I do really believe 100% from every part of me that everyone has the capacity to be able to do the things that they want and not to be held back by the mental baggage that's in our head that we want to push through.
Welcome to the do the Thing podcast. In each episode, we get down and personal with people who go after the things they want to make all their wildest dreams come true. Join us as we unveil and dissect a formula for what it takes to do the thing. Here is your host, Stacy Lauren.
Hey, everyone. Welcome to the do the Thing podcast. This is your host, Stacy Lauren. All right, guys. Well, this is exciting. I am at the end of week two in the Startup Podcast Challenge. We have 1300 people that are participating in this challenge, and I decided to ask for feedback this time before the challenge is even over. So we are just at the end of week two, I decided to share some of the voice note messages that I've gotten so far about the challenge and how it's been going. And I think the coolest thing to me is that the majority of these people didn't have a podcast before this started. And in two weeks, they're leaving their voice note with their podcast name and some of them on what it's about and about what they've gotten so far. So it's super exciting to just get to see how fast these dares work and the progress that people make. The other thing I'm excited about is as the weeks progress, the people in the group are going to see how their podcasts are going to be able to play together. And so without even having their podcast published on Apple and Spotify yet, by being in a community of people that want the same thing as you, they're gonna have people already responding to their podcast and sharing how they feel about it and asking questions. So, oh, my gosh, this is so exciting to me, and I just cannot wait to see how things progress in this group. Week two in the Startup Podcast Challenge. We have three weeks left, and here you go. You guys. Check out some of the feedback that we've gotten so far. Hey, this is Ashley from Living Out Loud, and I am a part of the do the Thing challenge with Stacy, and I am having such a really fun time and enjoying every little dare that is going on, and I am excited to start my podcast. Living Out Loud is about spirituality, mental health, and also living your life out loud. Let's go. Have a great day. Thanks, Stacy. This has meant absolutely everything to me. It's like Birthing a baby. I have been overdue, and the baby has been way overdue. And now you have helped me to birth this baby, and now I'm holding it in my arms and it's absolutely beautiful. And I'm just smiling from ear to ear. Thank you, Stacy, for helping me to birth this baby. I'm Clarissa Bentz. My podcast is Older and Wiser Ladies. We are women 50 years and older who have had various life experiences, and we believe that we would like to share these life experiences with the younger women to help them in life. Thank you so much for doing this. I like that we have things we get together outside of the dares and we get to talk and we got technical assistance and all that. That was very good and I like that. And I look forward to publishing my first podcast. Hey, Stacy. This is Darcy Volden, and my podcast is Dream Driven Destiny beyond the Dream. And what I super duper love about the challenge is the dares. And I love that you actually call them dares. I don't know, there's just something about it inside me that hears the word dare and it's like, I cannot not do it because if it would have just been like a daily assignment. Like, it was like, do this assignment each day. I don't know if it's been as effective for me. So super love the format. I'm loving the Callcast platform. I think you're doing an awesome job with this challenge of the platform and the format. Thank you so much. Hi, Stacy, it's Francine Tertz from the Inspiration Project podcast. I would like to let you know how much I appreciate all that you provide and contribute and the amazing light that you spread. So thank you so much for all of your love and all of your kindness and all of your patience. Hello, this is Janet Fleming. I love the do the Thing challenge. What I love about it is that we have had a death in the family right around the time it started. It's the end of the school year and it's state testing time, IEP time, and we have a senior who's in their last month of school and getting ready for all the parties and things like that. So the fact that you have ways for me to go ahead and type my answer and stay fairly current and still moving forward is impressive and wonderful. And it's not a five day challenge like so many are. We have five whole weeks. So I love that. And I'm taking action every single day, and I'm so grateful. So thank you for all you're doing. Hey Stacy, this is Jennifer with Life Happens. Let's talk about it. And I just want to say that I absolutely love what you have created with this challenge. This challenge has forced me to get out of my own way and get going. It's only been two weeks now and I can already see the growth in myself. This is absolutely the most amazing thing ever. And I'm super glad that we crossed paths however that happened, because I don't remember. Anyway, I like challenges and when I saw this I was like, yep, I'm doing this because I always step up to the plate for challenges. So this was perfect for me. Anyway, thanks again. I really do appreciate it. Hi Stacy, this is Karen from the Unsalted and Unsettled podcast and I have thoroughly enjoyed spreading my wings and being creative in a safe space, knowing that I have support and others who are in the same boat as I am. So I've really appreciated that you've created this environment for us. It's been terrific and I never thought I would do anything like this. So I really look forward to the next several weeks and getting my podcast up and running. Woo hoo. Thanks again. This is Kim with the podcast Encountering Grace. And I just want to say that what I like about the challenge so far is the encouragement and the confidence that you receive from it. I really wasn't sure what to expect with it, but it's really cool when you've kind of had the desire to do a podcast and you're just like, you know what? This pops up on your Facebook feed and you're just like, I'm going to do it. Let's get this thing off the ground. And it's nice, especially when you are receiving feedback. So you see all these other people that are posting and it's all just these dares that you're doing to get yourself comfortable with your voice and your presence. And so it's really nice to receive feedback whether people like your topic or like your voice, enjoy listening to you. And that just is really encouraging and confidence building. Hi Stacy, this is Leslie from Travel is My Therapy and I just wanted to leave you a message to say thank you for this challenge. I really like the idea of having the daily dares because it's helping each of us get out of our comfort zone. And instead of just attending a workshop where the presenter is in front of the screen just spilling information, you're actually allowing us to actually have hands on and be able to create our podcast. Do things that many of us probably are very uncomfortable doing. But I appreciate the community that you have created, and I am looking forward towards the end where I'll actually have my own podcast. Thank you. Hey, Stacy. First, I want to thank you. This has been really fun. What I like most about this podcast is the challenge to just do. I love to do the thing. Sometimes I have to get out of my comfort zone, stop researching, stop planning, just do. And this is kind of forcing me to do that in a very good way. I enjoy very much figuring out the software. It can be a little daunting at times. But Adam is awesome and I appreciate his involvement in this. And thank you very much for putting this out there because it is something I've wanted to start for a while, and I think I've officially started it. All right, talk to you soon. This is Lorianne, by the way. Whiskey and cupcakes.
Hi, Stacy. This is Marsha Collins out of Florida. I just wanted to record a message just to say that although I have already started my podcast, that the do the Thing challenge has been just wonderful because I just kind of dived in and started my podcast even though I felt like I did not know what I was doing. This experience, as far as sharing with others and gathering more information, has just been wonderful. So thank you so much for doing this. It has been a great experience. Thank you so much.
Hi, this is Mary Jones, and I have a podcast named Time Management. And this all came about because I joined a Do the Thing challenge about a couple of weeks ago, and it's been the most amazing experience and learning how to get my voice out. You know, I was really afraid at first, but now, with all of the encouragement and the different sessions and the different dares that we're given, it's allowing me to express how I really feel about people managing their time, because we only have 1,440. So anybody listening, please join the do the Thing challenge.
Hello, this is Sheldon with the Authentically you experience.
And I am really excited about this challenge. What it has done for me is really helped me to come out of hiding, to show up. Part of my purpose for wanting to do the Authentically you podcast is to help women to be free, which is focused, renewed, elevated, and evolved. And this is really giving me an opportunity to show up and show out. And I really enjoy doing it with the support of others and getting to see that you don't have to be perfect. And the importance of this is just to get it going. And I'm really enjoying the benefit of the support and the guidance that we are receiving. So I am so happy that I made the decision to follow through and that I've been consistent in showing up. Hello, everyone, this is Miss Etta. Although the name of my podcast may change before actual launch, I am currently calling it T shirts and Sweet Tea. I am actually enjoying each of the dares. Each dare is helped to build our hosting muscles. We started with our mindset and identifying limiting beliefs and identifying excuses that would keep us from completing this challenge. This week we worked on the technical aspect. As you can see, each week we are doing more and more dares that help us get to the point of when we do launch, we not only have a successful launch, but we have a successful podcast. I'm really enjoying this do the Thing challenge because it's helping us do the thing. Good morning. This is Carrie and Bethany. We are doing the Sisters in Song podcast and I like that it's actually motivating me to get involved with the podcast because we've talked about doing one for a long time and I like seeing what everybody else is doing. I like the step by step process that you guys are leading us through. It's keeping it in a manageable little bite. So. And I feel like it's helping us to get organized. Thank you for doing the thing to help us do the thing. Hi there, Luis here from Mindful New. That podcast. It is helping me to put action into my objective, creating a podcast. I really appreciate being able to challenge myself by being genuine and really trying to help people and help myself by not only finding my own voice, but other people's voices and sharing those experiences. I'm constantly being put into an uncomfortable space where I have to put myself out there and share my ideas and my thoughts and my feelings. And I think that's extremely important for growth. So I really appreciate that opportunity to just be as real as I can and know that people appreciate that.
Hi, this is Vipa Dilla, your host of the Latin Influencer podcast. I like that it pushes me to do the unthinkable things that I never saw myself doing because I felt that I was very afraid of or I was very nervous. I now able to do them and I want more. I am very proud of myself because I'm putting myself out there and I'm doing and accomplishing goals that I never thought I would. So thank you, Stacy, for that. Have a great day. Hi, this is Madeline Anderson Ballmer. My name, my podcast has been transitioned from Happy Monster. Happy Me is now feeding your creative heart and I am enjoying this challenge. I've got a lot of stuff going on in my personal life. My house is being torn apart, so it's been a bit chaotic and I'm falling behind in the dares. But I'm glad that we can take our time and do them as we want and put our best product out there. I'm working on it and I'm excited to continue with the challenge and connect with other people and get my podcast up and running. So thanks for your help and feedback and it's all appreciated. Hello, this is Minutes with Meek and this is Shemeika Smith. Honestly, since we have started this challenge and I've kind of gotten into the swing of it, I'm really enjoying learning that I don't dislike the sound of my voice as much as I thought I did. I'm actually getting the hang of it. I feel like my voice is good for this and I think I'm getting some decent feedback that is confirming. So I'm really enjoying hanging out here, getting to know my voice and kind of talking my way through what I actually would like to talk about in the future. So thank you so much. Thanks for listening to the do the Thing podcast. We hope you enjoyed the show. But even more, we hope you'll be inspired to do the Thing. Do you have a burning question on Doing the Thing that you'd like answered? How about an inspiring do the Thing story of your own that you'd like to share? We'd love to hear all about it.
