It's October 23rd here in Wisconsin. Calendar turns another year, 15th year in a row. Dylan I have been hunting together since we were wee little lads. Got a new camp, we're set up in western Wisconsin on a buddy's house. Dylan bought a new camper so we set up shop here. New to us, new to us, not new. End of October weather's a little bit warm, a lot of rain coming this week. It is end of the October so anything can happen. We're gonna give it our best. I don't know, I'm still optimistic about things. We got plenty of ground, plenty of stands. Well plenty of stands to pick from but we're gonna hang and make tonight. That makes a lot of sense. I don't know, we're both excited to be here. It's the rut. If we don't kill anything tonight we're.
Gonna have some beers, so amen.
We got a lot of options. We got three farms, we're out here hunting. Lot of stands set up, easy in, easy out. But we' to go hanging bang tonight cuz that sounds more fun. We got a daylight walker, not every day but he's pretty consistent up on this, up on this field it's a ridge top, we got southerly winds, we're going to go try and make some happen tonight.
Got southerly winds, kind of forcing us into things that we don't typically do. Cell camps told us last night we had really good intel. We had one of our shooters walk by, probably a mid-140s four year old, came through, plenty of light, 5:30. I had him on the other end of this a field chasing Doles earlier in the week. So I think he's kind of occupying a lot of his time in the evenings here. So we'll see it. Sam oh he was quartering away though buddy, hold on. That was a bat. He was back, he's back, he's quartered. I'm not happy with that shot right now.
I know.
We'Ll get him buddy. We got in here all set up at like 3:30, it's quarter to five and I just point an arrow in him. I wish I would have done right now. As we got down from the tree there it looked good. Dylan kind of stayed back. I tiptoed over there, the shot was back. That we know, best case scenario we were hoping for liver and based on what we're seeing we think it's all Liverpool. Darrell's better than I thought. This alfalfa field, it's hard to see blood. I Did find a little blood where he ran into the woods. I didn't go any further. I think we're gonna probably go head back to the truck, reconvene, maybe throw it on a big screen and come up with a game plan. If we truly did get Liverworth, Company's gonna die. We just gotta give him the time.
We're waiting. Went in tonight after a deer that was pretty regular on this field, and he actually was nice enough to play along and showed up early. Gave us a 40 yard shot, quartering away, and by the looks of it, it's straight liver. So now we wait. It's 11:15 now. We gave him pretty close to damn near seven hours. We got a pretty good crew behind us. We got some buddies in the area. We all watch the footage. We feel pretty confident that we're gonna go in there and find them dead. That doesn't make me feel any better until I put my hands on him. But that's where we're at right now at this current moment. So this clump of grass is 40.
He definitely looped in this way. I got blood right here.
Oh, my God. Boys. Oh, my gosh. Are you kidding me? So what we did here was him crashing stiffer than Wally. What are you doing? Home sweet home. Oh, don't give me a tour of my room. I didn't even clean it. The trip is starting off great. Day one. We're already sick of each other. We have something to do.
