#063 - You’re Doing it Right

Welcome back to the Hit Splits. This is Shelly Hitz, the owner and founder of ChristianBookAcademy.com and this week I just wanted to offer some really brief encouragement just to speak life over you. Being a writer, being an author, doing all of the things of writing, publishing and marketing, it can get hard, it can wear us down, and it can get lonely as well. But I'm here with you in your ears and we are cheering you on. And so this week I just wanted to bring you some encouragement. Encouragement. I know I need it myself. I am preaching to myself right now. I had a really bad day this week and it was really just low and the Lord came in and encouraged me. I was also able to be vulnerable with a couple close friends and they encouraged me. But I just want you to know you are not alone. This is a battle, but it's a battle worth fighting. And today I just wanted to say, you're doing it right. And so many times the lies of the enemy come in and say, you're not doing it right. This isn't perfect. This isn't going to make an impact. Why are you even trying? It's the lies of the enemy. And I want to just come in and say, you're doing it right. Take a deep breath, and wherever you're at right now, you're doing it right. The Lord looks down upon you and he sees you. And even if you are in a place of sin or of, you know, just rebellion and not walking with the Lord, you're able to come back to him in an instant. I actually did that this week. I had some things that I knew were getting in the way between me and the Lord, and I confessed that sin. I repented. I'm changing and it's gone. Like he forgives us. And so if you need to clear the air, so to speak, if you need to come to him, do that right now. Clear the air. So you know, with Jesus, there is no condemnation. That condemnation comes from the enemy. So if you're feeling condemnation today, know that that is most likely coming from your adversary, Satan, the Devil. Ask the Lord. Just be honest. Is there anything in my heart that I need to confess that I need to get right before you? And then take a deep breath and say, lor, I'm moving forward. I'm trusting you in this. I don't feel like I know what I'm doing or I don't feel like I'm doing everything right, but I'm going to trust you and I'm going to move forward anyways. We just had one of our Christian Book Academy members post in the group today that she published her book. She has been battling with this for years. I think maybe she said four or five years. And she said there was so much fear and it was holding her back. And so that might be where you're at too, that that fear is holding you back. And. And today is the day of freedom. Today is the day that the Lord can rid you of that. Just come to him, confess your fear, confess whatever it is coming against you and then ask him for his spirit and his power, his strength to repent. Repentance means turning from that sin and doing something different. What is it that he wants you to do differently? If you need help, we have our Kingdom Writer Renewal Workshop. It really helps you to clear out the clutter of your mind, to overcome the lies with the truth, to really find that freedom in your mind. And I find that this is one of the biggest keys to success is this mental battle that we face as writers. So anyways, I just want to tell you today you are doing it right. So Lord, I just pray your encouragement over each person listening right now. If there is something that is in the way right now, if there is fear or worry or if there is any sin, Lord, we just. I just pray you would show it to them, you would convict them, you would bring it to the surface and that they would confess it to you. They would turn from that sin, they would repent and they would be able to walk forward in the calling you have for them and to write, publish and market their books. So I just pray your blessings over them today. And we pray this in Jesus powerful name. Amen. Amen. Friends, I hope that you feel encouraged after today and just know you are not alone.
