How To Make Passive Income With Affiliate Marketing

Amazon is what it is today because of its affiliates. And affiliate marketing is one of the multi billion dollar industries in the world today, which gives you an opportunity to create a passive income by selling other people's products. You don't have to manage the shipping, the handling, the delivery, the execution, and all you have to do, just be the middleman and do an effective job in offering this the right way to the right audience. So in this particular podcast, I'm going to be walking you through how to make passive income through affiliate marketing by understanding the different kinds of products, the different kinds of marketplaces, the passive income strategy, and ultimately the skills that you got to build. The starting point of my journey of digital coaching was affiliate marketing. I did not have a product of my own. I was just selling other people's products. And I was able to create that passive income because before that I was running a digital marketing agency and I was selling my time in the form of services. And I knew that there are so many overheads in that kind of a business and I wanted to basically launch a business where there are less complications, less overheads, where I'm not really delivering anything, but I'm just effectively selling products and just making commissions out of that. So that's how I got started in 2018, where I was selling $100, $200, $500, $1,000, $2,000 affiliate marketing products. And that helped me, you know, actually build my own community. And that evolved into what I'm doing right now. So in this particular podcast, I want to first walk you through what are the different kinds of affiliate products that you can actually sell, what are the different marketplaces, and and what is the precise five step strategy to make passive income with affiliate marketing? And it's not going to happen overnight. It's going to take some time to build up. And towards the end, I'm going to talk about what are the core six core skills that you need to have if you have to become successful as an affiliate marketer. So first let's talk about the different kinds of affiliate products. I want to break it down into two kinds of affiliate products. You have physical products and digital products. When it comes to physical products, you can become an affiliate with Amazon and you know, sell gadgets, books, apparel, any kind of specialized based physical products. There are many options. In my case, I took up the whole option of selling digital products. I was selling courses, books, membership sites, and even now I make a lot of money by selling other tools. I'm talking like domains hosting, email marketing, CRM systems, social media tools, tracking systems, webinar systems, and there are a whole bunch of systems and all the systems that I use, I am by default an affiliate of all those systems. And as people are coming into my community and I'm teaching them different things, I recommend these tools with my affiliate link and that helps me create multiple streams of income. So my passive income has happened by getting people into my core income stream first. So I'll come now to the strategy. So overall you have physical initial products. And when it comes to marketplaces, it's as simple as you becoming an affiliate with Amazon. Amazon is what it is today because of its affiliates. So you can just search for Amazon Associate program and register for free. There's a platform called ClickBank. There's a platform called JVZoo where you can find digital products. There's a platform called shareasale. Okay, S H A R E shareasale. There's a platform called Commission Junction and another platform called impact.com, impact radius. They have a whole bunch of products that you can actually, you know, pick and choose tools, software and a whole bunch of other stuff. So these are the different marketplaces where you can actually go register for free, find the products and then, you know, start promoting those affiliate links in different places. So what I want to do now is I want to get into the strategy. What is the passive income strategy? Because most affiliates, they are literally broke. They don't make much money because they just spam links all over the place expecting people to buy. But it does not happen that way. So what worked for me so far, I've done multiple crores, you know, in of income selling other people's products. What's worked for me is this five step strategy. Step one is I chose affiliate products that I use. Okay, I did not pick a product Just because it is the hottest thing in the market or because it's a trend or whatever, that's a different game. And there are many bloggers who do affiliate marketing by doing keyword research and you know, they, they make good money also. But the approach that I decided to take is I will only promote whatever I use and what I have benefited from. Okay? Second step is create courses and content that add a lot of value related to the products. So if I'm teaching a particular, my particular topic or if I have to promote those affiliate products, I need to look at what all can I teach around that particular area of topic and not directly related to the product. The product is just one of the tools. But I want to teach more than just a tool. It has to be the concept. Okay, so the second step is create courses and content that add value around the chosen affiliate products. Third step is sell those affiliate products through your courses and content. So if you're going to be doing a free course, let's say you create a mini course, maybe a 10 part video mini course on how to build funnels and you tell them about different types of funnels and how you can implement that and inside that you can sell funnel builders. You know, there's click funnels, there's leadpages, there are many other tools. So rather than you directly saying here, go and buy click funnels, you create an educational layer where you are giving people value and through that value you're recommending the right products. That's a smarter thing to do. And that's what I did in the initial part. I created my Freedom business model and Freedom startup challenge only for the sake of selling other athlete products. Because my whole game was affiliate marketing when I started off. But then now it has evolved into something totally different. And I still make affiliate marketing income, but my primary income has surpassed affiliate income by a long way. The fourth step is create your own hub and your own ecosystem with multiple streams of income. Okay? Not just have one or two products to sell, have multiple products to sell and based on whatever you're using. So that's what exactly I did. I created the Internet lifestyle hub as my hub and my ecosystem. And within this I have many courses where I'm recommending many products, you know, many tools through my products. And that also builds up my, my affiliate income streams. And step number five is drive traffic into your content, drive traffic into your webinars, drive traffic into your courses and just keep filling up your ecosystem. This is my passive income strategy in affiliate marketing. I make a Lot of passive income from affiliate marketing, which is a small portion of my overall income. But I'm using this precise five step strategy. One is I chose the products that I use. I created content and courses that teach the concepts that add value. I sell my affiliate product. I recommend those affiliate tools and products through my courses and content. Number three is I built my own hub. Number four is I built my own hub. And number five is I'm only focusing on traffic and conversion. So I'm getting people into my community by buying my own courses. So people buy my courses and as they buy my courses and then they're going through it, they end up, you know, getting all the tools and stuff, whatever is useful for them. So this is my strategy. So just to sum up and to be successful and to make a passive income through affiliate marketing, you need to build skills. It's not going to happen overnight. So I want to share with you the top six skills that you need. The first skill that you got to develop is content marketing, like in the form of me, like doing podcasts like this videos and also building any kind of content, textual content, video content and audio content. The second skill you need to build is list building and lead generation. You need to know how to generate lead magnets and how to attract people and manage your email list.

Then you have another skill that you got to build is building digital systems. I'm talking about funnel systems, tracking systems, and this is what I teach in my gold membership. Also there's a freedom setup challenge that I teach all the different systems. The fourth skill you need to have is paid traffic generation. I'm talking about Facebook ads, Google Ads, understanding how that really works. Number five is you need to have the skill of conversions and getting people to buy your products. Selling skills. Now you can sell through videos, you can sell, you should have the ability to sell through podcasts, sell through webinars, sell through video funnels, sell through one to ones. So selling is a skill. And I have my webinar selling formula also in my gold membership. And finally, the sixth skill is the community building skill. So it's not just about pushing products and getting people to buy your products, but to be able to support them after they have bought your product to build that relationship on a deeper level with your paid customers. And that's a different skill altogether. So content marketing, list building systems, traffic generation, conversion, community building, these are like the very essential elements if you want to make passive income with affiliate marketing. And usually people don't go through this. They want everything to come Fast. They want quick money. They want to get rich quick just by spamming links and expecting people to buy. If you want people to really buy, pick affiliate. Build your authority in the marketplace through your own content. That's why I tell all my students, even if you're doing affiliate marketing, build your own hub and ecosystem like what my mentor Vic told me, and then pick affiliate products that have recurring income streams. So that helps, you know, you also compound your effort. So rather than just getting a commission for one sale, let get people into a tool where they have to, you know, they, they need that tool and they need to use that tool on a monthly basis. So for me, I recommend ConvertKit to all my students because that's one of my, that's the email marketing tool that I'm using and I love it. So I have like hundreds of people on ConvertKit and that, that has created like a recurring revenue commissions coming to me every single month as people are renewing their subscription and like this hosting and domain and email marketing system and webinar system. So that's how I've been able to create multiple streams of income and passive income with affiliate marketing. So I hope this podcast has given you the foundation.
