economic hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially for small business owners and rural families. Expressing personal empathy and noting the shutdowns that have affected the region’s food supply and livelihoods, the speaker urges viewers to shop locally during the holiday season to support small businesses and sustain rural communities.

It has been a tough year for all of us in Atlantic Canada. My heart goes out to those impacted by COVID-19. Small business owners had to shut down for months for all of our safety. As a farmer who puts food on the table for families, I've seen the pain in our economy due to this pandemic. I feel it myself. That's why it's important everybody shop local this holiday season and support the small businesses and families of rural Atlantic Canada.
