What do you want to know about Facebook Live or live video broadcasting before you go live the first time? Hi, my name is Shelley Hitz and I have been live broadcasting online since June 5, 2015. So it's been about a year I have been doing this consistently and hundreds of videos later, hours of recordings later, I've learned a lot about broadcasting on live video and I'm going to start sharing these tips with you. I'm going to be doing a free challenge, a free live video challenge starting this next week. And you can sign up for for free shellyhits.com live video. So this morning I just decided, you know, this has been an idea I've had for a long time and I just decided I'm going to email my list. Having a subscriber list is powerful because you can get instant feedback. I was like, I'm going to email my list. I'm going to ask them to let me know if this is something that they want to know. I got back over 50 responses already just within hours. And so I know that this is something that you guys want me to do. So I decided to set it up. One of the great things is once you develop a system, once you develop systems and templates, you can reproduce your results very, very quickly. I just recently did a five day challenge, so I used my same process, my same templates and I got everything set up in just a couple hours and I am ready to go live with this challenge on Monday. Now, I didn't mean to go live this quick with this challenge, but I was looking at my calendar and I have a week vacation coming up. I have another promotion coming up and I just realized it was going to be now or it's going to wait a while. And I'm like, let's do it. Let's just do it now. Let's get this content to you guys. And the goal is by the end of these five days, you will have the tools, the tips and the strategies to go live on Facebook much more strategically and effectively. What is it you want to know? What is holding you back? What, what gets you stuck with recording video? What makes you think that you can't do it? If you're an introvert, it's okay. You can still do live video. So if you sign up@shellyhits.com live video, you'll get access to my member area where the replays will be available, as well as the challenge checklist and the equipment checklist and potentially some other goodies. I think I'm gonna do a bonus video at the end that won't be live. It will only be available for those that see sign up. And it's going to be a special video all about how I repurpose my live broadcast. So that will be a special bonus too. So make sure you sign up@shellyhits.com live video just so you know, I do have an iPhone. I don't have an Android to practice on or to let you know, but as far as I know, Facebook Live has rolled out to most Android phones as well. So if you have an Android phone, check it out, test it, see if you have the Facebook Live capability from your phone and most of the settings and things will be similar. Now, I will be teaching primarily from what I use, which is an iPhone, but most of the strategies and techniques will be very similar. So let me tell you what I'm going to cover each day of the challenge. Day one will be why you must have a specific strategy when you go live and where to start. So, so I'm going to just give you the big picture strategy of how you can use Facebook Live, how you can use live video to sell more books, to grow your audience, and different strategies that you may want to consider. Strategy is so important and so many authors don't think about those things before they get started. So we're going to start there. Day two is 17 Ways to Promote your live stream to get more exposure and better results. So we're going to be going through 17 different ways. Day three is how to properly prepare for each of your live broadcasts and you want to make sure you don't miss any of these important steps. So day three is going to be all about how to prepare for your broadcast. Day four is the exact equipment and setup you need to broadcast live on Facebook. And hint, it's so much simpler than you think. We're also going to be covering in day four how to use the app. So that's where I'm going to take you kind of step by step through how to use the app. And it's so easy, it's so simple. But there are some things that are really key to know and I just want you to get started on the right foot as you're broadcasting. And then day five is it's time to go live. The step by step outline I use to make my live broadcast a success. So I'm going to give you that outline. I'm going to walk you through, step by step, what you should do when you're live, how to handle different things like comments and what if you're. Your video freezes and some different things like that. We're going to go through all of those things. And then day five is when I'm going to challenge you. Are you up for the challenge? I'm going to challenge you to do a live video broadcast based upon what I taught you. I want you to do this. So start getting ready. Start preparing. Start just realizing this is something that you can do. Whatever has been holding you back, let's work this out. Let's overcome it. A lot of it's mindset stuff. People tell me I'm scared.
Or I'm just timid or I don't know what I'm gonna say or what if I mess up or, you know, the perfectionism will paralyze. My live streams are not perfect. They're just not, you know, I have a lot of little bloopers and, you know, things that happened. I don't know if any of you guys were on my live Facebook broadcast when everything came tumbling down on me. I had a shorter microphone cord at the time, and I went to write on my easel and the microphone pulled. Everything literally came tumbling down.
Like, I am still laughing at that because I was like, oh, my goodness, who does this? When does this happen? And I recovered and it was fine. Another time I was doing a live video, and this time I was doing it on Periscope and I was doing an unboxing of my printed proof of my book. And so I went to the door and I was like, it was real dramatic, you know, I'm like, here's the package from CreateSpace. And I went, opened the package and it was some crazy, like, I don't know, I think it was Japanese or something. It was the wrong book, and I did it live on video.
Oh. So, I mean, there's going to be times that things just happen, you know, but you just have to laugh at yourself. And do you want to reach more people with your message? Do you want to be able to offer your expertise? What you have to offer your. Maybe if you're a fiction author, entertainment, maybe it's motivation or inspiration or spiritual growth. Who out there needs what you have? And are you letting fear and perfectionism stop you from delivering that message to more people? I just really encourage you to ask God for wisdom. Ask him for courage, and be willing, be willing to do this be willing to take a risk. Those who have great results and are successful typically are willing to take risks. They're willing to put themselves out there. They're willing to do things that other people are not willing to do. There's a statistic that on Periscope, which it was one of the first live streaming apps, and I started on Periscope. But On Periscope, only 1% of all users ever broadcasted live. So if you start broadcasting live and you do it in the way that I teach you, where you're delivering amazing content, you're connecting with your audience, you're providing value to your target audience, guess what? You're going to be ahead of 99% of your competition. Most likely, you're going to be ahead of so many other people. You're going to have a way to get more visibility. Right now, Facebook is favoring live video 10 times more than any other content. It's a way that you can get more exposure. Guess what? For free.
So I encourage you, really dig deep. You can do this. We're gonna do it together. It's gonna be a group thing. You're gonna have the support of each other. You're not doing this alone. You can do this. I'm excited for you. I know there are people waiting to hear what you have to share and waiting to connect with you. And so I'm excited to walk you through this challenge. But live is just such a powerful opportunity right now, and I know it's not going to be for everyone. I totally get that. Some of you are just going to say, shelly, no way. No, no way. But what if you stepped out of your comfort zone? What if you did this? What if you took the risk? What? The purpose of this five day live video challenge is to take you through the steps, to prepare you to go live. And I'm going to challenge you to take and by the end of the five days to go live. So I want to see how many of you are willing to do this. Let's do it together. Let's support each other and let's just. Let's just dive in. I remember when I did my very first video on Periscope, I was like, I had no idea how it worked. I had no idea what I was doing. And I remember I was just sitting in my recliner in my living room. I'm like, okay, if I'm going to wait until I feel ready or until I feel like I know everything, I'm probably never going to do this. So I just did it. I didn't have any makeup on. I wasn't dressed up or anything because we were getting ready to go camping. And I just did it. I did a live video periscope like that, and I just dove in and I learned as I went. But guess what? You get a lot of the shortcuts. I'm going to give you a lot of the tips and strategies and things so that you don't have to just figure it out as you go. You know, you can have a lot of confidence going into your first live broadcast. I'm so excited to do this for you. Like I said, I just kind of. It's been on my mind that I want to do a live video challenge. I've been doing live video for a year now. I surveyed my list, I sent out an email, and over 50 of you responded almost instantly saying, yes, we want it. And so I'm excited to share this training with you and I'm excited to see what you do with this. I'm excited to see the aha moments. I'm excited to see the breakthroughs, the breakthroughs through fear, the breakthroughs through feeling just like, stuck or what do I say? Or what do I do? Because we're going to create some really positive momentum as a group. We're going to be doing this together. We're going to be going through this together. And I'm excited for you to join us.
