The Letter R

R stands for reach out: both giving time and money to others, and asking for help when you're struggling. The presenter argues both matter equally for building self-esteem.

Hi, welcome back to the A to Z series of inculcating a high self-esteem. Yesterday we spoke about questioning, questioning yourself for any roadblocks that might be hindering your success, questioning offensive statements and making pros and cons whether they are true or not. Today we have the letter R and for R I have reach out. Yes, by reaching out I mean in a lot of different levels. Firstly, we're so fortunate and we don't realize that. A lot of times we don't reach out to different community— communities, charitable organizations, and other people. It's important to reach out and to contribute in some way or the other. It could be to contributing to your employees, contributing to your friends, contributing to social organizations, either in the form of charity, money, donations, time, attention and love. All of these are ways of reaching out. When you reach out to others, you feel like you have something, you feel fulfilled, you feel fortunate. In turn, you feel confident. So reach out to people with your time, with your attention, with money contributions and love. The other meaning of reaching out is reaching out for help. When you're feeling low, when you're feeling constantly you're feeling low, it's actually inhibiting or it's actually coming in the way of a regular healthy lifestyle. When that happens, reach out. Reach out for professional help. Reach out to friends, family, and professional workers. If you're feeling depressed, if you're feeling like you're in, you're in the cycle of depression or inferiority complex, if you're feeling low about anything, reach out. So today we have two meanings of reaching out. One is reaching out to help others in the way of time, money, love. And the second is reaching out for help for others, for help, reaching out for professional help. I hope it makes sense. I hope you reach out today to those who are not as lucky as you are. Have a great day. I'll see you tomorrow with the letter S. Bye.
