In this episode of the A‑to‑Z series on building self‑esteem, the speaker focuses on the letter “E” for “Engage.” She defines engagement as being fully present and proactively participating in any interaction, whether with a friend, at a party, in a classroom, or at work. She explains how engagement is signaled through visual cues (eye contact, smiling, nodding, head movements), auditory cues (active listening, verbal affirmations), and other sensory behaviors (note‑taking, body language). The speaker illustrates these cues in various settings—family conversations, parent‑child interactions, business meetings, and social gatherings—showing how genuine engagement makes others feel heard, cared for, and loved, which in turn creates happier, stronger relationships. She links consistent engagement to personal benefits: increased confidence, happiness, and a boost in self‑esteem. The video concludes with a reminder to practice engagement throughout the day, using eye contact, body language, and attentive listening.

Hi, you're watching the A to Z series of increasing your self-esteem. Today we're going with the letter E. E for engage. Yes, engaging means being there, right there in each and every moment. We usually kind of just live without really being present in each moment. Let's be present. Engage yourself. The moment you start engaging yourself, you actually feel that you're more present, that you're more proactive, and that you're actually listening. So to engage means to proactively participate. Whether it's meeting a friend, engage yourself in that conversation. Whether it is at a party, engage yourself in the group that you're standing with. Whether it is in a classroom setting, engage yourself in learning something new. So how do you show that you're engaged? How does one know, are you engaged? Well, it's very simple. When you're engaged, it shows through visual cues, through auditory cues, and through all the other sensory cues. So when I'm engaged, Or when you're engaged, when you're listening to my video, how will I find out? Well, you'll be smiling while I'm speaking, you'll be nodding your head, "Yeah, that makes sense," or you'll be making a couple of notes. That shows engagement. And once you have your notes ready, you will actually implement that. So that actually shows engagement. When you're engaged, it shows. People like to be with you, people like to meet you, people like your company. Because when you're engaged, you're happy. It's actually showing that you're giving 100% time and attention to the person who is actually there with you. In a family setting, when a man is engaged, when he's listening to his wife, it shows. He can nod his head, he can actually give her 100% attention, and that engagement actually gives a very positive result. It makes the wife feel heard. It makes the wife feel cared for, it makes the wife feel loved. Also, in a family setting, when the parents are sitting together with their children and when the children are talking about a story or a fact and they're giving their 100% attention to their child by hand gestures, by eye contact, eye movements, head movements, all of this shows engagement. The result of this? Happier, healthier, stronger, and more close-knit family. When you show engagement, it shows. So always remember, at your workplace, in a business meeting, in a family setting, in a classroom setting, in a friend social setting, show engagement. Show that you're engaged. Show that you're 100% involved. Show it to the other person that you're hearing their each and every thought, emotion, and expression by all kinds of visual cues. So when you're engaged, you're happier, people around you are happier, your close one feel— your close ones feel heard, you feel good, and automatically your self-esteem increases. When you're engaged, you feel confident, you feel strong, you feel happy. Others around you feel like, yes, you're you're listening to them. So today remind yourself that you're going to be engaged. Engaged in the present moment, engaged with your friend, engaged with your spouse, engaged with your family member, engaged with your children, and overall you're going to be engaged with your eye contact, your head movements, your overall body language. Have a very, very engageful day today. Bye, see you tomorrow.
