Foreign. Hey everyone. Happy New Year's. Happy 2024. Welcome to the Meaningful Revolution podcast. I am your host and certified high performance coach, Sean Butner, and I am really excited to be here with you today. Today we're going to talk about five strategies to win in 2024 so you can have the dramatic transformation your personal revolution realized this year. And for those of you who have been following the podcast for a bit, as we just finished a three day Personal Meaningful Revolution challenge. So thank you if you were there and participated. I am really excited about getting this group going in, building in some structure for myself to do monthly reviews on my personal Meaningful Revolution board. I know people love the training and there's tons of learning going on. As always, this is the fifth year I think I've done this particular training and each year it evolves and gets a little bit better. And this year was no different. So I'm really excited to have concluded that we have so much more support for those folks going forward. And if you missed out, I'm sure at the end of this month there'll be another challenge as we go forward here to help you build your personal meaningful revolution, which is just building into those meaningful pursuits that help you feel alive, that help you feel connected, that help you feel in flow, that help you feel a sense of joy and allow you to have a greater impact on your life, the life of your family and the life of the world around you. So really excited about that. As such, I had a huge plan this year to spend the last two weeks of December really thinking about the podcast, getting some things organized and it didn't, excuse me, it did not happen in the way that I was hoping and I know this happens to us all, but not to say that that will slow me down at all or should slow you down if you're in the same boat. My plan is this next week actually to take another week off to really focus in on the podcast in the way that I had envisioned for myself this year. And it's on the plan to be done in January, so it shall be done. Now what that means is next week we will have another very short episode and in two weeks we'll have a fantastic guest who wrote a book about sale. And so I'm really looking forward to introducing you all to my new friend there. I'll just leave it at that. So stay tuned for that in two weeks and other announcements going on in the business. Yeah, that's it for right now. There is a group coaching a new certified high performance group coaching group I'm running starting at the end of this month and I'll have some information in the show notes about that and I'll talk about that at the end of the episode. But with that said, having just come off of this three day personal, meaningful revolution, challenges thinking about what would be the next steps if you have New Year's resolutions, if you have a plan for 2024, if you are looking to stick to your goals in the next year. And I have five strategies for you, right? And so let's just jump right into it, right? The first strategy for making 2024 your best year yet to radically show up for your life, invest in yourself and make the changes needed to live a fantastic life is to have very clear, big bold goals. And we talked a lot about this last three days on the challenge. But your big bold goals really are your aspirations for yourself in four different areas of life in your career. Like what would be a big bold achievement this year? If you asked for that raise, if you shifted jobs into something that took on more responsibility and provided more abundance for your family, if you accessed that new market, if you, if you really got serious on marketing your business. These are roughly could be big bold goals in your career. Or how about your health? Like getting into the best shape of your life this year, what would it take to do that? And you'll notice that these are big and abstract and should call to something that is important to you and something that describes your best future self. So in the four domains of your life, in your career, your health, your relationships and well being, what would be one big bold goal that if you accomplish this year you would feel like you were progressing your life, you were moving your life forward by accomplishing this. And if you're listening, just pause and take a couple minutes to really think about this if you haven't already. Cool. Awesome. Okay, so strategy two is action as soon as possible, right? You don't want to just think about your big bold goals. You want to be making and taking action on them as soon as possible. That could be first thing in the morning. I recommend the power hour, which is the first hour of your workday. Should be you use to further one of your big bold goals and that could be aligned with your work, it could be aligned with your health, it could be relationships, spending time with family, it could be meditating or taking a beat before getting into the hectic rush of the day. But that action ASAP is you don't just want to think about a goal and say that would Be great and then do nothing about it. That's not a goal, that's a desire. And so we need to make sure that we don't have desires, that we have goals that we are taking concrete action toward. And this is very much a call for me as someone who lives in my head quite a bit, that I could think about all the things I'm going to do. But if I don't take that first step and take it as soon as I possibly absolutely can, things don't get done. I lose motivation, I lose momentum, I lose the ability to actually realize it in my life. And this is something I've figured out over years and years of doing personal development work. Favor action, have. Do the power hour every day if you can. The first hour of work, after your morning routines, after getting ready for the day, should be trying to further one of your big, bold goals that you're very clear on. Okay. The third thing that I think will really help is this idea of an achievement rhythm, meaning if you have your New Year's resolutions, your New Year's revolutions, you have your big, bold goals set for the year. How are you showing up daily, like in that power hour? How are you showing up every week, every month and every quarter? And this could look like, okay, the first hour every day. I'm really focused on moving my business forward, my health forward, my relations forward, and my wellbeing forward. One of those things. And maybe over the week you're doing like, Monday is career, Tuesdays with the family, Wednesdays working out first thing in the morning to make sure that gets done. Thursday is well being and Friday is working out again. It could just be picking particular days to do activities and group them so you're more efficient doing it. A monthly cadence would be like if I have four big, bold goals in my health, my career, my relationships, and well being. Maybe January I am focused on getting healthy. We just had all those Christmas cookies. We just had all of the time together, family and friends and the extra like big rich meals and all that. So a lot of times people try to get healthy in January, but what would it take for you to lose weight this month, if that's your goal? And of course, always consult your doctor before doing any type of health change. But I'm just doing that because I'm not a doctor, just a student of people. So that's a weird thing to say. Anyways, we'll leave it in. Yeah, but understanding what it's going to take for you in a month to accomplish one of your big Bold goals and keeping that on your radar at the beginning of the month is going to be very helpful. And then every quarter it's reviewing how the month went and, or the how the quarter went the last three months and, and doing that assessment, you'll find you will be making tweaks, you'll forget things, you will say, this isn't effective, maybe I need to do it in a different way. And it gets you engaged in the year, it gets you engaged in your personal growth. It gets you engaged in driving that part of your life forward that you want so much, right, to live that great, transformed, magnificent life. So, okay, got the achievement rhythm, breaking it down by day, week, month and quarter. And then we have number four, which is our bounce back habits. Right when we are knocked off course, when life throws us a curveball, when we are struggling to maintain our motivation and momentum, what do you do to get back in the game? And that could be you go, you know, you have to go outside for walks or you do a particular activity, or you phone a friend that's really close to you that can help talk you through something, or you get into a group of people that are on the path of personal development, on growing and the inspiration from what Jane did last week to move her life forward. Or you go and you're like, wow, so Steve really is struggling with that. I'm struggling with that too. But he didn't approach it the same way I did. And maybe we have a brainstorm there that helps us unlock something and move forward in a stronger way. So these bounce back habits and getting around people and having set habits and routines that help ground you and get you back in the game are essential for whatever 2024 inevitably will throw at us. So it's really important to have those in your pocket before you need them. So it's, ah, I don't feel great today. Oh my. I had a client who had a routine of like, eat a little bit of chocolate, do a drawing and do some reading. That was what worked for them. So whatever that is for you have that routine or routines handy to help you break through anything that you stumble upon. And the fifth strategy that will really shift each of your four domains and your big, bold goals is to get into a community of people working on similar things. Especially you can get around people that are further down the path than you, that have more success in that particular area than you. And so what do I mean by that? So if you're trying to get in the best health of your life this year, definitely Go to your local gym and get around people that have been working out for their whole lives and do not get around people that hate working out and would rather do everything else and anything else than get in the gym. Right? Makes common sense. But one, being around those people will cause you to want to step up in your life. You're like, oh, okay, I really need to get this figured out. It looks so easy for them to do this. Why can't I do this? And that comparison, if you don't act on it, can cause a lot of suffering. But if it gets you motivated to get in the gym, right? And maybe you're not doing three hours of cardio that some a marathoner is going to run, but you do your 15 minutes and you show up and you do that 15 minutes over and over again and your achievement rhythm, you'll see change over time. And that's how I ran a marathon. I couldn't run for like 10 minutes straight when I started training for marathons when I was 24. In nine months I was able to do 26.2 miles. I had a plan, I had incremental gains, but I was also very consistent in the days that I did not want to run. Getting up, putting on my shoes, maybe going to the running store to get some inspiration from the people that would come in there because they were also runners. So getting around that community aspect for accountability is super important. So that is our five strategies to help make 2024 your best year yet again. It's have clear big bold goals for yourself that define the best you in the future so you can live into it as you work this year. Take action as soon as possible. Do the power hour which is related to your achievement rhythm. So what are your daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly things that you do in order to advance your big bold goals, your life's goals, your personal meaningful revolution. You have your list of bounce back habits, the things that you do in order to get back on track when you feel your mood's low or you feel unmotivated and then the community accountability of just getting around other successful people in the domain that you want to advance in. Right? And so with these five strategies, I believe you will have a fantastic year. And like I mentioned before, I am starting a new high performance coaching group for this year and essentially Certified High performance coaching is a curriculum that is designed to get you results in your personal development, your personal growth, and help you achieve what you want out in the world. It's very much aligned to this podcast of building a life that you've designed and created for yourself and living into that versus doing what's expected necessarily of you from others. And if you want to do that, that's fine. That could be part of your personal meaningful revolution. But it can be a struggle to stay motivated to continue to see progress. And so getting in a group of people that are dedicated to their personal development, that have invested in their and themselves to advance and progress at a much accelerated rate this year is important. And so if you'd like to learn more about my Certified High Performance group coaching, there's a link below in the bio, not in the bio, in the show notes and that will tell you everything you need to know.
