Are you in a position where you're actually doubting yourself and you are having these self doubts and fears about growing your business? I want to address this head on and tell you some ways on how you can overcome this.
Hey there, Sidh here. Welcome to this podcast, the Freedom Business Podcast. Great to have you here. And this is a topic which I want to address head on because I know a lot of people in the training coaching industry, including myself. When I started off, I had a lot of moments where I doubted myself and I doubted my abilities, I doubted my skills because no matter what I was doing, it was not working. And I just want to tell you that this is a part of the game. It's easier said than done. And I'm going to give you a solution on how you can short circuit your brain to use these situations as triggers to overcome and really make progress. Now I'll tell you the root cause of where self doubts and fears come in according to my perspective. Now let's say you are, you're excited about starting a project. Let's say you're excited about starting a knowledge business and you get into this journey and then you start the learning. So the fun part is the learning and the excitement of starting something new. And then what happens is as you get deeper into the journey of learning, when the implementation comes in, that's where the fears and doubts creep in. Now where does, why does that creep in is because number one is maybe you don't have the ability or you're still not equipped with specific knowledge or you know, it's a, you're entering an unchartered zone where you've never been there before. So when you get into that, you suddenly feel a little weird. Okay? Now as humans, as our mental model or human psychologies, we like to be in the comfort zone. Okay? For example, suppose you go to a brand new city, a brand new place, you've never been there, there's no one there to help you and you just go there. That that zone is a very anxious zone. When I say anxious is like you do not know what to expect. And that's how it is in business. So when you are in that zone of anxiousness or zone of the unknown, at that point the self doubts and fears start creeping in. So things like, I'm not good enough, I'm not sure if I can do this, this is very uncomfortable. Let me go back to the comfortable zone. So one of the reasons why, where self doubts and fears come in is being in that unknown zone of implementation or New knowledge and stuff like that. And the other area where self doubts and fears creep in are when you look at other people being successful in that. So especially in a knowledge business or a coaching business, let's say you're getting started and you are in a particular niche, okay? And you see somebody else in the same topic and they are doing phenomenally well and they are, you know, know, you know, they're literally like smashing it and taking it out of the park, right? And suddenly you, you compare yourself with the other person, you're like, do I even have a chance?
You. In fact, that's the mental dialogue that goes on, you know. And I can tell you this from my own experience because when I was starting the business, I was looking at all these affiliate marketers and these top Internet marketers and I used to think to myself like they are doing it. How can I do it? I mean, who am I? If they're already doing it, then who am I to do this? You know? So these kind of doubts and fears creep in and then what, what is the outcome of that is implosion. Okay? So explosion is external, but implosion is internal. So for many years I had imploded and I never took action or moved forward because of these things of being in the unknown zone and making myself small, comparing myself with somebody else and making myself smaller and substantiating and rationalizing it, saying that maybe I can't do this, maybe it's for somebody else. And then the self doubt turns into fears. Fear of like not having enough, fear of the unknown, fear of.
You know, what if I don't make it? What if I fail? What if I start and if I fail, what's going to happen? See, because these self doubts have, you know, once they creep into your head, the only next step is that you either have to take action or you don't take action. Right? If you take action in spite of the self doubts, you will turn those fears into, into potential energy. Okay? Or potential what, what should I say? It's, it's going to build momentum. But most people, 90%, 95%, probably 96%, okay, only 4% of the people are really in the top of the game of their whatever topic or nature, any industry, okay? The top 4% of the top 4%. Sorry, the top 20%. The top 20%, that's the top 4%. Now back to the same point. Those who do not push through the self doubts.
They go into a downward spiral of fears, okay? And the fears are more to do with what if I fail, what if I succeed? And so on. So now let's come to the solution part. Now that you have decoded the root level of the problem and where it is coming from, let's think about how do you overcome this. My mentor, Blair Singer says that your environment is stronger than your will.
And there is a shortcut over there. If you really want to overcome your fears, then put yourself in an environment that allows you to bloom and grow.
That's why I like building communities. Because a lot of people in our community who have come in with these fears and as they are associating with other members in our community and they are growing, they start to short circuit those fears in their mind into potential action and they get into momentum. Especially people are going through my hackathon and by the end of it they are able to conquer those fears and turn the self doubt into self confidence. And self confidence becomes, it's more like a, it's the fuel to take more action. And more action increases the confidence and increased confidence increases results. So once they start selling and once they start putting out videos and content with that level of confidence, automatically the market is able to perceive something unique in that person and the market responds and transactions happen. And when transactions happen, once money starts hitting the bank, a new sense of confidence creeps in and that inspires more action. So this is more like an upward spiral, if you can envision what I'm actually talking about over here. Okay, so there is a downward spiral and there's not upward spiral, downward spiral. It happens when you are not. When you're very uncomfortable in the, in the unknown zone and when you are beating yourself down. But once you're in the right environment or in the right community, surrounding yourself with people who are inspiring you to move forward, that changes the game. And that's why I love this whole concept of building communities. I'm not so much of a. I don't tell people, okay, just sell, do consulting or you know, just sell products or just do courses or just do coaching. It's a combination of all of these, but packaged as community based models. So the number one way to overcome self doubts and fears is to be a part of a community. Still better is to be a part of a mastermind. A mastermind is a little bit more intense than just being a part of a community because there's more accountability and there's like a deeper set of connections and you can form a mastermind with anyone you know. For example, if you are able to identify three to four or five people who align with your values and your vision start to meet once in a week and just exchange ideas and really, you know, make it as a regular practice of.
Of exercising that, you know, that brain power in you for productive and creative decision making and strategic thinking. And of course, that will be backed up by action. When these five people are inspiring you to take action and you're holding them accountable, they are holding you accountable. So the entire game changes. And that's the power of the mastermin. The mastermind principle has been originally spoken about by Napoleon Hill many, many years back. Okay, so I hope you found this podcast useful.
