1,200gr Arrow & Mechanism Testing | 110# Two Piece Traditional Bow

A Pro Archer Shot‑Coach YouTube video demonstrating a quick-build test of a heavy (≈1,100–1,200 grain) arrow and a custom mechanism on a personal two‑piece traditional bow (~110–111 lb draw). The presenter describes construction steps, weight measurements of components, and prepares to test whether the improvised setup is viable and safe.

I present to you the most dangerous thing I've made today. We're using my personal bow here. This will tell me if this plan that I came up with in about 15 minutes and put together in about an hour and a half is viable or not. At first I was trying to make this thing kind of pretty, and I'm like, it's a shop tool. It doesn't have to be pretty. For some reason, we don't have impact drivers around here. I've got one, but I was told if I brought it, it was going to be a not fun time. Shane hates impact drivers because they're loud and noisy and they break screws. But it makes driving screws so much easier. Right here. We're going to get this wrapped up. All that has to do is keep that from jumping out. We're going to concept test. This is either going to work or it's not. Just a moment. I'm gonna have to refinish my bow after this. Don't worry about it, dude. Dude, that's not bad at all. Go for it. Let's put the big one on. Do you want to screw that down to something? Yeah, wouldn't hurt. So that we have leverage. Yeah, well, that. It might as kill it. Not. I'm not. I'm gonna stay way away from. No, that's. Oh, no. That's not scratching any worse than it was. It's a bow. It gets used. You know, you hike through stuff. You're going through brush. You climb up in your ladder stand. Only caught it to here. Feels like it's compressing my ribs back together. Not a chance. Try this one. No way. Look at this. This is going in here. Which will make about a thousand grain arrow. How many weights is. That's insane. Yeah. Where's the. Where's the weight? Forward on it. Oh, that's point on right there. Yeah, that's about right. That's like 15 yard point on, bro. That's a lot of weight. Yeah, that's 1050 grain with a 200 grain point. But we need more weight because it's 111 pounds. Look at that, though. How many weights is that? Is that nine? One, two, three, six, seven, eight. Yeah, that's nine. That's 450 plus 50 grain insert. That's 500. That's 700 grains right there. Now I'm gonna hot glue this in here and then it'll stay in long enough for us to test it. So this is where the rubber meets the road. Let's see if any scary noises happen, we might have to use two people to pull it back. I can get it. Yeah. What? Yeah, we can get it. It's just. You got to have somebody else reach in. Are you sure? Yeah, we'll just stand right here and shoot it like that. Okay, I'll shoot it if you want me to. I want you to put that thing on the scale and let's get a final measure on it. Yeah. See what we got. 1183. Yeah, that's about close. Close to 1200 drains, which is good. That's a telephone pole there, my friend. All right, let's go do.
