He advises narrowing target market, method, and location/language to create a "blue ocean," and to craft non-replicable delivery and community experiences. He emphasizes sharing an authentic personal story and mission (his own: college dropout to multimillion-dollar coaching business) as a core differentiator.

Have you been having this concern that there are many people in the same niche just as you? If that's a concern in your mind, this is the podcast for you where I'm going to be sharing with you on how to be different from other trainers in the same topic.
Hey there, Sidh here. Welcome to yet another episode of the Freedom Is this podcast. And in this episode I'm going to be talking about how to be different from other trainers and coaches in the same niche as you. Now, if you have not subscribed to this podcast on Apple or Spotify, please do that so that you can stay notified on my future episodes that are short, crisp and clear for you to get value where I'm answering important questions such as this. Now, let's look at this particular topic about one person copying the other. Many years back, my mentor Vic, when I was watching one of his courses, something hit me really hard when he said this. He said, you can copy my website, you can copy my funnels, you can copy my courses, you can copy my ads, you can copy any, every single thing in my business that you can see online, but you cannot copy me. You can't copy my intentions, and you cannot copy my heart. So that hit me really hard, which helped me realize that it is not so much about, you know, what you're teaching, okay? It's more about who you are as a person that will attract you. So the first foundational principle I want to share is that it does not matter even if there are 1 million people in the same topic as you, there is room for everybody to grow and everybody to attract the right customers because each one of us are different. Each one of us are unique. Each one of us are unique, you know, beings in the way that we present ourselves. So in other words, our vibe attracts our tribe. So now let's come to the more now, with that being the foundation, let's come to the more tangible things like how do you be different from other trainers who are there in your same niche? Now, the first thing is if you're just being like run of the mill, that means run of the mill, career coach, run of the mill, business coach, run of the mill, you know, spiritual coach, run of the mill, healer. There are so many different topics where, you know, people are just doing the same things, where you're being a generalist. In that case, it's going to be a little bit difficult for you to stand out. So according to me, anything that's run off the mill is something that puts you in the zone of a Generalist, like a general practitioner of medicine, he is known as somebody who's an expert and people come to him. But a neurosurgeon or a neurology specialist is so much more valuable than the generalist because of the specialization. So how do you stand out from other trainers and coaches in your same niche is by narrowing down your positioning and by narrowing down three, four elements. One is if you can narrow down your target market. Instead of just calling yourself as a health expert, calling yourself as a health expert for women only, it puts you in a, in a zone which makes you different from others. That's the first part. Next is if you can narrow down on your method which you use to solve the problem. So rather than just calling yourself as a health expert for women, you can say, I'm a yoga specialist and I'm focused on just women, okay? And if you can still go for the. I'm a yoga specialist and I help women get back into shape after pregnancy. So I work only with mothers. So that way it gets even more refined and you'll be able to stand out. And the third element for you to stand out from the others. One I spoke about the method, the other I spoke about the market. And the third way for you to stand out is to narrow down on your location and language. Okay? I'm grouping both of these to one location. So for example, if you are in Mumbai or in Bangalore or you're in a particular state, you target only people in that area. And in fact, if you're more comfortable with the vernacular language, if you speak Hindi or Tamil or Telugu or Marathi or you know, Malayalam or you know, whichever is the state that you are in, if you are more comfortable speaking that language, if you're known as, let's say, a post pregnancy weight loss specialist, yoga weight loss specialist for mothers, and you're only going to be training in say Tamil language and you're focused only on Tamil Nadu, there's a huge market, okay? So that way you will be completely in a blue ocean. A blue ocean is where there's no competitors. A red ocean is where there are a lot of sharks competing with each other and trying to just get, you know, it's like a bloodbath over there, okay? Where there's absolutely no room for creativity and where no one, nobody's unique. So there's a red ocean there. So blue ocean strategy is more of, you know, unique positioning, even though you may have expertise in multiple areas. But still, if you can narrow it down to one market, one method, and you still narrow it down to one language and location. That way you will stand out, you'll be different from other trainers. So now this is the second part. The first part was more like the foundation where I spoke about. Nobody can copy you. The second part, I gave you, like three different insights on three different ways for you to stand out. Now, the third part of this podcast I want to talk about how do you be different from others in the way that you deliver your knowledge? See, for example, I do a lot of mind maps. I play music after my sessions. The way that I do community building is very unique to what I'm doing. Okay? So it's something like, there are some elements of what I'm doing in my community building that is not replicatable, okay? So think about what are the things that you can do which others cannot easily replicate. For example, you know, I play. I play a live set after all my weekly, you know, circle calls or hackathons and stuff like that. Now, there are some people who are DJs, they can play. But then the kind of music that I play, the kind of, you know, experience that I give my audience, it's very unique to me. Even if there's somebody else teaching exactly what I'm teaching, if they go to that person, the experience, what they would get there and here will be very, very different. So as much as possible, the third secret is if you can differentiate yourself and identify the things that you can do to nurture your community and tribe, which is non duplicatable or non replicatable. And that has to come out from your core, from your own Persona. Okay? So these are the different ways. Even if you look at the way that you deliver knowledge, the way that you record videos, your home setup, the way that you have set up your home studio, like some of these elements can be replicated, but the idea is the way that you deliver the information is. Will be unique, okay? And the icing on the cake is this.
It is who you are as a person, okay? People will connect with you for what you stand for, not what you teach. And if you're able to think deeper about this and people also connect with you for your story, you know, the more vulnerable and open and transparent you are, to that extent, you will stand out from others because your story is unique from somebody else's story. Every person on this planet has a unique story. I've shared my story many times. But if you're listening to my podcast for the first time, the reason why I'm doing what I'm doing is because I'm a college dropout. I flunked my 12th grade when I was an 8 year old boy. I went to my grandpa and asked him, tata, why should I go to school? My grandpa looked into my eyes, he held my hand and he told me, sid, whether you're inside school or outside school, keep learning. He said, never let schooling interfere with your education. Keep learning. Be a lifelong learner. That message went so deep into my heart as an 8 year old that when I flunked my 12th, I continued my education and I went into to do my sound engineering and long story short, built an agency, worked in the corporate for eight years, built an agency for seven years and have been in the coaching industry for more than four to five years right now, built a multi million dollar coaching business. And my story is to prove to the world that you do not have to have a degree to be financially successful. Not just financially, you don't. You don't need to have a degree to be successful. You don't have to go to the formal education to be successful. Which proves that our formal education system is broken. And the only way we can fix it is by creating a new breed of teachers and leaders. And that's why I'm doing what I'm doing.
Now. What I shared with you in the last two minutes is my reason why I'm doing what I'm doing. This is what makes me different from all other people who are doing similar things as me. Because my story is unique.
And my mission, even though many people may have the same mission, the mission congruence in my backstory is so unique to me. So if you're able to find that in the way that you position yourself, you'll be far ahead from anybody else. You'll be able to stand out. You'll be different from other trainers in the same niche. And people go where the party is on. The more vibrant you can make your community and the more you can activate people to work with each other. That's where the party is and that's where they will come. Okay, I hope you found this useful. Catch you in the next episode.
