Hey, friends. Welcome back to the Hit Splits. My name is Shelly Hitz, the owner and founder of Christian Book Academy. And today I just wanted to talk about where do you write? And I've been reading Julia Cameron's book, Write for Life, and I have a feeling I'm going to be sharing a lot of tips and things from that book. It's just, it's a. It's a great book. She's not a Christian. She speaks from a spiritual aspect, but if you're interested, definitely grab a copy. She was also the author of the Artist's Way, and one of the things she talks about is having writing stations. We've talked about this a lot in our writing week challenge of your location, where you write. And a lot of times, you know, we have talked about tracking your writing and seeing, like, where does the writing flow the best? Where do you get the most words right? Like, where. Where just works for you. But Julia also talks about having, you know, several writing stations. And those writing stations can be places in your home, can be a little nook that you have a little writing desk. If you write longhand, like she does with paper and pen, I mean, you can literally, you know, take that anywhere. If you dictate into your phone, you can do that on a walk. You can, you know, do that anywhere. But I was thinking about it recently as I was reading her book, and I thought, you know, I have my one. My one chair in the living room that I can sit and write longhand. And I love journaling there. So. So my morning prayer journal, that's normally where I do that. If I'm having business meetings with God, a lot of times I'll do that there as well. I like writing out longhand, those types of things. And then if I'm actually writing content for a book for our blog, for our email list, you know, a lot of times another writing station of mine is my sit stand desk. It's in our second bedroom, which is my office when we don't have guests. And I would say that is, you know, my main writing station for those types of works. But then, you know, I also decided to set up a third writing station, and I made space at one of my tables that I also use that area for my art. But I thought, you know, I can share this area with writing, so it can be for art, for writing. And I set up that station. And then occasionally when I just need a different place to. To be, I even sometimes have a writing station at my dining room table. So anyways, I just Want you to think through, like what are your writing stations? You know, and she mentioned it could be that you go to a restaurant or a coffee shop. I know for cj, that tends to work best him. For me, I prefer to stay at home. I prefer to be able to just not have to feel like I have to get ready and go out. Like if sometimes I'm in my PJs, sometimes I'm in my workout clothes, you know, or whatever, and I'm just, I, I can just flow with the day and it's, it just works better for me. So anyways, I encourage you to think through and, and think through at least like one or two places at home that can be a little writing stat. You, and maybe you need to move a few things around or set some things up to be able to have that station ready at any time so that you can sit down and capture those small spaces of time. As I talked about on the last episode, we're having a 15 minute writing session this week, so I encourage you to join us if you can live at, on Thursday at 11am all the information is in the previous episode, but this is just a good step to take. And if you're in Christian Book Academy, this week is our 15 minute writing challenge. And so you know, you're just committing to Write at least 15 minutes a day. And I want you to think about where you are writing. Ask the Lord too. Ask him, is there a different place, is there a different writing station that I can add, you know, to the mix to mix it up? Like, you know, so you're not always, you don't always have to write in one place at the same time. This, you know, same place. You can mix it up depending on what you're writing, depending on your mood that day or how you're feeling, or if you need just a change of scenery. And write down, write down at least like one or two stations that, that you can set up that you can know in your mind that you can just go to and, and write. So I hope that this encouraged you today. And let's do this. Let's write just 15 minutes at a time, small chunks of time and just ask the Lord for the words each time we sit down to write. All right, I will talk to you next time. Bye Bye.
