SET Technology Tuning Bows in Seconds!

Josh Sidebottom explains SET technology, which tunes compound bows by adjusting limb seating instead of requiring a bow press. At a hunting camp in Buffalo, Wyoming, a single screw fix corrected a shooter's large aiming error in seconds.

I remember, and I don't know if people know. Maybe they do, maybe they don't. But you were probably the mastermind behind set technology, because when you would try to tune Jen's bows, you would take the limb rocker out of Gen1 elites. Solid limbs, small little limb rocker, and you would file it down to change how that limb would sit in that pocket. Well, you took that idea to Josh Sidebottom, and a few short days later, voila. You know, set technology was invented to where we could rock the limb tips to tune bows. Well, I think the first model of bow we had was a cure.
Yep.
That was the first bow Dylan and I, my son, were going to. Where was it at? Buffalo, Wyoming. We flew into Gillette and went to Bighorn Outfitters in Buffalo, Wyoming, and we met Levi up there. We're going to have a whitetail hunt, pronghorn hunt. Dylan gets his bow out of the case, and we're shooting at like 40 yards. And he's like. He's like, dad, I'm hitting a foot to the left. What do I. I mean, he's freaking out. You know, what do I do? I'm like, this is easy, bud. Watch, you know, sitting a foot to the left. He's getting a knock right there through paper. I'm like, we loosen this screw, you turn that about a half a turn, he shoots the next arrow, and it's like, that far. He's like, you know, give it a little bit more. Boom. Right back in line. So it was really cool to see that technology come to life because of your experiences. And then for me to use it with Dylan right there in camp going, don't panic, son. This is a really easy solution. So to see his panic go to instant relief and gratification. Pretty cool to see the. You were a big part of that. And we got to use it in real life.
Yeah. You know, and I've heard stories like that where people have experienced set technology and they've, you know, just been over. Overjoyed how easy it actually is to adjust, get everything right. And I mean, yes, I. I will take credit for some of that, but, hey, Josh's design work behind that is what made it solid.
Yeah.
So, you know, I mean, I don't like to.
Yeah.
Okay, well. And, you know, idea. I threw it out there.
Josh, he did. What's cool about it is it hasn't changed from day one, really. We had set one set 1.0 set.
Right. But it. But it's. But the idea is the same. Yeah. The functionality is the same. It's doing the same thing. It's not like it's going to change in its functioning process. But no, you're 100 right to to be able to take a broadhead, a field point, put them right together in just a matter of a few seconds.
Really? Yeah. In camp no bow press, just a set of allens and wall. Problem solved.
Yeah.
