In this solo video, Shaun Whynacht shares the personal "why" behind founding and continuing his work at Blue Cow Marketing. He traces his entrepreneurial roots, recalling how a school poster at age 16 revealed the family legacy that led him to start his first business as a DJ at 17, later evolving into video production and marketing. Shaun emphasizes that his work is driven by connection and passion, not merely selling. He explains that for small‑business clients, marketing should be about helping customers, which naturally leads to sales. He outlines the services his agency provides—email copy, podcast production, video creation, and scalable systems—each designed to help clients connect more effectively. The video ends with a challenge for viewers to reflect on their own purpose, asking them to identify what excites them each morning and how they can communicate that passion to others.

You know, I've been asked many times why I started my business and why I do what I do. And this is probably a question that you get asked from time to time. Maybe even if you're doing an introduction at a networking event, that's one of the things they ask you to do. So I want to tell you my why. Why have I created, why do I continue to do the marketing work that I do here at Blue Cow Marketing? Well, it all stems back to thinking about my roots, thinking about where I came from. And I grew up in an entrepreneurial family without actually knowing at the time that I was growing up in an entrepreneurial family until I was about the age of 16. And that's when I saw a poster at school that said entrepreneurship conference. And I asked what that meant. And the guidance counselor told me, well, entrepreneurship is somebody who runs their own business. And that right there was that moment. That was the pinnacle moment when I understood that that's what I grew up in. So it's what I wanted to do. I started my first business at 17 as a DJ that evolved into video production and marketing over the years. Now, throughout the whole thing, it all comes down to connection. It all comes down to passion, things that you are passionate about. Now, I'm not doing the same thing that I've done from the first business. Ultimately, I've evolved over the years, and most Small business owners have done the exact same thing. But when we get to work with small business clients, the main thing that really comes through in speaking with them is that passion for what it is that they do and their passion for helping their customers, whether they're in a service-based business or they're selling a product, everything they do is helping somebody in a different way. So when we are working with clients in their marketing, It's not about selling. It's about helping. And ultimately, when you help, people will buy from you because you're helping them. So from emails that we create, podcasts that we record, videos that we shoot, you know, systems that we put in place, the sole focus is to help our clients better connect, help people more, and do it in a way that is scalable. So that's my why. So I'm going to ask you today in this video to think about your why. Why is it that you do what you do every single day? What makes you excited when you wake up in the morning? And I'm not naive to think that every single day you wake up chipper and super excited to do what you do. We're human. You know, it doesn't always happen that way, but there is a passion there inside. There's something deep inside that keeps you going? What is that? And think about how you can tell others about that. That's your challenge for today. Good luck.
