#077 - Try a Solo Email Swap
22 Mar 2023 · 4 min
Shelley Hitz (Hit Splits Podcast host and founder of ChristianBookAcademy.com) announces a new "solo email toolkit" designed to teach authors how to set up solo email swaps to grow their email lists. She explains the concept, cites personal experience and a friend (Jess Kotzer) who built 5,200 subscribers in a year using the method, gives event logistics (live implementation session in Christian Book Academy on Thursday, March 23rd), and encourages listeners to join the academy or buy the toolkit to get templates and step-by-step checklists.

Hey, friends, welcome back to the Hit Splits Podcast. This is Shelly Hitz, the owner and founder of ChristianBookAcademy.com and last week after the conference, I really spent a lot of time working on our next toolkit. It's the solo email toolkit. And what this is, is it's going to help you, like, learn the process and have templates to actually set up solo email swaps. So that means someone else that has an email list somewhat similar to you or an audience and or audience similar to you, you agree to share each other with each other's email list, if that makes sense. So I did this back in 2020, and it would just, it happened organically, and I share the case study completely in the toolkit. And it was kind of fun going back and looking at that and seeing how it happened with. But it has actually been very fruitful. And so this is something that my friend Jess Kotzer has done. She built an audience of 5,200 people in a year doing this. And so this is, this is a great option, especially if you already have an email list, even if it's just a hundred people, 700 people, you know, whatever size of email list you have, there are people out there with a similar size or a similar audience that would love to get in front of new people, and then you can get in front of new people as well. So it has been really fun creating this toolkit for you. It will be held live, hosted live, with an implementation session this week. Actually, I think it's tomorrow that it will be live. It's going to be Thursday. Let's see, what's the date? Thursday, March 23rd. But even if you're listening to this later, it's going to be in Christian Book Academy in our courageous writer module. And it's the solo email toolkit. We'll also have it available in the shop, if you want to get that in the shop. So lots of options there for you. But this is, this is really something that, like, if I was starting over, I'd focus on building my email list so that I have, you know, at least a hundred, couple hundred people and then really start doing this where it's like, you know, readers love learning about other books, so making sure that I like that book, you know, making sure that I, I. It's a book that I would want to put my name on because it's your reputation. But this really would be probably one of the, the top ways I would use if I was starting all over. And it was, I was just an author, you know, had books that I wanted to get out to the world. So I know email marketing is a thing that many of you avoid, but many of you came to our conference and you got excited about it again. So come to the email Solo email toolkit. If you're not yet a member of Christian Book Academy, join us ChristianBookAcademy.com and if you are a Christian Book Academy member, come join us and or watch the replay. This is going to be good. We're again, I provide all the templates. It just makes it so much easier to implement. I give you the step by step checklist of what you need to do. You're not having to start from scratch. You're not having to use all your brain power even thinking about how to do it. It's already done for you. So come use this and put it to use. And you know what? God built the body of Christ to support each other, to help one another. What if we started doing this? What if we started promoting one another and helping one another and then it's like Zig Ziglar says, you know, you'll get everything that you want out of life if you help other people get what they want, right? If you're serving and helping other people. But you know, in a collaborative way, it's going to be a win, win situation. So come join us. I'm so excited. Let's do this.
