Lights, Camera, Iowa.

It's October 1st. First time hunting Iowa in my life. Waited five years for this day trying to let the Omnia eat. This is stressful. I covered in deer. So one of our shooters having like 51 yards save. Yep, here they come. It knees quivering a little bit here. Give me a second. Just let one go out of the omnia. It's October 2nd here in Iowa. I'm a little shaken up. Dylan and I have been pretty much hammering the same stand here in Iowa. We had an encounter with a buck yesterday morning. Truth be told, this is kind of a back pocket that is most consistent for shooters and just keep coming back and coming back. I told Dylan and I said if we don't go there, we will regret it. Third set's a charm, I guess. Came in at 8 yards. Omnia did well. Pretty confident. Double lung. Thought we heard him crash. Think I see belly buddy. Oh my gosh. I can't believe that it's over already. Dylan and I just got down to Iowa Friday night. Hunted yesterday the opener and here we are on October 2nd, 2nd day of season. Dylan and I have been absolutely relentless on this tree stand that we killed him out of. Man did come together tonight. He came off the ridge just like we thought he would. Came in with a two year old and then put on a show. Had to hold for quite a while before I was able to release the arrow at 8 yards. And then that back wall is solid. Buried one right through his lungs. He didn't go 100 yards. Maybe waited five years for this tag and feel like it's over too soon. But I'm not going to complain.
