In this video, Shaun Whynacht of Blue Cow Marketing provides a concise roundup of recent social‑media platform feature releases that are relevant to businesses. He highlights five key updates: (1) Snapchat’s new public business profiles, enabling brands to create a dedicated presence on the app; (2) Facebook’s ability to embed videos that start at a specified timestamp, allowing marketers to link directly to relevant moments in long‑form content; (3) Twitter’s launch of Clubhouse‑style audio Spaces, offering live conversation rooms; (4) Twitter’s revamped About tab that now displays pronouns, verified status and other profile details; and (5) the rollout of Twitter Blue, the platform’s first subscription service, now available in Canada and Australia. Shaun frames each item as a timely opportunity for marketers, notes that relevance depends on the audience’s platform usage, and invites viewers to contact BlueCowMarketing.ca for assistance with social‑media strategy.

Hey everyone, it's Shaun here with Blue Cow Marketing. Today we're going to be looking at what's happening in social media. I got a couple tabs open with some really hot stories and new features in the different social media platforms that you may be using in your business, and I wanted to get this out to you because there's some really great things that are on the horizon. And actually, a lot of these are in play right now. The first thing, Snapchat. If you're familiar with Snapchat and using it personally, you can now use it for businesses. They've introduced public profiles for businesses. All you need to do is just go over to Snapchat and click on the business profile section over there, and you can get started with that. Now, something else pretty cool with Facebook, and you know, videos are extremely powerful and engaging, but a lot of times when you want to embed different videos, you don't necessarily want everybody to start at the beginning. So just like YouTube, Facebook has now enabled the option for you to choose a specific time in the playback when you embed it. So when you go to your YouTube video, you can actually click embed and you can pick the time in which that would start. This is great if you have, let's say, a long-form video piece of content, you want to embed that, that Facebook video into your blog, and maybe you want to have different points in there. You can go ahead and use the same video but have different pieces of content throughout the post. So that's extremely important to be able to do that. Now let's flip over to our guys at Twitter, and what are they up to? Well, they have a Twitter Clubhouse-like Spaces room. So if you're a Twitter user or you have used Clubhouse, They now have the ability to allow you to have spaces and you can join those spaces. Now I've not gone in and actually played with this in detail. These are just hot off the press news items that I wanted to get out to you. But if you are a Twitter user, you can go and check that out. They've also revamped their profiles to now have an About tab, and this also supports pronouns, confirmed statuses, and more. So you can go to your, your profile and you can actually see the About section in the profile, and now you can get more information about those businesses and/or those users on Twitter. They also have a Blue. This is Twitter's first-ever subscription offering, and it has been released in Canada. So Australia and Canada, starting today, June 3rd, this is available in there. So it allows you to have different elements, it's got different features, and it is a subscription-based feature of Twitter, and you can check that out, like I said, if you you are a Twitter user. And this here is the same tab that we just showed you there. I just had it open twice. So there is a lot going on in social media. There's new features that are coming out weekly, and you want to keep your eyes peeled for that because not everything that we're going to mention here is beneficial to you in your business. I mean, if you don't use Twitter, then the Twitter stuff is not important. If you don't use Snapchat, it's not important. But each time these come out, we're going to do videos like this and post it here for you so you can get the most up-to-date news about what's happening in social media.
