I am Sidhika Goenka, your emotional wellness expert, positive parenting coach, and a mompreneur success coach, and I am on a mission to impact 1 million women feel emotionally independent. You don't need validation from external situations. You don't need to be dependent on what others say. You know what happens when people say good things? We feel happy, our mood goes up. When somebody says something negative, something you don't like, your mood goes down. I want you to be free from that, and for that we have different questions that I'm going to answer today. Today I'm gonna invite somebody who will ask me a question that you will be able to apply in your life. Hello, ma'am.
Hi. So, uh, my question is how to feel motivated.
You know, like, these days I'm not able to go out.
I feel very lethargic and loathing and all. So I don't, I don't know, like, how can I go out?
How can I be motivated? That's a great question. You know, we have everything around us. We have all the resources, we have all the information, but even though we have everything around is that there is motivation that we lack. The problem actually is of plenty. When you have lots of options, it gets very difficult to choose. So today, the world that we are living in, there is a lot of information, everything is there. What is lacking is your inner motivation, your inner focus to feel in control. The first thing that I will recommend to feel motivated is focus. Undivided focus in your goal is what you need. How you can get undivided focus? Stopping everything that is distracting you, number one. So the first thing that I do to feel motivated and to get focused is I take out all the applications that are not serving me. You know, there was a time in my life where I felt I was serving others and the applications were not serving me. I was completely in control of all the external influences of mobile applications, of, um, the phone, WhatsApp. They were controlling me, and because they were controlling me, I was not feeling motivated to get out of my comfort zone. I was very comfortable just scrolling on Instagram, scrolling on social media, and not really getting out into the real world. Let me tell you, getting out in the real world, going out of your comfort zone, will help you feel motivated. So the number one way to feel motivated is find your focus. Right now, write down 3 things that you want to do in your life, any 3 things that you want to do in your life in the long term. From there, write down 3 things that you need to do this month to get there. Automatically, when you see the bigger picture, you will start feeling more motivated. Whenever I feel lost or I feel demotivated, I see the picture of what I want to do. Or how I want to be 5 or 10 years from now. So I'll tell you a little secret. What I have done is I have drawn where I want to go, you know. So 10 years from now, I want to be impacting 1 million lives. So I have drawn lots and lots of women in the audience watching me, hearing me, getting impacted from what I am saying, and I am there confidently on stage. And that picture, that is my vision board. And that vision board I have stuck right in my bathroom where I see it every single day. Now every day I see it, the first thing it does, it brings a smile on my face. The second thing it does, it pushes me to do better. It motivates me to find small steps to reach that goal. Now let me tell you, There may be days where you don't want to see your vision board. You know, some days are very good where you feel highly motivated, but there are some days where you don't feel motivated. You feel like everything that you're doing is just— there's no use, there's no benefit, because you're not seeing anything coming out of it. As a coach, there are days where I have no clients. No work, but still I have to continue on my backend work. Backend work, which is podcasts, videos, assets. So always remember, whatever vision you have, every day you will not be getting result for the vision, but consistent work will help you feel motivated to get to your goal. So number one, the first thing that you need to increase your motivation is to feel focused. The only way to feel focused is to remove all other distraction from around you. Once you remove all other distraction, the second step to feel focused is to draw your vision. Now vision doesn't always have to be work, it doesn't always have to be career. Vision can also be, I want a happy family. I want to feel peaceful. That's my vision. 5 years from now, I want to feel peaceful. Now, to feel peaceful, what do I need to do? I need to have control over my moods. And how do I control my moods? My thoughts. So the best way to control myself and to reach my vision is to feel motivated, to keep doing baby steps to get peace and happiness. Number 3: the days you feel lazy, the days you feel demotivated, see your vision board and tell yourself, today I am not getting results, but Half an hour, I will do one thing that will get me results. So now the days when I feel demotivated, I start making my podcast. Every day I spend half an hour on doing something that I know after 5 years will give me big results, because I will have a big resource bank. I will have a library of things. See, you have to have products, assets, and resources for the future. Nowadays with digital coaching, everything is available online. You need to have a ready library of things. Similarly for emotions, when you're feeling lazy, when you, you know, you want to be happy, you want to be peaceful, you need to work from today. So I will start talking to myself. Another great strategy that has worked for me is positive self-talk. When I feel demotivated, first I delete all the unnecessary things from my head. I delete all the unnecessary things from my phone. I delete unnecessary thoughts from my mind. Second, I see my vision. I see my goal. I see it and I imagine it and I experience it. Third, I do positive self-talk. I tell myself, today you're feeling lazy, today you're feeling demotivated, but that's not you, that's not who you are. Remember, laziness and demotivation is a part of you, it is a little characteristic of you, it is a mood that can be changed through positive self-talk, and through action. So as a parent also, when my children feel demotivated, when they feel lazy, I don't label them as, are they always demotivated, you know, are children, you never do your homework, you are always late. A lot of times we have a tendency of labeling children as lazy, as liars, as laid back. The minute we label ourselves or our children, we are in danger. This labeling is going to become a habit, and every day we will prove ourselves correct. Oh, I am always demotivated. I don't feel like doing anything. I don't enjoy anything. I just want to relax. This will become a habit. So every time you are demotivated, the first thing that you need to do is delete unnecessary thoughts. Unnecessary applications, unnecessary things. Talk to yourself, tell yourself, this is not me. Only today I'm feeling this. Drink a glass of water, get excited, move your shoulders, say no, this is not me. And half an hour, only half an hour, take up one activity that will help you for your vision. Career, personal growth, family, emotion, anything. And for half an hour, do that. So let's say, you know, people come to me and say, we are very demotivated. Every day we want to exercise, but we just don't feel like. Every day I feel I'll do it tomorrow. Every day I feel I'll do it tomorrow. You know, I keep delaying it and I'm demotivated. I tell you, the first thing that you need to do is that unnecessary thought, ki I am demotivated, Take the thought. Can you imagine that thought in your hand? Take it, crumple it, throw it out of the window. I am not demotivated, I am motivated. Then imagine yourself 5 years down the line. I want a Kareena Kapoor body. Okay, that is your vision. So make that your vision. I want a Kareena Kapoor body. Now to get the Kareena Kapoor body, what do I need to do? I need to take baby steps. So today for 20 minutes I will turn on a video and I will do basic cardio exercises. Start there for 1 week. Do that. The minute you do that, the minute you go outside your comfort zone, you'll feel that you're not demotivated anymore. Motivation will come. So number 1 step: stop telling yourself that you are demotivated. No, use positive self-talk to feel motivated to go towards your goal. I hope that really helped you.
Sure, ma'am, it really, really helped me, and thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
How will you be able to use this in your life?
First of all, as you said, I'll be writing all those 3 things that, uh, for, for my, like, um, the goal that I needed for now, for short-term goal and the long-term goal, and then I'll start working on that.
It.
Uh, maybe it may be family, my friends, a career, anything, but I'll do that, definitely.
Remember, remove unnecessary thoughts, show yourself the vision where you want to go, and take baby steps. And you never tell yourself, I am not motivated. The minute you have that feeling, I am feeling demotivated, or I am feeling lazy, Get up and say no. Yeah, 5 years down the line, I want a Kareena Kapoor body. I will feel motivated. I want to be motivated. And with motivation, for 20 minutes, do something that will help you reach where you want to go. Remember, when you know where you want to go, it becomes very easy to go there. If you go to an airport and you don't know which flight you want to take, whether you want to go to London, Paris, or Singapore, you will just sit in the airport. Flights will be coming, arrival, departure, all these thoughts will be inundating. You'll be confused because there is an overload of information. You don't know which flight to take. So first step of being motivated is know which flight you want to take. Where do you want to go? Thank you so much. I hope that helped. I'll see you.
Thank you.
Bye. I hope this helped all of you. Do remember, where you want to go is the secret to feel motivated. Once you know where you want to go, then you can take baby steps to go there. Use positive self-talk, remove unnecessary thoughts, applications, WhatsApp videos from your life and start labeling yourself as a motivated, highly energetic, action-oriented person, because that's what you are. What you think is what you are. I am motivated. Say it with me: I have full energy to fulfill what I want to do, and I am already on the path of my goals. Have a highly motivated day, and you're all extremely motivated to make your lives happier, more fulfilled, and more peaceful.
