Hey, friends, this is Shelly hitz from ChristianBookAcademy.com with another episode of the Hit Splits. I hope that you're enjoying this podcast and just the encouragement and the strategies and tips that it brings. And it's just something that I can do in real time and just share more honestly, more vulnerably. Today we're just going to talk about being kind to you. So it's so easy to see all of our flaws, to see all the things we're not doing or not doing. Right, right. And to beat ourself up. One of the things that the Bible, you know, calls Satan or the devil, our enemy is an accuser and he comes to accuse the brethren, it says. And so, you know, many times we have these accusations and these accusing thoughts that come. You're, you're not good enough. Who are you to write a book? What, why are you even trying? This marketing thing is never going to take off, you know, blah, blah, blah. And it goes on and on and on. And I've, I've really worked on this over the years and I'm pretty good with it. You know, we have our Kingdom Writer Renewal workshop that I've taught and it's in the Christian Book Academy member area and the Kingdom foundations, or you can purchase it in our book marketing shop. And I teach this, and I've done this in my life for so many years that many times I can just recognize when I am beating myself up or when I'm being hard to myself or those lies of the enemy. But lately it has been coming.
Like, like the enemy's just been coming, like stealthily or like, you know, just a stealth bomber. And he's just coming in in ways that I have not expected. And lately I've just been having these accusations that I'm a failure, that I am not a good CEO and that, you know, why am I even trying to do this? I am not CEO material. And on and on it goes, you know, but basically it's making me feel like I'm a failure in business. And I'm not. You look at the, you know, the statistics. I mean, we have been in business full time now since 2011 and we don't have business debt. We, I mean, we've, we've made it all these years. Most businesses don't even make it this far. And yet we are struggling at, you know, some this this year. And yet God always provides. He always does. But it's just that, that subtle, you know, that subtle voice in the back of my mind that Says you're a failure. Why are you even trying? Why don't you just do something else? You know, you're not a good CEO. You're not, you know, and on and on it goes. For a long time, I didn't recognize it. I just felt it. Have you ever been in that place? You just feel it? It's just a heaviness. It's. Something is not right, but you're just not sure what it is. And then I just started writing and journaling, and I've talked about this in previous episodes. Julia Cameron calls it morning pages. But you just start getting all this stuff up, and this is the reoccurring thing that began coming up and I began to be able to recognize it. So if you feel a heaviness, if you feel like, you know, there's times when you're not being kind to yourself, you're beating yourself up, or there's just a heaviness, you're not sure what it is. So start writing. Start journaling. I call it a prayer journal. Like I said, Julia Cameron calls it writing or morning pages. But you just get that junk out. You just start getting it out and sometimes the. The patterns will surface and you'll be able to address it. So I've been able to address it. I've been able to come to the Lord and ask him to forgive me for, you know, thinking these things and being in this place and, you know, not trusting him as much, you know, and just all the things and, you know, it's. It's my ego too, coming in, you know, pride and. And all of those things. So confession, repentance, you know, we can come clean and you can have that weight lifted immediately, but many times we just need to be kind to ourselves. We just need to be a little kinder. How would you talk to a friend? I guarantee if you wrote down all the thoughts you have to yourself in your mind, and then you started saying those same thoughts to all your friends and family, you might not have as good of relationship with your friends and family over time, right? So why do we do it to ourselves? It's easy to do because we don't think that there are consequences. But there are. There are consequences. And it might have you stuck right now in moving forward in your writing, publishing and marketing of your books. So clear the air today. Ask God to lift that heaviness, that darkness, whatever it is, over you. You. And if you need to just start writing, writing, writing, writing, and just get it out every day, just sit down until it surfaces until God shows you. So let me pray for you, Lord. I just pray for everyone listening and I just pray for any thing that they're struggling with right now, for the ways that they might be accusing themselves or the enemy might be bringing accusations against them. We just pray in Jesus name that Satan be gone in Jesus name that any darkness be gone in Jesus name. I pray that you would reveal to them what it is, what is the recurring theme, what is the pattern and what are their next steps? Is there anything they need to confess or turn from or repent of? And so just pray, Lord, that you would lead them and guide them and bring freedom from any of this darkness and accusations in Jesus name. Amen. Amen. Friends, this is a very common thing. We all deal with it. So don't beat yourself up for even having these thoughts, right? Be kind to you and come to the Lord. He wants to give you freedom and so we are cheering you on and I will talk to you in the next episode.
