Simon Alagbe shows how to install a custom indicator in MT4 by downloading the .ex4 and .tpl files, placing them in the MQL4/Indicators and MQL4/Templates folders, then refreshing the Navigator to apply it to your charts.

Hello and welcome to this channel. In this video, I will be showing us how to add custom indicator to our MT4. The first step is to download the indicator you want to add to your MT4, and I have the support and resistance indicator which I have already downloaded. So I would copy the indicator at this point in time. If I check the file name for this particular indicator, I would notice that the file name ended with .ex4. This shows to me that this particular file is to be added to my indicator folder on the MT4. And the other one ended with .tpl, that's .template. This other one, I have to add it to my template on the MT4. So I copy first the indicator file, I go to copy, then I move straight to my MT4. On the MT4, I locate the file. This is file here, I click on file, I go to open data folder, I tap on open data folder. Once the data folder is opened, I I locate MQL4. This is MQL4, so I open the folder of MQL4. Then I go with indicators. If it is expert advisors I want to add, I go to experts, but because I only wanted to add indicators this time around, I'll go for indicators. So I open the indicator folder. So this is my indicator folder. Then I paste the copied file inside here, I can just use Ctrl+V, and the indicator I've just copied has been added to my indicator folder. Once this is done, I close this. Then I go with the second file, which I still have there, that ended with .tpl. So this one is going to be added to my template. So I do the same thing, I copy Then I return to my MT4, the same process, File, Open Data Folder, and this time around I'm going to see Templates. I open the template, then I also do Ctrl+V, or I paste it, whichever method works for us. So after pasting the copied file, I close this. And I look towards my navigator and locate indicators in my navigator. So I select indicators there, then I refresh this indicator I have copied now. So if I go to indicator list, I move straight to custom, and from custom I will be able to pick on the indicator. This is it, SA Support and Resistance. And I was able to use that indicator to create a template, so I can just go directly to my templates To pick the templates which include that indicator. This is it, support and resistance templates. So immediately I click here, it comes on my screen. So that's how we add custom indicators to our MT4, and that's how we can recall them after adding to the platform.
