So you start a webinar, you give a lot of valuable information and then you come to the sales pitch and your energy shifts, something happens and you lose your confidence. If that's you, this is the podcast for you. Let's get in.
Hey there, Sidj here. Welcome to yet another episode of the Freedom Business podcast. And if you've not subscribed to me on Apple or Spotify, please make sure that you subscribe so that you get more episodes like this. Now, this is the topic on webinar selling confidence. I know many people, they love selling products through webinars. And even in my community I have thousands of members who are selling their knowledge, memberships, products, programs and community access products through webinars. And one common problem that I've seen many of them have, especially those who are in the starting phase, is losing confidence during the sales pitch. In this podcast, I'm going to share a clear cut way on, first of all, understanding why you have those issues. And the second part, I'm going to give you a few tangible, practical tips and solutions so that you can improve your conversions by improving your confidence in your forthcoming webinars. So let me tell you, I've done more than 600 plus webinars sales, webinars, I'm not talking about my community nurturing calls, actually selling products 600 more than 600 times live. And there have been some webinars where I've got zero sales, some webinars where I've had zero confidence, some webinars, but I've got, you know, more than 100, 200 sales. And I've seen both the ends of the spectrum and everything in between. And I can totally tell you that this is a journey. It's a journey of personal evolution and transformation. And you're not going to be getting it right the first time you do it. Just like how a sports person the first time they get to play a sport. There's a lot of practice that needs to happen before they become a master of their craft. So there is going to be a journey of personal evolution. But the best part is based on what you're going to be learning in this podcast, you can accelerate that journey by implementing some of these ideas.
So if you look at overall, when does confidence drop? When I actually decoded that a confidence usually drops when there are some internal issues. Okay, when I say internal is, let's say you love teaching people, you love giving information, but when you start selling in your webinar, your confidence drops. It has a lot to do with your Concept about asking people for money. Now, this is the problem that I had initially where I was not very comfortable asking people for money. I really wanted to give to others, but I had a problem in receiving.
So how do you really overcome that is to first understand the root cause of where that belief is coming from. For example, maybe in your childhood days, maybe your parents or your relative or your friend or somebody must have told you that rich people are bad or sales people don't be salesy, or, you know, selling sales people are bad, or salespeople are sleazy, or these kind of negative beliefs about sales and salespeople. If you've had any of that programming in your past, go and heal that. When I say healing, what I mean by that is go to that particular moment in your past, identify, you know, why that was said and who said it, and just release that. You know, when I say release it, I mean change the perspective. When you go back and if you're able to change the perspective, let's say one of your relatives told you that sales people are sleazy, you go back to that, that moment, think about the person who told you this and think about where they are getting that belief from, and then just give the belief back to them. You don't have to stick to the belief that somebody has installed in you. This is what I did in my initial days of the personal growth and personal development. You know, I identified where in my life I have been told that selling is bad or asking is for money is bad or rich people are bad. And I went and changed the perspective and I passed on the belief back to the person who had given it to me. And I decided to create a new belief system which is selling as a form of service. That's the first belief system that I have. The second belief system is.
When there's a value exchange, people will value my information more. And the third belief is when people pay money, they pay attention. When they pay attention, they take action. They take action, they get results. So it's my moral responsibility to charge people money for my premium products.
So once these things shifted internally, once I healed the past and once I started to install these new beliefs, I started to gain more confidence during my sales pitch.
Now, the other reason why a lot of people, they go down in confidence during the sales pitch is because they don't have confidence in themselves. They don't have confidence in their own product. Maybe they created something or they're selling something which they know is not up to the mark. Now, if that's the case, you got to go and work on that. Let's take the first thing for example. Let's say you say that you're not good enough or you have this imposter syndrome thinking like why should people buy from me when there are hundreds of others doing better than me? So what you got to do is you got to short circuit these negative beliefs about yourself through affirmations. Affirmations like I am good enough, I am awesome, I'm great at what I do, I am a value giver, I can create an impact in the world. I am creating an impact in the world such be in present tense. So the more you're able to read out a bunch of affirmations on a day to day basis, you're going to start reprogramming and healing that part of you that feels that, that you're not good enough where your self worth is low. Okay, now the second part is let's say your product is not good or you feel that it's not the best yet. So you can go back, work on that. And like this is what I've heard in from my mentors, you know, version one is better than version none. You may have a worst first version of your product and you can always keep improving that version to the second, the third, the fourth and the fifth version. So it's okay to start selling. And as soon as you have sold your product, you can also get feedback from your customers asking them what more would they like or how you can improve the product. And you can start working on that parallelly. Okay. And the third area or the another way on how you can improve your confidence in your webinar selling is by getting results for others. Now when you get results for your students, it builds confidence. When I was starting off initially I was borrowing credibility from my mentors. I used to attribute or I used to share examples of how they got successful and then I would sell. I did not have any success stories of my own or my own students. And then the more and more success stories started to build in my own student community, I then started to gain more confidence. And with that confidence build up, I was able to increase the value and the price of my products also. So you can start with a lower price point, anything less than 10,000 rupees, around $100 price point. If you are just starting off, but slowly but steadily as and when you gain more confidence, you can start to increase the pricing. So confidence in webinars has a lot to do with your internal beliefs about say about sales, about money, about receiving, about getting rich. It has a lot to do with your own self concept of what you think about yourself. It has a lot to do with what you think about your product and what exactly you're selling. When you are able to work on these three areas.
You will start to sell more with confidence. And I'll give you a golden tip next time you go and do a sales in a webinar, don't worry about the outcome, don't think about the numbers.
Fall in love with the process of selling by getting detached to the outcome. It's easier said than done. And I've done webinars where I've been too focused on the outcome and I look at say 100 people in the webinar and I'm looking forward to 20% sales. And then there's been other webinars where I've completely, you know, I don't even look at the number of people. I'm just enjoying, I'm having fun, I'm connecting with people, I'm calling out people's names and I'm genuinely feeling like a heart to heart connect with every person in that webinar and I've seen my sales go through the roof. 20%, 30% conversions.
So it all has to do with your own inner, inner game, inner belief systems.
