A short podcast by Siddharth Rajsekar diagnosing overthinking as a protective delay that weakens self-trust and creates a self-reinforcing loop. He reframes decision-making: instead of seeking a "perfect" choice, choose what aligns with who you want to become, commit, and honor that choice; a concrete exercise is to make one small decision and not revisit it to rebuild self-trust.

Let me say this clearly. Overthinking is not a sign of intelligence. It's a sign that you don't fully trust yourself yet. Most people think they're overthinking because they need more information. But that's rarely true because you already know enough. What you're actually doing is delaying commitment. Because commitment makes things real. And real decisions carry responsibility. Overthinking is often protection.
Protection from making the wrong choice, disappointing.
Someone, or maybe outgrowing an old identity. So your mind keeps spinning, right? Not able to find the answer, but you're avoiding the discomfort of choosing.
But the irony is this.
The longer you overthink, the weaker your self trust becomes. The weaker your self trust, the more you overthink. I want to share worship with this.
For me.
I stopped asking asking what is the perfect decision? And I started asking which decision aligns with who I am becoming. You know what, that question changes everything. Because you stop outsourcing certainty to the future and you start grounding in your own values. Once I did, that decision became simpler, not easier, but just clearer, cleaner. So self trust isn't about being right every time. Self trust is built by honoring your decisions once you make them. And confidence grows you when you decide, when you commit, when you adjust without self betrayal. You know what? You don't need to be sure. You just need to be aligned. Alignment creates momentum, Momentum creates confidence. Overthinking fades when trust returns. So here's what I want you to try after this episode. Make one small decision today and don't revisit it. Not because it's perfect, but because you chose it. Every time you honor your choice, you actually are teaching your nervous system that you are safe with yourself.
And when that happens.
The noise quietens, the mind settles. And clarity feels natural again. It's a beautiful feeling. I truly want you to experience that. Because you don't need more thinking. You need more trust.
