#159: Prayer for Your Book Idea

Let's pray for clarity in your book idea. So maybe you feel called to write a book, but you're not even sure what to write about. Or maybe you have so many ideas you don't know which one to choose. It can feel so overwhelming. But God has already placed a message inside of each of you. I firmly believe that, and he will guide your steps. So, C.J. and I want to take a moment to pray for you right now in this initial phase of just choosing a book topic so that you can move forward with confidence in your book idea. So, C.J. why don't you pray for us in this whole area of just asking God for a book idea?

Yeah. And I want to preface it with two scriptures that the prayer is based on. And the First Scripture is 2nd Timothy 3:16. And it says, all scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we're wrong and teaches us to do what is right. Key word in there is inspired. So God inspires. And then the second scripture is Nehemiah 2:12, which is, I slipped out during the night, taking only a few others with me. I had not told anyone about the plans God had put in my heart for Jerusalem. We took no pack animals with us except the donkey I was riding. And that is in regard to him really surveying the damage of the wall, the destruction, what needed to be done. But the key there is the plans that God had put in his heart he had not shared yet. And Father, we come to you today with each and every one of us. We all have ideas. We all have a longing to write for your glory. And yet we don't just want good ideas. We want God ideas. We want to be inspired by you, Lord. We want the plans that you put into our heart to come to fruition. And so I am praying that each and every one of these kingdom writers would indeed be inspired by you. Lord, we know that if you inspired the holy word of God that endures now and through eternity, that we know you can inspire God ideas within our hearts for the things that you want us to write. And so we're asking, Lord, that you would birth book ideas in and through every single person. And Lord, that you would download the plans just like you did with Nehemiah. Would you download plans that you put into our hearts that. That eventually are finished word by word, similar to brick by brick in terms of them building the wall. May this book idea come to fruition one day at a Time, one word at a time. And we're going to give you the glory, Lord, for the book ideas that you give us, because we know they're inspired by you and not things that we just come up with on our own. So we're seeking you Lord, and we ask this in Jesus name.

The picture God gave me is that each of your book ideas are like seeds. And I have been getting into gardening and even doing some indoor hydroponics. And what I know is that some seeds will germinate and bring forth a plant, some will not. And so I just feel like the Lord was saying that just know he's going to give you lots of book ideas. That doesn't mean every single one has to be published as a book, right? Some will germinate, some will don't ask the Lord what is for now, what is for later, what is maybe for somebody else, maybe you share the idea with someone else. Let me pray for you God. Thank you for all of the seeds that are given to us, these book ideas, and help us just to hold them loosely and just to trust you with which ones are to come to fruition, which are to germinate and become a book, which are for now, which are for later. Maybe some are never going to become into books, but Lord, we just trust you. We trust you with these book ideas. And I just pray right now that you would give clarity to anyone who needs it. What book idea is for now and what book ideas are for later and what book ideas are for someone else, maybe they'll share them with somebody else. And so we just pray Lord, your wisdom, your clarity and that you would just give each one of us such an trust in you with these book ideas. And we just pray this in Jesus name, amen.
