24 Mar 2023 · 2 min
Shelley Hitz reflects on a busy season managing a conference, email toolkit, and migration work. She encourages listeners to recognize when they need rest, listen to their bodies, and follow the rhythm of "rest then rise," a phrase from her friend Cara Osborne.

Hey, Hitzbooks family, this is Shelly Hits, the owner and founder of ChristianBookAcademy.com today I want to talk to you about seasons. I talk about this a lot, but this last couple weeks, it's been a busier season for me with the conference we hosted with hosting the solo email toolkit, getting the conference back up on Evergreen. And that's something new. And I haven't really talked about that much here, but it's something that we're, we're going to be trying, but there's just been a lot of stuff for going on. And so I have been pretty busy and working actually a little more than I typically do. But still, it's just, it's been a little bit more of a heavier season. And so I can tell my body is like, you need to like, take a rest. Make sure you're not overworking. And so listen to your body. Listen to the Lord. Know that there are seasons. Rest if you need to, and then rise. That's something my friend Cara Osborne says, and I love it. Rest and then rise. So don't beat yourself up if you feel like you need to rest. Rest. Give your body our rest. But don't get stuck there. You know, sometimes we get stuck and we don't rise again and we don't get moving again. It's like, oh, I just want to just relax now. Rest and then rise. So I am going to take my own advice and this weekend I'm going to be resting. You know, I'm recording this a week in advance, so when you're listening to this, this would will have been last week, but I'm going to take some time to rest this weekend. I'm going to get a few more things done that I need to get done today, but I'm looking forward to having some time to rest so. So then I can rise and keep moving forward. Amen. All right, love you, friends. Have a great rest of your day.
