2025-06-24 recall - session #7

Ben Fisher discusses API call batching, syncing with the CRM system Adeo, and task management in Taskmaster. The session covers technical challenges in software development and how to improve interaction workflows.

Sorry, I started, took a quick break and forgot to restart the screen recorder. But don't worry, you only missed about 10 minutes. What I'm doing differently is I'm actually batching the API calls now. So since we're. We've simplified this to only look at. We're only. We're not synchronizing every message interaction to the CRM.
We're just.
We're only synchronizing an interaction when it's at least say 30 minutes after the most re the latest interaction that's already logged for that user on Adeo. So just to quickly summarize, Addio has two properties per contact. First interaction date, last interaction date. And so now what we're doing is we're only syncing an event or an interaction, an email or, I'm sorry, an SMS or phone call interaction with Addio if It's at least 30 minutes later than the current last interaction date. Because ultimately what we're looking at, the goal of this is to identify who have we not been in communication with. We're not analyzing what was said over text messaging or phone call. We are simply looking at who have we not been communicating with tech as long as that. And for only situations where we have a message for each contact that is at least 30 minutes after the most recently logged one according to the API. That was a mouthful.
Yeah.
And please summarize the efficiencies of this in a. Actually, why should where I'd like for you to create a new log document that summarizes the key the big meaningful changes that we made. This would be a good example of. And what we'd want to say is what's the change we made and then what's the outcome of it? Like how much? What's the efficiency of it realistically? We'll see if it knows to do markdown. I actually don't like that.
I just probably interrupted it from doing the rest.
But okay, continue moving on to the research in the chronological batch optimization. I will say this probably should have taken, say the la probably could have shaved. Probably could have shaved a good five.
Hours off of this project if it.
Hadn'T been for sort of some of the confusion and oversight around how interactions are logged or not through adio's API. And that was ultimately an element of laziness or lack of deep diving into the details. What's the. I don't know if that term would be lack of diving into the details.
Yeah, that was on me.
Are you making these changes within taskmasters to do's Because I don't see any changes and get man. This is not I think it's using.
Claude codes tools now. This is a pain in the ass. Yes.
The idea was to use Taskmaster. We should always use Taskmaster. Oh my God.
I didn't realize I should update apparently the cloud file to do that.
And I guess that behooves the question of is it worth it or not can use all the other tasks H.
This is ridiculous.
Now the question is did you add the deferred tasks around the container and exploring summarizing notes over time did you add those to Taskmaster or did you do them within your local to do because everything that you currently have as a local to do should also be copied over to Taskmaster because they we need to keep them in Taskmaster because we need them persistent for future development.
And across devices for Jesus Christ. How is that wow.
It See how.
There get all messages It's a bit silly but okay.
It.
Oh yeah we.
Just made an improvement to the system and that should be now that's the way it runs it.
The savant Internet.
It sa brush my teeth all those runs I will pause this for you.
Find the whole thing bizarre. All right. It's a lot of stuff oh just refactored that was removed because unnecessary just.
Recreated a problem again. You just reintroduced a bug. Please create a test that verifies the from is never null and before you fix the issue add this as a test and when it happens is when there's no when a user does not have an email address in my contacts.
Only as a phone number. Pretty close. I swear we already created tests for this and I'm pretty sure I need taught to never remove tests no at this point Email forwarder.
What's the difference between the email forwarder and email forwarder from field test do we need two separate files? Really.
Not sure that constitutes a or the change log refined.
And I just want to confirm that if the person does not have an email address we will not forward a message to Adio.
I mean this is what you literally just did.
It that wouldn't work because Adio in order for us to forward a message to Adio has to be an email address. They have to have an email address. Otherwise you can't just forward a message in the contact info for them be their phone number because we're imitate we're spoofing an email received by the by the person it.
Yes, exactly. Wondered why you were changing ridiculous.
See software super easy even with AI I am convinced part of this is.
Just honestly the way I approach this particular project. Again, that's life. That's a part of building.
Submit changes it pretty cool it.
All right, so what's the should be? All right, well, I'm gonna go to sleep.
Getting up a few hours to continue.
