So why is it that some people walk into a room and the energy level dies and the lights, if there were any lights on, almost turn themselves off, and other people walk into a room and the lights brighten and the energy level goes up? Well, there's a common trait that those people that turn the energy and lights up have. It's called charisma. If you want more charisma. On today's Daily Biz growl, I'm going to discuss four ways that every single person can build their charisma muscles. So do you have the it factor? You know the it factor when people say that person's got it? Well, if not, I want to talk about four ways you can build your charisma. My name is Brent Kelly of Bizgris, and thanks for listening. Today's daily Biz growl. See, leadership is the ability to influence. And one of the qualities of influential leaders is charisma. Now, charisma may seem like a God given natural ability, right, that some people just have charisma and some people don't. But the reality is that any person can display the traits and build charisma to positively attract others. I've met many charismatic people in my own life. Those people that they draw you in, they make you feel comfortable and they capture your full attention. My mom was the one that used to always say, you know, that person just has it, that it factor. So what makes someone first of all have charisma? What gives them that it factor? Now, I think there's many traits that are part of a charismatic person, but four seem to stand out. They're called the four Cs. I like to make things easy. So what are the four Cs of someone with charisma? What do they have? Well, first of all, they have confidence, poise, and in their optimism. Number two, they have conviction. They know where they're going and they know where they're going. And what they say is important. All right? What they, what they speak on and what they believe comes from their heart, not just their head. That's conviction. Number three is connection. They focus not on themselves, but solely on their audience, whether it's a group or individual they're speaking with. And finally, the final C is compassion. Charismatic people exude warmth and love. They give practical answers to someone's needs. So what if you don't feel like you now have these traits, right? Like, well, I'm not very confident. I don't know if I'm very convicted. My message, I'm not focused on other people and I'M not as compassionate. Well, hold on. You're not doomed, not entirely. I believe that anyone can. Can slowly start to build their charisma. Right? It's not going to happen overnight, but you can build your charisma to help positively influence others. So here are the four ways that you can build your charisma. Number one, love life. Love life. Celebrate. Don't complain. Enjoy the journey that you're on now. Of course, this is an attitude thing. And if you struggle at this. I always tell groups that I speak with, try to be grateful for something and angry at the same time. Really difficult to do. See, charismatic people, they don't just live their lives, they embrace it. Understand that life is not always easy, but every day is truly precious. My small hometown, we just lost a young man in our community, way too early, 19 years old. And you probably have a similar story, right? Of losing a loved one or hearing of someone who lost their life too young. See, this happens every day in cities across the world. So it's important that we do truly celebrate each day and be grateful. Number two, put a 10, I say this in air quotes, on everyone's forehead. We all have preconceived notions of people. We all have biases, whether we admit them or not. We look at some people and say, that's a 10. And some people and say, that's a 4. Do your best to give everyone a 10, especially if you don't know them. Give them the benefit of the doubt. Expect the best from people and treat them well. John Maxwell says this. He says, to add value to people, you must first value people. So how do you perceive others around you? Do you value some more than others? Because I know I've done this. And it often shows in our words and our actions and our attitude toward others. So value everyone and expect the best from them. When you do this, guess what? They'll also see the best in you. Number three, give people hope. You want to be charismatic? Look for ways to give people hope. Everyone looks for hope. Leaders deal it out. I love this saying. It's been said that we can survive 40 days without food, four days without water, eight minutes without oxygen, but only one second without hope. Are you a dealer in hope? Do you give people a reason to believe? And finally, number four, how do you be more charismatic? How do you build your charisma? Share yourself. What do I mean by share yourself? It means being vulnerable and real. This is really hard for a lot of people, me included. Share your heart, your wisdom, and your resources. See charismatic people are willing to share of themselves to connect with others. Others must also connect with you. And to connect with you you have to be a real person. So look for ways to share your experiences, both good and bad, as a way to build likability and trust. So in conclusion with this to be a leader you must have influence. Charisma is a powerful trait that will increase your influence and help you add value to others. Look at these four ways the four ways I just explained love life, put a 10 on everyone's forehead, give people hope and be willing to share of yourself. Look at these four ways to build your charisma and find ways to add value to others each and every single day. Charisma isn't just about being loud and brash and boisterous. Charisma is about being authentic, genuine, real and focused on adding value to others. Thanks so much for listening to today's podcast again.
