Speaker Marketing Tip: The Problem With Speaking

Shaun Whynacht explains why traditional sales tables after talks lose momentum and money. Instead, use text opt-ins and shortcodes so attendees buy on their phones right after you finish, then pick up items later. Captures sales while energy is high and eliminates lines.

If you're a speaker and you've been on stage, you know it's really hard to get people to sign up for your newsletter, to purchase your products after your speech. You know those tables that are at the back of the room where you've got all of your products listed and people can come by and pay for them? You know what the problem with that is? Congestion. Those people who have just listened to you on stage and are really pumped up and they want to buy your products and services and then they gotta go back and they gotta stand in line for for sometimes hours depending on how long that line is. What if there was a better way? Well, there is a better way because everybody that's sitting there in the audience at your presentation has a phone in their pocket. Now, if you're already doing what I'm about to tell you, fantastic, you're ahead of the curve, congratulations. But for most people, the barrier to this is technology. You know, text opt-ins and getting people to purchase online while they are already watching your presentation or immediately when they finish is a great way to get your content in their hands. What about offering pre-sales? So at the end of your presentation, they can text a code or they can go to a shortcode website and purchase your products right there. Then all they simply have to do is just come back and pick up the products at the pre-purchased line. This is ultimately the best way to do it. Now, here at Blue Cow Marketing, we're focusing on trainers, coaches, and speakers as our key niche demographic because we're speakers, we're trainers, and we're coaches. So it just makes perfect sense. And what we really geek out on is the technology. And I know, I know, a lot of people really don't like the technology when it comes to having to learn it and figure out how it all works. But that's what we do. We love using that technology. And more importantly, we love helping other speakers, coaches, and trainers use technology to better engage with their audience. So if any of this resonates with you, heck, you know what, come to our website, bluecowmarketing.ca, or wherever you see this video, you can reach out and contact me, and I'd love to talk to you about what your business structure is all about and how we could leverage technology to better engage your audience. So thank you for watching this video. Hope you have a great day.
