A short podcast excerpt (Shelley Hitz) using a garden-tilling metaphor to encourage writers to "partner with the Holy Spirit" rather than relying solely on personal effort. Shelley contrasts manual hoeing with a rototiller (claims a rototiller can be ~48× faster than manual tilling for 1,000 sq ft) to illustrate supernatural help available to "Kingdom writers," ending with an invitation to ask God for the "rototiller of the Holy Spirit."

Saw this overarching theme of many of you. It's like you're getting ready to prepare the ground for a garden. And the fruit of the garden will be your words, will be your books. And yet I see that there's some of you're doing this manually. Like how many of you have a garden and you've taken a garden hoe before and you've manually, like tilled up your ground. It takes time, right? But there's something called a rototiller. Anyone use a rototiller? And I felt like the Lord gave me this picture that some of you are doing your writing in your own strength. You have that hoe, and yes, you're getting words out, you're doing things, but the Lord wants you to partner with him and with the Holy Spirit in your writing. And it becomes like a rototiller. And I actually looked this up and it said that manually tilling a 1,000 square foot garden could take up to two days of labor. But this could be tilled in just 30 minutes with. With a machine which is 48 times faster at least. So how many of you want to partner with the Holy Spirit? That is the supernatural strength that we have as Kingdom writers. But so often we just try to forge ahead in our own strength and we're getting out the hoe and we're pulling up the things, and yet I want to encourage you to partner with God. And I hope all of you will ask the Lord for the rototiller of the Holy Spirit.
